Anything can be done.

Today's Tids Issue 5.865

Who needs it:

Do you know why cute little bunnies eat beautiful flowers? They're afraid of the competition

Wall Street has plenty of well-paid analysts researching aspects of the economy. Results pump up and let down the investors. Data projects and predicts. And markets react often in quite a mysterious way. Yet despite data and dreams and schemes and good and bad business decisions I believe the market will endure on the positive side for one simple reason. The is one helluva lot of cash around just aching to be invested. It has to go someplace be that risky or conservative. And as long as their are sensible controls and institutions like the Fed to prevent stupid investment behavior and runaway over heated markets, our capitalist financial foundation will survive. Unless of course we default on the national debt.

Being conservative and being a consecutive are entirely different things.

The Question:

Name five if the worst cars ever.

The Haenlines:

--Markets Surged A Bit; Apple Pops After Bowing to Trump Extortion to Building US Factory.

--Army Segreant Shoots Five Other Soldiers at Fort Stewart in Georgia.

--Trump-Modi Relationship Hits new Low after DT Threatens 50% Tariff on India for Buying Russia Oil.

--Trump Envoy Meets Putin as Ukraine Ceasefire Deadline Looms.

--RFK Jr to Withdraw $500 Million in Funds for Flu and Covid Vaccine Research.

--Trump Names Himself as Chairman of Olympic Games Task Force.

--Japan Pauses For Prayers remembering 80 Years since Hiroshima A-bomb.

How about this one for a Dem Ticket for 2028: Warren-Mamdani. Yes, Elzabeth without reservation proclaimed yesterday that Zohran’s ideas is where the Dem party is going and where America should follow. Get ready

Newest pet peeve are the sign in screens at drug stores and ordering screens at fast food places. But then I think... this app could make a techno-teenager a billionaire and I should be happy about that. But it is not easier.

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State building and after four floors says, ‘So far so good.”

Here’s an interesting contradiction. To keep rabbits from eating your flowers that will emit delightful aromas you have to spray them with foul smelling anti rabbit solution

The biggest gaslighting episode in modern American history is telling people it's easier to sign into a techno screen than talking to a clerk.

Well, today is VJ day. What an important date it was in the history of the world. It's too bad so many countries didn't hear the lesson, that endless wars just kill people.

Yesterday Trump told CNBC that he is going  to punish banks, notably JPM and BoA, for discriminating against him. JP Morgan who Trump accused of refusing this money say they look forward to Trump examining harsh Biden regulations. The bank also said they have accounts for many of Trump family members and always have. And that they have deposits of Trump-connected political funds.

I am always leery of initial complaints about being discriminated against business as the real reason amyl be you are not promotable material or as good at your job as you think you are. Or that there may be a financial risk.

The Nice thing about egoists is that they don’t talk about other people”

ESPN just invested heavily into Streaming as its future. Why in the future will people buy Cable with its array of easy-to-get channels when the important games and biggest entertainment events will be bought by streamers. The evolution to streaming adds nothing into my life.

Jerry Seinfeld noted that multiple surveys say that the number one fear among humans is public speaking. Number too fear is death. Does that seem right, he wonders. For the average person going to a funeral it means they are better off in the casket than giving the eulogy.

The Answer:

They are the AMC Gremlin, “Horsey Horseless(1899), Chevy Vega, Hummer H2, Olds Cutlass Supreme Diesel, Fuller Dymaxion (1933), Ford Taurus (1996), Renault Dauphine (1956), Caddy Cimmeron (1982), Caddy Fleetwood (1981), Morgan Plus Propane (1975) and of course, the Ford Edsel. Some others were the Jaguar 1990, Chevy Chevette, AMC Pacer, Yugo GV, Pontiac Aztec, Ford Pinto, and Chevy Corvair. Actually, if the Corvair hadn't been so dangerous it was a nice little car.

They really messed up the Cadillac brand in the 1980’s didn't they. In the eighties, people in the industry were saying that GM cars were designed by accountants. Sorry accountants.

Heres a classic something or other:
