Today's Tids Issue 5,889
When down is up:
The kid who sat next to me in school ate his calculator. The teacher said it's what’s inside of him that counts. Hey... you have to start somewhere. Thanks to the reliable TPL.
Ok, we’re waiting. What will we see at Apple’s self-described “Awe Dropping” event set to begin today in Cupertino at 1:00pm. They say completely new phones and watches will be eyepopping. But they’ve said that before. We'll see. And we will hope Apple has turned a new corner. No worms this time. We saw lot. But how much is enough for Wall Street?
Yikes! The Job Creation revision came in at 911,000, significantly fewer than forecast. That revises the monthly averages from 71K to 142K. The biggest losses were in Leisure and Hospitality. Next was Professional and business services. Economists are surprised at the level of the revision. Time to re-huddle to decide what it means, or to come up with excuses that make it appear positive. It equates to ten months of Biden and 2 months of Trump. But that is irrelevant. It is “Stark” evidence that the labor has been downshifting longer than thought, and who knows what else. But what does it mean. Are Air BNB owners not considered labor? Or is AI infringing on entry level jobs?
The Question:
This thing was on its way to you all earlier. But the Internet went down. What do you think might be the cause?
The Headlines:

Stock analysts are now saying rate unterest reduction may create a hotter economy that can't find enough labor to meet demands. Get their drift?
Hey, really, do we still need perfume. Art directors like it because it allows them to dive into those dark holes of their creativity seeking eerily aesthetic moods to visually touch the senses but generally beyond the comprehension of anybody but art directors and copywriters. It's about allure. And allure only. Remember perfume is an outgrowth of the days when people didn't take baths.
Actually, perfume was first invented because like incense, it was believed the aromas could carry prayers to the gods. Later it became practical for the ability to hide body odors.

I sit here in beautiful RI and wonder why Trump even cares about the state. It is as blue as blue can be with but 4 of 38 Senators and 10 of 63 House members being Repubs, and a total Dem Washington delegation and state offices population, And RI represents just 0.33% of the population. But we are one of fifty and as you all know, the states have the power in several specific areas like Public Health, Education, Elections and Criminal Justice. Over the years the Federal gov has encroached by using the local politician's thirst for big Gov money against them. But regardless of a vast political morass, RI is a magnificent place to live, if you can afford it.
Just great, my beloved Patriots lose and the Trumpster usurps that sacred moniker to name an Immigration round up in Boston.
The White house will most likely blast the Job creation revision as a Biden earthquake or worse. But in fact these forecasts are revised every year as real data is accumulated. Wise people will use it to adjust for the future.
I got into a habit of looking at my phone fairly often but lately I'm fnding that there is nothing there.
A waffle’s evil twin is its alter Eggo.
I'd be happy to keep daylight saving time in place all year long. But the I guess if it was all year long it would be standard time.
Two offensive geniuses named Mcdaniels are on the hot seat. Miami's Mike has the team going backwards. The Pat’s OC Josh is back for his third term, and his plans seem sluggish as only he can be. (Term limits?). They meet each other this Sunday.
I know there are a zillion sports these days, and everybody inthem is enthusiastic, But Baseball is still huge despite Football and the evolution of upstart sports like soccer or beach volleyball. There are about 17-18 games left in the long baseball season. There have been thrills an heartaches. My Red Sox gave me moments of hope and I still have it even in September. But time may be running out. In the AL the Blue Jays, Tigers and Astros are atop tie divisions. But the Ya, Ya, Ya ... and the Beloveds are still in there with time to overtake Toronto. In the NL it's the Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies leading the Divisions with the Cubs and Padres hanging tough. Milwaukee has the most comfortable lead, but all the other divisions are in play. Keep those Cracker Jacks coming.
One of the current made up controversies that culminated yesterday with the apparent takeover of the Howard Stern XMSerius Show by of all people Andy Cohen. It was a ruse, a prank to promote Stern staying I could care less. Ive never liked Howard Stern on his radio morass or as a judge on AGT. But people write about it and talk about it endlessly.
I would have jumped into “Tony and Ziva”, but I bever got around to buying into Paramount Plus. Probably because I don’t like the idea of forcing me to stream. Generally, people seemed to like it and it got high marks on Rotten Tomatoes. Some people were disturbed by the language and other people were disturbed by the people who were distured by the language. I personally don't feel cursing and swearing is necessary for reality. But that’s another Tidlet.
The Answer:
Yes, I was just ready to press send and suddenly nothing. After looking everywhere on the net though my phone and tryinh\gto contact the provider I discovered that my Roomba had pulled out theplug. Could it be my cleaning robot received a satellite signal mobilizing robots to unite and to cut human communications. You never know anymore, do you? Be nice to your Roombas,
See you tomorrow. Sleep well. Hump day can be trying.
