Media Today: Abettors Instead of Informers.

Today's Tids Issue 3,301
Opening Stuff:

Mother nature is more like Michelangelo these early March days as it deposits magnificent ice sculptures on beaches, in harbors. Soothe the anger wrought by winter by absorbing the beauty of nature. Opportunities to be awed don’t come along every day.

Raisins rarely achieve Grapeness.

Iran helping Iraq, is a little like Russian being an ally during WWII.

If we keep minimum wages low it may induce more people to strive to get out from under it. Basically increasing the Min wage is a political move that rewards people for existing. And in the process. adds to the inflationary cycle.

The Question:
Quadruple “Q” Day: 1. Who was Juliette Gordon Low?  2. In the thirties FDR had a series of radio broadcasts. What were they called? 3. What famed jazz musician of yore had the nickname “Bird”? 4. Who was Jon Provost?

I see where recently released resumes of new Governor Raimondo staff appointees have a strong aground in union activism.. In the same breath she also announced that we must raise the min wage to $10. This from a Governor who says the only way out is new jobs from new businesses who want to come into this state.

I like a good cloudy day at the resort so I can go to the pool and swim by myself.

No matter what happens to ISIS, it’s still is and will always be all about the Shiites versus the Sunnis.

There is the Logan Law that bars citizens from dealing with foreign countries. Of course the Senators are citizens and a letter to Iran would be considered a direct communication to a foreign country. I think the Repubs were walking on the edge of Oversight, which is there prerogative in treaty making procedures. I also believe that the USA needs to have a the appearance of a solid front in International negotiations. Of course Kerry and “O” could have talked to the Foreign Affairs committee about guidance in the procedure of banning nukes. The Dems may be able to find grounds to sue Congress under that Logan Law, but I tend to doubt if it will happen as cooler heads prevail. Meanwhile Hillary has already assured that there will be gridlock if she happens to fool the public and gain the presidency.

I promised myself that I was not going to mention Hillary his morning. That’s a little like trying to give up Cheetos – I know they are bad for me, but there’s something delicious about that evilness.

BTW, I implied some negative critiques of the new House of Cards Season 3, but a valued and loyal reader wrote to say that the amoral evilness trademark of the show still abounds. And this knowledgeable source lives in DC and feels our angst every day.

Here’s Ten restaurants companies that could be good investments going forward ( Actually I don’t know if they would be really good investments, but I like to write about eating): Chanticleer Holdings, Habit Burger Grill, Frisch’s Chipolte Mexican Grille, Diversified Rest. Holdings, Chuy’s Holdings, Nayhan’s Famous, Popeye’s Louisiana, Red Robin.] and Noodles and Co. Note: Chanticleer is “Hooters”; Diversified is “Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern and Buffalo Wild Wings Bar. Sorry Michelle, I’m not seeing any all veggie hot prospects.

The Answer:
1. Low established the first Girl Scout troop in Georgia. 2. People with 1930’s money woes loved FDR’s Fireside Chats. 3. Charlie “Bird” Parker was one of the all time great Jazzmen. 4. Jon Provost was TV Lassie’s best pal Timmy.  Many a child’s tear was embedded in our carpet on that one.

Showbiz Analysis with Jon Provost

You may be seeing a pic of Timmy and Lassie above. Or not.

Have a great day, Everybody.
