Helplessness:
I remembered yesterday, I remembered the peaceful Sunday morning, the lapping waves against lava encrusted shores as the sun rose out of the ocean; the church bells ringing and people dashing across the island not to be late for church. And then the roar. The horrifying roar of planes looming out of the rising sun; bearing down, strafing, killing. And the people, soldiers, sailors wives children in disbelief. Helpless. A peaceful people, condemned, victims of one nation’s betrayal of trust. Never forget December 7, 1941.

I hear a lot of names of popular people I don't know; how do I put them in context with my understanding of the world. You know like pop singers, podcasters – the new breed. So, here’s a "Q” that may help some of us who have lost track of the pop culture world. Spotify has just released the top Podcasters and the yop ten US artists and the Top Ten Global artists. In case you are confused by the word artist, they mean musical performer. How many can you name?

HGTV has been showing movies lately. Yes, production costs have caught up with it, it appears. Or maybe it is the accountants from new owners. Buying and streaming old movies is cheaper. Maybe that's why Netflix paid so much for Warner Brothers which by the way owns Discovery which owns HGTV. All this is not surprising as the relatively youthful, hysterically put together streaming biz matures into complex businesses seeking efficiencies for multiple owners. The money minders will be all over the clogged streamer industry.
In case you missed it, the Kennedy Center H0nors were held last night. Trump was 98% involved in picking the recipient which he said unsurprisingly are the best performers ever: George Strait, Michael Crawford, Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor and the band KISS. When will he rename the Kennedy Center to yhe you know what center.
