Are we who we are?

Today's Tids Issue 3,911
For being us:

Everybody knows a lot about their own me,
But what about the you, others always see.
Is it exactly like what’s in one’s heart?
Are they just actor’s playing a selfish part.
It’s tough to be something different than thee,
It’s much easier to show up as you should be
It’s better if others take you for who you are.
Being rejected for being you, is better by far.

It’s always a good week that ends with the British open.

If you ever invent something and are afraid it may be too inane to be acceptable to the American public, I give you one word -- “Kardashian”.

The Question:
Triple Paly “Q” Day. 1. Who was the first Rear Admiral of the US Navy?  2. Name three books by J.D. Salinger.  3. Who said, “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice; Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” Bonus: Who revealed the existence of the Nixon Tapes?

The Headlines:
--Market Marking Time Waiting For Good Earnings Reports
--Healthcare Vote Coming Down To the Wire, After McCain Recovers.
--New Bloomberg Poll: Like The Economy, Not Trump.
--Minneapolis Police Trying To Determine Why Woman Was Shot And Killed By Police When Responding To Her Call For Help
--Susan Rice In the Hot Box Before Congress; Will Be Grilled About Unmasking.

I still think OJ is guilty of killing his wife and …just in case you are wondering about my views on his upcoming parole hearing.

Bitcoin may be the willow tree in the currency forest.

I’m creating a new image for myself. I hang around the vegetable departments of supermarkets -- picking up and examining various vegetables and fruits. Then I smile as people walk by. It’s a lot of work not being me.

BTW, don’t stand behind a vegetarian in a checkout line. Their vegetables and fruits all have to be weighed and individually priced by hand. Besides, most cashiers seem to have an affinity towards Cheeto’s and snack eaters. That is, if you like smiles.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rahm wins the “The Open”. He played well in the US early this year, and has been very good the past weeks in Europe. The bookies like Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Adam Scott and Jason Day. But, I think Spieth will do well. Rory has been making some dumb errors lately. Would hard to put any money on that long hitter. There is always a surprise on the leader board. But considering what’s going on this year it wouldn’t be a surprise if there were many of the young players there.

When did it become necessary to have to go somewhere to have fun?

I watched CBS News exclaim over the low trump ratings. Now I know that the Prez brought a lot of this on himself, but the low ratings are more a self-fulfilling prophecy the result of continuous negativity in the reporting. If the stations and papers wanted, they could have reported, at least neutrally, on several of he programs the Admin as produced. Like for instance – what is wrong with ObamaCare and here’s what the Repubs and Prez should be looking at. It’s called objectivity.

One of the more hilarious trends in the Sunday Morning news shows is watching obvious Trump haters like John Dickerson asking Democrat leaders like Mark Warner if they think the Trump admin is doing bad things. Duh!

Even more humorous is the CBS Nightly news programs reporting the Warner remarks as “News”.

The Answer:
There are more questions today than the good Tidlets: 1. David Farragut was that first Rear Admiral. 2. Salinger is almost a high priest for is “Catcher in the Rye”. Some others were “Franny and Zooey”, “Raise High the Roof Beam” and “Carpenters and Seymore.”  3. Barry Gold water said the “Extremism…” line at his Repub nomination Acceptance speech. It was written by his close advisor Carl Hess. Bonus. Of course, you knew that the quiet and secluded Alexander Butterfield was the guy who dropped a dime on Nixon.

Have a great day!
