Who opened my windows so wide?

Today's Tids Issue 3,948
For Caves:

This is one of those mornings when there is so much going on in the world that it is hard to know where to start. So, some days the best solution is to just keep it simple, not to overthink. I think I’ll just find a rock by the sea, sit on it and wait for the tide to roll in and cover my toes. Then I’ll just walk on knowing that have experienced just about all the change I needed to see for a day.

Why has a world so large become so small?

A harbormaster is in charge of Berth control.

A tip of the old Tids Tam to the Cleveland Browns for their AL record of 21 consecutive wins. With that they passed the Providence (RI) Grays of 1884 and the Oakland A’s of 2002. To get the all-time majors record the Indians will have win one more to break the tie with the 1880 Chicago White Stockings and the 1935 Chicago Cubs and then 5 more to top the 26 by the New York Giants of 1916.

One of the ongoing diplomatic questions in the minds of world leaders is whether Russia will go East or West. Frankly, East? West? I could care less.

The Question:
What is the original name for the poem, “Star Spangled Banner”? Bonus: Who was the first American Born Catholic Saint?

The Tids Sports Department started pretty well, much better than last year, with a 12-3 first week of Picks (And one loss was from picking the NE Pats! The heavily favored beloveds let me down. There are some good posers this week, which may be because of the apparent improvement of so many teams: Houston at Cinn, Minn at Pitt, Philly at KC, Cleve at Balt (Yes Cleve), NE at NO, Tenn At Jax, Skins at Rams, Dallas at Denver, GB at Atlanta and Detroit at Giants could actually go either way. The winners there will be Cinncy, Pitt in a nail biter, KC, The Browns in a big upset, NE in a squeaker, Tenn after a war, Rams, Denver in a surprise, Atlanta, and Giants finding an offense at home. For the rest, I’m picking Arizona over Indy, TB over da Bears, Carolina over the Bills, Oakland over Jets, Chargers over Miami, and Seattle over the Niners.

There’s no truth to the rumor that the San Fran City Council has passed a no aggression rule for NFL football. Critics ask why the SF Niners has hired Anti-Fa as cheerleaders.

Hedge Funder Shkrelei is an arrogant guy where most people will find some reasons to hate him, and that includes DA’s and judges.. So, his antics only become excuses for authorities to seek harsher punishments.

I missed AGT Tuesday night which started late because of Hand-in Hand. But, there were some top line acts that night making it a super mystery going into last night about who could be the remaining 5 of 12. There were more singers than they had at The Voice and all gave great performances. I particularly liked 9 year old Celine Tam, but she was up against another super youngster in 10 yo Angelica Hale, who made it to the finals. Over all, I was happy the five picked – Angelica, Kechi, Mandy Harvey, Diovalo and high-tech dance group Light Balance. I would have picked the AF Academy singers “Stair Well” over them. So now there are ten. Add the above five to amazing ventriloquist Darci Lynn Farmer, comedian Preacher Lawson, songwriter singer Chase Goehring, Singer Evie Clair and the fun dog act Sara and Hero, and you have a very good Tuesday ahead of you next week. As I read those ten, as good as they all have shown to be, I am still liking Darcie Lynn to win it all. She s just a pleasure to watch, and each time she is on, I am hoping her act never ends.

The power outage in the South shows that it is difficult to live naturally in the south.

In case you are interested, when writing I generally do not print acronyms like DACA or FEMA in all caps because I find it interruptive to reading, and generally intrusive to the look of the paragraphs. I always pick superficiality over accuracy.

There is no truth to the rumor that in an effort to find money to pay for rebuilding or fixing RI schools, school buses will now have to pay tolls when passing thorugh the new Statewide truck tolling system. (Note: that’s a RI inside joke). The real sad thing is that it could become true.

New research shows clearly that real democrats are running away from the left side of their party as fast as they can. The antics of the Anti-Fa crazies and more has them really scared of what their own left may have created. The liberal media missed the paradigm change that Trump took advantage of, and some say the same media are missing this latest political phenomenon too.

Every good bald man loves a hair razing movie.

The biggest surprise in the Irma massacre is what happened up in Jacksonville. This was truly a statewide a event, and there will be a lot of sad stories.

The Answer:
The poem, The Star-Spangled Banner, had as its original title “Defense of Fort McHenry”. Bonus: The first born in America saint was Mother Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton.

Do you think we will ever be able to close the curtains to this new world of electronic Peeping Toms.
