Galvanizing Insight.

Today's Tids Issue 3,262
Opening Stuff:

In their usual fashion when behind with nothing to offer, the Dems make up stuff. Lala-Pelozi used the Paris tragedy as a background to accuse the House Repubs of shutting down Homeland security: “..choosing a time of rising terrorism to imperil the security of our entire country…” The Repubs responding, say basically that she is out of her mind and they would never jeopardize the US public. Protecting the public is one of the main reasons for our existence – Job #1. Thus starts another round of disingenuousness. Maybe Lala doesn’t realize she’s out because nobody believed her any more. And, this is the Honeymoon period.
The Czech citizens are quite happy about Prague-ress in their capital city.
I heard another pretty good name being tossed into the Repub presidential sweepstakes – Kelly Ayotte (Sen-NH). I’d vote for her in a heartbeat. She is a solid rational thinker, quiet and observant, confident and honest. She is strong on national security and tough on out of control immigration. But she may be just too logical for the average doofus.
Talk about a trampoline Stick market – how about yesterday’s wild swings of about 440 points from 270 up to a finish of 29 down, with every up and down imaginable in between. Commodities traders will be taking positions in Tums. Oh, and the Dow opened today down and was dropping through-200 at 9:50. All I can say is that yesterday it opened high and fell so maybe today it will recover with a boom as brokers realize the marginal December retail sales numbers aren’t the end-all for an economy that is sill posting solid numbers. Earnings reports begin today in earnest.
The Question:
Today is the 231st Anniversary of the US signing the Treaty of Paris which ended officially the Revolutionary War. Name the top five US Generals of the war

I may change the name of my on line Tids site form “Worldviewetc:” to “Galvanizing Insight”. Actually I stole the phrase from a particularly brilliant reader. But that’s what arrogant, smarmy editors do, look for intellectual advantages were ever they are. I’d better call my lawyers.
I see where the IRS is warning us of refund delays and poor customer services in the coming months. Here’s an Idea: Why not just do away with taxes for a year until they figure out what they are doing over there. Maybe they’re just spending too much time intimidating people over mandatory Health care. Maybe I’ll send my tax returns to Canada to see if I can get my money back there. It’s crazy.
I read where there is a Leak in the US compartment at the International Space Station. But, our government says don’t worry. Talk about insomnia! Actually, the US astronauts locked up their compartment and moved I with the Russians. I hear, though, they want out after binge watching YouTube where a bare chested Putin goes horseback riding, skiing, polo playing, and is seen in diners and Dives and looking for a vacation home on an Island in Casco Bay Maine. All whiole eating cheese coated beet puffs called Borschto’s.
Did you see where  an Ohio Bartender had plotted to kill John Boehner wit a gun and poison? Well, an Internet arm of the Boston Globe (Elizabeth Warren’s Promotion Pamphlet) said that the US wouldn’t care. I think the Globe has a problem with journalism.
Meanwhile out in Columbus Ohio the brain dead took to the streets to celebrate the big championship. The small minded journalists of the newspaper chose this moment to try to focus on what they tried to portray as an over zealous “Police Force” – using tear gas after 40 fires, marauding 8,000 fans blocking major roads. Hey, I would have been part of the 8,000. I was just that kind of mindless, rambunctious weenie. But, today they have been way too many incidences of serious destruction requiring police action. The police should be tear-gassing news rooms.
The Answer:
This is one of those arguable lists. #1 after George was RI’s Nathanial Greene. Next was Benedict Arnold (Also with RI Roots), Horatio Gates (Wanted GW’s job), Marquis de Lafayette, J. Henry Knox (Greens best friend), Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, Daniel Morgan, John Sullivan (Average general but In most battles), Louis Duportail (Chief Engineer of the Continental Army) and Lord Stirling (William Alexander – Hero of important Brooklyn retreat). OF course this list misses many well known names most prominent of which to me was a Washington Favorite Anthony Wayne. Some others outside of the Top Ten are Phillip Schuler, Benjamin Lincoln, Baron de Kalb and John Stark.
Thanks for listening. This mess is beginning to galvanize. The Tids: Electric and thrilling. Enjoy the juice.!
