Pausing, breathing normally.

Today's Tids Issue 5,882

Muddied:

Happy Labor Day E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!! I really don't celebrate it as I prefer inactivity to labor.

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. --Marie Curie

I wonder what Marie would think about Artificial Intelligence.

College football season started yesterday and continues today, But the big game is tomorrow between Ohio State, last year's champ, and this year's favorite at the top of the preseason poll -- Texas, The odd thing is that even though the Longhorns are picked as number one, the Buckeyes are favored in this game. The promotion for the game will be centered around the Manning family’s latest addition to pigskin adulation Arch Manning, QB for Texas. He is the son of the Manning brother who wasn't a Saturday hero, Cooper.  Get ready for over-the-top interviews. Regardless, it may be a good game.

The problem with College Football is that it wipes out local news programs on weekends. Actually. I shouldn't be so hard on the morass of football games. The Netwerks are broadcasting anything that looks like a sport well past 6:00 on weekends all year long.

The Question:

Who is Whitcomb Judson?

The Headlines:

--PCE Core Inflation Index Comes in as Predicted with .3% increase in Inflation. Stocks to Open Lower; Street Pricing in 85% Chance for Rate Reduction.

In case you haven't noticed the news filtering in, US Tariffs have countries choosing sides between US and China. Of greatest interest is the growing relationship between the largest country India and the second largest country China. India Premier Modi will be visiting China this week for the first time in seven years for a summit with Xi. Their move to a possible economic alliance could cause a lot of global shifting.  After all, money is king.

The most useless thing in sports entertainment are sideline athlete interviews. Catching harried coach for a cliched phrase Infact all interviews with sports celebs are pretty much the same and really not worth watching. And now, did you see that they have sideline reporters for Little League WS games

I used to think I was going blind until I discovered my eyebrows were too long.

Computer and phone connectivity at many levels can be frustrating. My latest problem revolves around excessive Cheete dust in the recharging socket.

Rhode Island celebrates Labor Day all year long.

I was thinking considering the new world of spontaneous public violence that the most dangerous place to shop could be those fancy upscale kitchen and home accessory stores where anybody with crazed mind would have easy access to some pretty severe looking knives on display

When you think about it, the safest way to shop is over the Internet.

It was nice to see Tommy Fleetwood win it on FedEx tourney three, but why have the first two tournaments when they didn’t appear to contribute to the final outcome except in the paring down of fields. Maybe they should distribute points for each leg of the FedEx cup. Like 50 points for first place and counting down for Tourney one. Then 75 for #2 and down, and 100 down for #3. It turns out that Fleetwood and Scheffler were most consistent and they tied in cumulative points 220 to 220. But Scottie got the year long crown by a wide margin which gives him the tiebreaker. Yeah, I know, I have too much time on my hands

If you drink don't drive. Don’t even putt.

The Thursday Murder Club is enjoyable. But I thought it was a series instead of a movie. It could be a good series. Old people cliches do get a little tiresome, though.

At least we produce grapefruit juice in the USA so my breakfast should be ok.

It seems that the severe problem in the minds of potential shooters is that they don’t see or feel the horror of the massacres, but only see them as benchmarks for their own actions to surpass.

A serving of good ole’ vanilla ice cream bare and naked is still my favorite desertOf course, Butterscotch sauce isnt too bad either. Have you noticed that caramel sauce is the new favorite for sweetening ice cream. I think Butterscotch is better.

Providence College just announced the featured entertainer for the start of their 2025-26 basketball seasonCarrie Underwood. I cant imagine that may of the players know who she is. But the alumni who pay the salaries will.

Why can't the Red Sox get sluggers like Kyle Schwarber?

The Answer:

Judson has been acclaimed as the inventor of the Zipper. But his invention was cumbersome hooks and Eye mechanism introduced at the Chicago World's Fair. Not so. It is Gideon Sundback who is acknowledged to be the inventor of eth interlocking closure as we know it today. His invention was the result of his grief over teh death if his wife. He poured himself into developing the much improved device over the Judson product, and in the process burying his grief.

It is raining like hell right now and it feels beautiful.

But it looks like a pretty darn nice weekend for Labor Day revelers and the official end of summer. And before the next wave of Autumn tourists.

Hope the burgers and juicy and red and the hot dogs sinful.

See you again on Monday, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
