The sky is free.

Today's Tids Issue 4,035
For Following Your Dreams:

There are so many ways to look at the world. There are little bits of right in many ideas, even some with which we don’t agree. Most often it is because we can’t take our eyes off the mirror. We don’t see what is beyond the glass.

Puns the younger generation won’t understand: A grenade thrown into a kitchen in France would result in Linoleum Blownapart.

Linoleum?

I love the description of Hollywood GG Black dressed celebrities by Rose McGowen as “The Fancies”. She said in a GG post mortem she was appalled at all of these people – including Streep, Anniston, Witherspoon and even Oprah – as conveniently taking the spotlight but were nowhere to be found when they all knew Harvey was abusing many.

There is a disturbing trend out there. Data shows that investors are dropping the basic protections their portfolios that would guard against big losses after a downturn in the market. Now, that could mean that optimism is high. It could also mean we are entering the latest era of losing reality. For instance, we are seeing some former super-hot stocks plummeting – like Go-Pro which just hit a very low $6.56/share. What we may be seeing is just how the ease of entry into various markets through technology can make one year’s winner a loser with the flick of a switch or the rabid chasing of a new app. And in some instances, government regulations catching up with hot ideas that don’t pay taxes. And there  is my own favorite downturn indicator --  A crazed list of proposed new hotels for Providence RI. That usually comes at the end of a boom. However, on the positive side, we are in the middle of a tech boom that has not even come within an Elon Musk Moon shot of the DotCom disaster of the 1999-2000 era. So, while it looks like irrational exuberance, there definitely is a little more substance to some of today’s power stocks. It just seems at times to look like a willow tree economy.

The Question:
Who are considered the all-time best female Country singers? Bonus: Five items have been scientifically proven to make women more attractive to men. Name them

When orders for acetone, benzene and ethanol plummeted, the chemical plant become insolvent.

The biggest fight we can’t see between leftists and conservatives is over who will come out on top controlling the underground internet networks? It is there where the seeds of discontent or hope are planned and passed upward to he uninformed.

Did you see where Trump supporter Roseann Barr says her next TV show will be about a working-class Trump supporter. The Hollywood “Fancies” are up in arms against her effort.

I don’t see anything in Oprah Wimphry’s past or in her GG textbook liberal speech that would make her fair to all-Americans. Unless of course, she gave me a free car.

The Fancies! Love it.

The Wolff book raises the specter of the 25th Amendment as a way for the left to get rid of President Trump. Of course, the depressed Dems leaped upon it. But, there were many a sober mnd, like Alan Dershowitz who said that using the 25th Amendment to rid us of any President whom the other side disagreed with would be toxic to the future of the USA.  He has always been against the “Criminalization of Political Differences”. He went on to say, though, that the that “the Psychiatrist-ization of political differences” would be infinitely more dangerous, similar to what they have done in Russia, China and in an apartheid in South Africa – “If you don’t like a candidate, first lock them up; if you can’t lock them up commit them to a mental hospital”. It is incredibly dangerous to pursue such an action, and he added Psychiatrists have been notoriously bad about predicting violence.” Of course, any reliable news organization would have thought about that before presenting as news to consider.

Singing in the shower is all fun and games until you get soap in your mouth. Then, it becomes a soap opera.

Is Lebron James getting old? Actually, he is still a youngish 32, but in basketball years he has already played more games than Michael Jordan did in his entire career. Lebron is still young, but what about his legs that have supported his carrying many a team on his back?

Two things I tend to ignore in media: Stories about Trump on CNN, and stories about the New England Patriots on ESPN.

When it is below 32 degrees, it is cold and nice and neat. When it is in the 32 to 40 range, it is cold, damp and messy.

The Answer:
According to my source, Carrie Underwood tops the list. She is followed by Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, Martina Mc Bride, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Faith Hill and at #10 – Linda Ronstadt. The next five are Loretta Lynn, Sara Evans, Emmy Lou Harris, Tammy Wynette and Allison Krauss. As you go down the list you realize that there were a lot of great near iconic singers not mentioned above, but who could easily be the all-tie favorite of many. BTW, the list of current top Country female singers includes Allison Krauss, Brandy Clark, Carrie Underwood, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbury, Gretchen Wilson, Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert. Bonus: The five accoutrements scientifically proven to help women snag men are high heels, red clothing, Black dresses, sleeveless tops and dresses, and “Body-con” dresses. Black dresses? Say what?

I like Martina McBride. I like her Independence Day and others but here’s a thoughtful one, maybe pretty profound in today’s environment (Perhaps another kind of Independence Day):
And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing.
She carries her dreams
Man you should see her fly.
