Bam! Bam! Wham! Hooray!

Today's Tids Issue 3,631
For America:

Well, folks it is July. That month when Americans celebrate becoming who they are -- officially exiting from the British, or the first significant Brexit. And have we been happy we set ourselves adrift to fight the winds and storms on our own; a new nation free from the sovereign tyranny. How great had that government of the people by the people and for the people become; the pride of the world, the most desired place for personal freedom and individual opportunity…a God fearing nation filled with trust and responsibility. The good ole’ Red, White and Blue that waves ever true. So, July Fourth gets our hearts athumping. And then we realize…you can’t go anywhere because these freedom seeking Americans are clogging roads and out of the way places.

You have to wonder how many men have asked themselves, “I wonder what my mom did with my baseball card collection.

But, I can get over the overwhelming masses commandeering roads and neighborhoods, because when that first drum rat-a-tats, and those trombones and trumpets blare, I’ll look up like I always have and feel proud as that flag of stripes and stars passes by.

The Question:
Name five of the “Stans”. Bonus: What are the five best known Marlon Brando Movies. Firecracker Bonus: Name five of the early American Flags.

The Headlines:
--Americans Picking Blueberries, Baking Apple Pies And Chopping Onions For Hot Dogs As Big Day Nears.
--Markets Start In Positive Land For Fourth Consecutive Day. Pound Still Down.
--Hershey Says “No” To Mega Offer From Food Giant Mondelez. One Great American Institution Continues.
--Loretta Further Distances Herself From Ill Advised Clinton Meeting By Saying Experienced Prosecutors Will Be Sole Determiners In Hillary And Bill FBI Matters.
--Driverless Car Death Could Inhibit Public Acceptance Of Giving Up Control To Digits; Tesla Car Could Not Distinguish Side Of Large Semi from Sunlit Sky.

My computer is getting old and crotchety, and it’s making me the same.

Actually, my mom saved my marble collection, but I haven’t noticed marbles going for tens of thousands of dollars on Antiques Road Show.

There is really nothing to like about Donald Trump except that he is the only person, today, between Hillary and the White House.

Personably, I feel that all of this new driver assist technology is making drivers less responsible and creating bad habits. I can take this back to the early four wheel drive cars and SUV’s where drivers a had a sense that they didn’t have to be careful on snow covered roads.

There has been a lot of focus on the FBI Investigation of Hillary’s emails and her less than generous testimony about them. Little info is know about a parallel investigation of the FBI begun after finding new Hillary emails on the subject of The Clinton Foundation. Apparently, there is some very damning stuff that has the FBi cranking up a further look into the dealings within their money machine.

I really get tired of hearing firecrackers going off at all times during the night over the fourth of July weekend.

Wouldn’t it be nice of all business and personal relationships were based entirely on human honesty and trust, and that the legal aspects were designed only for framework. It seems nowadays that legal documents are being designed to get around ethics, morals and certainly trust.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--I have always liked the Legend of Tarzan, but this one that takes place in modern times and has the making of a decent plot, doesn’t quite make it. Tarzan, Now Lord Greystroke, has been invited back to Africa as an emissary. But, there is a plot and he is the dupe. The evil doers however do not know what they have bargained for when they agitate this gentle man formerly known as Tarzan of the Jungle.. You could be disappointed though.
--BFG is a fair movie about a young girl, The Queen of England and a benevolent giant (BFG). Who set out to capture evil man eating giants who have been terrorizing the world. Note: President Obama says you cat call them man eating.
--Our Kind of Traitor has all of the elements of a good spy thriller, Russian Mafia, British Secret Service, Paris, London and dirty politics. Somehow it falls apart. I may go anyway.

The Answer:
The Istanbul terrorists seemed to have come from Countries who’s names ended in “Stan”, which means “Land of”. Maybe we should get to know them: The biggest is Pakistan and the rest are Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Ubekistan, Kyrgystan,, Turkministan, Tejikistan. There is no truth to the rumor that Irstan was shortened to Iran. Bonus: Marlon was great, and I always think of his first big pic, On The Waterfront. But a lot of people liked the populate Godfather. He was greta in all of his pics that include. Streetcar Named Desire, The Wild One, The Young Lions, Burn, Julius Caesar, Sayonara and Apocalypse Now. Actually, picking an actor’s best movie list is really personal. Firecracker Bonus: The first US Flag was the circle ogf 13 stars in a bue panel over 13 red and white stripes. Two popular, actively used flags were the Rattlesnake flag with the words ”Don’t Treed On Me”, and one often carried into revolutionary war battles called Maritine Colony of Rhode Island Flag (13 stars, Anchor and word “Hope”) The Moultrie Flag was distinctive to the South colonies. The Green Mountain Boys flag was very cool looking (A green flag with a blue panel containing 13 randomly scattered stars. Another of the best known flags was the Bennington Flag, originally thought to be carried throughout the war but now it seems was made for the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Isn’t sad that a person who relies on trust of fellow humans is often considered naïve.

I found some negative quotes about and by Hillary, but in the spirit of the Fourth of July celebration of independent States United as one, I figured that laying off stomach turning discourse would be appropriate.

Don’t hold your firecrackers too long.

Happy Birthday America.
