Tids for Sanity:
Where
have you gone America? America of the free; America the
kind and giving; America to whose shores millions have come to use the freedoms
of equality and openness for growth and success. Why have we lost our streets,
our safe havens? Have lives ceased to matter? Now here’s the deal – I wrote
this when singer Christina Grimmie, an innocent, was shot multiple times in
public by a complete stranger. And then, compounding my disbelief, we had Omar
who thinks freedom in America is walking into a crowded room mowing down more innocents.
What in America is creating these minds? That’s what is scary.
The
Great American Angst, Department:
You can see the tension in the faces of Dems and
Repubs alike; the forced smiles over clenched teeth. Yes the honest American
voter is rationalizing the hell out of their good judgment to vote for the
nominee of their party. Actually true liberals are probably having the easiest
time of it, because they have repeatedly voted for so much that has contributed
to a society that appears in moral decline. The next group who find it easy to
vote for their person are the masses who are sick and tired of of runaway
liberalism and anti constitutionality. Basically for many, it comes down to my
deeply flawed candidate is better than your deeply flawed candidate.
The
opening to the Tony awards was one of the best openings ever
to award show I have evr seen. I was ready to enjoy an uncluttered evening
until Jake Gillenhaal walked out, all natty in his tux, and his first words were
about how great it is to have our first woman president nominee, Hillary
Clinton God help me. And the audience went bonkers. And then, Hamilton took the
mystery out of the evening by winning it all.
One
of the new male fashion trends displayed on morning TV last
week really bothered me – Pants -- whether for dress suits or casual slacks –
that lay crumpled upon the shoe. In other words they pants appear to be about 3
or more inches too long. So, is the revival of Nehru jackets just around the
corner. I will remain a happy dinosaur in the skin I already have.
On
a similar note, Ralph Lauren Company is reorganizing to
combat declining sales. It appears, I am told, that the millennials want to
dress to look poor.
It
didn’t take long for politics to override the
mourning in Florida.

grammar in the Twitter world? Come to think of it, I was never very good at
grammar myself. Have you dangled any participles lately? Like everything else
that seems to be disappearing in America, grammar may be next.

is one of the best crime-stopper tools ever.
Let’s
see – No grammar; dress to look poor. Yup, I’d say we
are lowering the bar instead of setting standards that make people wake up and
reach out, keep the USA on top.. Unless of course the new world considers standards
of sloppiness and self depreciation as the new civilization.
Trump’s
biggest
problem to overcome is the media.
When

(On local Fore Department,” I say, “So.” And move on to the comics.

this, and move in. It will suck you in, for sure.
They
have been beautifying Broadway here in town, and
one end result that could make for a more hopful future is that they don’t seem
to be painting lines designating the angle street parking. May be the Local
government is respecting the brains of local citizenry to make good decisions
for themselves. That would be refreshing.
You
have to figure that all of the young people eating in Mexican
restaurants will not be voting for the El Trumpo.
I
never saw the importance of having bath tubs in homes,
when a shower is so much cleaner and faster. But there are many who consider
luxuriating in a pool of increasingly dirty water close to nirvana. I wonder if
they feel so contented these days as city water approaches the cost of gold?
Another
thing that has been bothering me for a year or so
is the slow increase in sports page space devoted to the Ya, Ya, Ya…(WYKWIM).
It must be because of all those people driving cars with “I Love NY” bumper stickers
moving in demanding expanding coverage as the Apple gets more crowded. When the
stories start appearing on the front sports page, that’s the day I move to
Maine.
We
should declare war on iSIS and let the soldiers
fight it the way wars are supposed to be fought.
