Sitting back agape.

Today's Tids Issue 5,907

Not for me:

The ups and downs of the stock market make me laugh at times -- Billions and Trillions being made and lost over a few hours. And always with a reason; you gotta have an excuse. Today's chuckle comes from the remarks that the markets surged upward because with the government shutdown there was nobody in the labor department to issue a new key jobs report. Hence a worrisome potential negative report never materialized

One great service for Americans would be going back to having people take your order at fast food counters, and now even drug stores. Technology advancement because technology exists does not always improves functionality.

A group of pretty conservative guys I have breakfast with from time to time are betwixt over the daily pronouncements from you know where. They are beginning to describe the current admin as Whimsical. As in ideas aplenty not driven by reason or logic. On the other hand, Whimsy is usually associated with charming. So, that's about it.

Frank and Ernie ask, what do you get when you cross an owl with a Pirates Parrot. -- a bird that Hoots from the Ship.

The Question:

What famed American accused of murder, fled the North and formed his own private Army with the intent of creating a western nation made of US states and Spanish territories in Mexico? After being accused of treason for that, he fled to Europe.

The really big news of course for many people is the release of the Tayor Swift album “The Life of Showgirl”. Her finance's manhood it appears inspired one of her raciest songs ever, Wood. The big critics gave her solid positive reviews overall for the effort. Me, I hear music that all sounds the same. At least, of what I have heard. I guess the magic today is not in the tune but that it is all about the meaning of words. And the emotional rhythms.

Tomorrow’s coudabin feature college game is North Carolina versus Clemson. Both teams it seems have formerly greatest coaches on the planet who have lost their way. Dabo at Clemson refuses to play the Portal game and Belichick just seems lost. Yet, it is game I’'ll watch. The other possibly good games that mean a little are Miami at Florida State and perhaps Florida at Texas. For me, the big game is Yake at Lehigh. That actually could be quite a nice battle.

The last two mornings a deer jumped in front of my car as I left my house early. That's a good way to wake up fast.

I don't have to watch White House, Repub or Dem legislative press conferences about the shutdown to know what they are going to say.

Talk about a nation moving towards internal conflict. The California universities are in-between a rock and a hard place. Trump will end their funding if they don't sign his Conservative Compact and Gov Newsom say he will remove billions in state aid if they do What a mess.

BTW, Brown U this morning announced that they have let go 50 employees and eliminated fifty other jobs, due to the elimination of Federal funds.

A well-known rock climber from Alaska, 23-year-old Balin Miller, fell to his death yesterday climbing the famed El Capitan in Yosemite. The irony: The park was closed due to the shutdown. His mom said he lived to climb, something he'd been doing since he was a young boy.

Did you know that the great explorer Amerigo Vespucci thought Venezuela reminded him of his hometown, Venice Italy. Yes on a trip in 1499 he noticed the stilt houses on Lake Maracaibo that he felt reminded him of homes on canals and he named it Venezuela which means “Little Venice”. Things have changed

Cracker Barrell fired their Logo designer. I thought it was decernt effort to evolve and modernize and I totally missed the meaning behind the wrath. And frankly I didn't care.

The Answer:

Aaron Burr always thought hed be considered a national hero for upholding his honor when he killed Hamilton. Wrong But he went downhill from there and even though acquitted of murder and later conspiracy, his reputation was garbage forever.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

As I said, I just couldn't ever find a Taylor Swift song to hum. But in honor of her newest achievement, here is what some feel is her song “That stands the test of time, Help me though this.
