Smothered in daffodils.

Today's Tids Issue 3,579
Opening Stuff:

I always enjoy a good dose of the Queen. She looked pretty sharp yesterday, dressed brightly like a spring day. I almost thought I saw wildflowers sprouting up through streets, as her presence was so upbeat and cheerful. It’s good to see masses of citizens of a country smiling, not fighting and shouting.

“O” was in Briton today and he faced a pretty hostile press, foreign to him compared to the softball throwers in America. No PC there as they asked questions like “Don’t you sympathize a little with the people who are pro Brexit?” And, much more.

Baseball replays have to go. It was better when the Umps made the calls. Now we have a game that is too long for the average short attention span American getting longer as mangers increasingly ask to take another look at calls. And as far as I can determine, the calls have in most case been too close to change, even on video. There will always be bad calls, but it is the human aspect that makes sports great. If I were Commish., I’d dump them in a heartbeat.

Elvis asked for a meeting with Richard Nixon because he was concerned about the Black Panthers, rampant drug use and war protestors. Nixon didn’t quite know what to make of him, but he got an autograph for Julie. Think about what might concern Elvis about today’s society.

The Question:
Who are these people? Chris Makepiece, Jeffery Dean Morgan and Eric Mabius.

Prince was a giver. A private man, a brilliant man, a kind man who seemed to believe in the talent of others. He fostered careers and contributed to the success of all musicians. And he was talented. Very talented.  Do you ever see purple rain, in the dusk of a day well done. When the clouds burst forth with earth’s nutrients made purple by the setting sun. I think one of the best tributes I could give Prince is the YouTube performance below here several well known performers are in awe of the man with the mon the satge. The song. The day the guitar cried.

The only thing I get from the changing of the $20.00 bill is that it is one more step towards sanitizing history, a seemingly main objective of the 0-Man admin. Forgetting a president who was good for his times, even if not relevant, or even negative for the perceptions of today. As far as I can remember, it has been mainly communist regimes who remove history from schools and people’s hearts. Take away the spirit of the past, always the best teacher of today; control the minds of the people.

Reader sends this from “Atlas Shrugged”: “When you see trading done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors  -- When you see that men (And women) get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self sacrifice – you may know your society is doomed.”

I have to be honest—when Prince died I searched YouTube for some of his music and didn’t find much I liked.

This Summer Olympics could be a doozy. Yesterday the Flame started it’s journey in Greece just as the bike path for the Olumpics collapsed killing at least 2. The Omens are not good. My gues is that the news people from around the world will be there expecting, or hoping something will go wrong.

I’ve never seen the News media spend so much time on the death of a musician. He must have been popular; more meaningful than I realized.

It will be interesting to see hat sentence Dennis Hastert gets on April 27. He has pleaded guilty, looking for probation. Yet for an average citizen, the concept of probation for his heinous crimes would not even be on the table.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--Not much this weekend, so get out enjoy nature. The big promoted film of the week, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, is a bomb. Despite a great cast and stunning visuals, this film about stopping the Ice Queens plans to take over the Enchanted Forest takes you nowhere. A waste of time.
--The Meddler is a family dynamics film that is better than some. Susan Sarandon shines as the mother -- set up with a new smart phone, apartment and bank roll from beloved departed husband – who moves from NY to LA to be near her daughter, a screen writer. And Butts in. This is a movie about butting in and the ramifications. I’m not going but people seem to like it.

The Answer:
Ok, Chris Makepiece was another of those teen actors who was lauded for teen roles noticeably in “Meatballs” and “My Bodyguard”. If you watch Good Wife this year you have seen JD Morgan as Felicia’s lover Jason Crouse. He made it big first In Grey’s Anatomy. Eric Mabius made People Mag’s Sexiest Man Alive List after his big success as Magazine editor Daniel Meade in the TV program Ugly Betty.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-ry-b-o-d-y!
