It’s cold as hell; And it is perfect.

Today's Tids Issue 3,261
Opening Stuff:

Today is for dreamers. For all of us who can sit upon a cloud and see the world beyond. Or by the edge of an ocean and feel touched by people you can’t see. It is a day for those who dare, who explore, who make dreams come true. Close your eyes and visualize. You are on the edge of an amazing world. You can create dreams like Walter Mitty, and live in them. Or you can go out and do it.

In states with static populations, I get concerned when I see news about big new developments that promise beautiful housing for 500 and up. What that says to me is that somewhere in the state, older communities will be starting to process towards blight.

Clueless Lane is so confused right now that they have trouble deciding which way is up. For this week at least, the new expectation for the stock market seems to be a year of massive ups and downs similar to what we have been experiencing. I think that’s what happens when the market gets too high, and the Global economy starts showing signs of wear. This trampoline effect has everybody jumping higher and landing cautiously for fear of falling off. That’s what really hurts. Maybe we need to build the trampoline on an air mattress.

It seems as though President Obama has moved up a notch. Now he’s a Community College Organizer.

The Question:
The US news & World Report “Top Jobs” for 2015 List is out. The ratings are based on average salary, unemployment rate and expected job openings. What are the Top Ten?

Teach your daughter how to shoot, because a restraining order is just a piece of paper.

After the announcement of the Boston selection for US representative in the Olympic sweepstakes, I listened to an interview with Mayor Marty Walsh. He said the idea was hatched just as he took office when his best pal John Fish, a major developer/builder came in for a chat. “So Marty, what do you want to do tonight?” “I don’t know, John, what do you want to do?” Well, Marty, maybe we should bring Olympics  to Bostorn.?” “Better than hanging around, John.” So, that’s essentially what the mayor says about the origins of the Boston bid. In the same interview when asked questions about traffic, congestion, security and a host of possible ills for locals, the mayor always answered “No problem”, and laughed everything off. I think we’re in big trouble.

The Olympics will probably go to South Africa.

What will they think of Next, Department:
Beware of people who get the press, because some will believe it. Seen in yesterday’s paper – “Legalizing marijuana helps fight racism”.

The normal print run of Charlie Hebdo is 60,000. They are printing 3,000,000 of the newest post massacre issue. It looks like they’re out to make a killing.

My eyes darted to a story titled, “Why younger women like older men”. That seemed heartening until I read that older men were those over forty. I guess there’s a difference between “Older Men” and “Old Men”.

Why doesn’t Buick rhyme win quick?

A young woman started a national  movement to overcome laws mandating that the President must be a natural born citizen. She was getting plenty of media support and stood strongly amidst cheers in weekday afternoon TV talk shows. Eventually she got her big day before congress and was doing Ok until she said, “What makes natural born citizens more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-Section?” Whoops.

As kids, Naptime was a punishment. Now it feels like a small vacation.

Ohio state was just too big and strong for Oregon. You could see them wearing down the Ducks as the game wore on. OSU’s QB was bigger than line backers and some D-Linemen. How about that Cardell Jones, a third stringer who looked better than some pros, beginning with his role in the devastation of Wisconsin in the Big ten Championship. Do you think Ohio State may be loaded? They won the first playoff championship, and they were dominant doing it. They may be fro a long time.

Why do I have to “Press 1 for English” when they are going to transfer me to somebody I can’t understand anyway?

The Answer:
Number 1 is Dentist, which is followed by Nurse Practitioner. #3 is Software Developer followed by Physician, Dental Hygienist, Physical Therapist, Computer Systems Analyst, Information Security Analyst, Registered Nurse and Physicians Assistant. The biggest pile of money is in medical area. It is one of those “Somebody-else-is-paying-for-it” Behemoth industries, so consumers pay little attention to costs. My guess is that you could take a trillion or so out of the medical industry and it would still function properly. You could start with tort reform.

Oh yeah, and here are five Once “Prestigious” Jobs now on the “B” list. You know those jobs, the one’s that Mom loved to boast about:  Lawyer (Enrollment in Law school way down; too many lawyers fighting for same dollar.). Professor (PHD’s staying away from classroom; in fact having trouble finding worked requiring such the degree, except perhaps as analyst for Gore’s weather industry. ). Stockbroker (Used to be lucrative and gentile; Now fairly lucrative and ethically challenged). Family Doctor (Too much school debt and not enough salary) . Travel Agent (was essential and now barely necessary).

Have you found that rainbow yet?
