Odder and...:
As we go picking apples on glorious autumn days; strolling in peaceful dales; the aromas of cider brewing... have you noticed also how important the apple has been in history from ruining Adam’s contentment to inspiring Newton with ground breaking physics theories; to better Bytes of the apple by a company by that name. To America and hotdogs and ice cream and Apple pie. There is something about an apple, right Johnny.
Newton’s law of politics: For every party redistricting, there is an eqaul and opposite other party redistricting.
Retirement would be easy if technology wasn't always offering upgrades.
The Question:
What are considered America’s five favorite types of Apples?

Ok. Major league sports has adopted gambling across the board with gambling company sponsorships. Everybody says, “Its just good fun”, “Gives you a stake in games.” But anybody who has been a gambler knows it is insidious, a dangerous addiction. This morning it was announced that 31 players coachers hangers on and organized crime members have been arrested by the FBI. Personally, I don't understand the mechanics of betting, but “Prop” bets are one concept that involves individual player activity. There is a lot more to come from this story, but now when you watch a game, what will you think. This is not what sports needs now that is ius one of the biggest industries around.
The ole’ Tidspickers woke up going 10-3 last week and it could have been 11-2 without the NY Giants monumental collapse. We are at 64.5-41.5 (61%) Percentages go down much faster than they recover. This week ahead looks weird from here. And as we have seen so far this year many a so-called “Safe” pick have not been safe. For instance, I think tonight could go either way. \Minn and the Chargers are both suspect. I'll go Chargers. I think particularly tough choice are the games between Balt-Chi, Jets-Cinn, San Fran–Houston, Dallas-Denver and Pitt-The Pack. The Ravens can't score without Jackson, and he will not play. I’ll reluctantly pick da Bears. The Jets are in a tossup game because Cincy which should be a big fave has looked average. The Jets are due, right? Nah, Flacco makes Cincy better. McCaffery is running wild but how long can he last? I think Houston will upset the Niners. Pitt is tough, but Rogers will not beat his old team which is better. Enver has been one of my favorites, But Dallas is looking better. I'll go with the cowboys.
Moving on... I just don't see the Eagles losing to the Giants twice. Miami seems to get worse each game so I'll go Atlanta. I gotta believe Buffalo will come out swinging against Carolina. The Bills don't lose three in a row. But it could be close. Tampa Bay lost super receiver Evans, but they won't lose to New Orleans. Indy just seems to get better each week, and though Tennessee tries to get better we each week, Indy‘s gap is too big. KC as found their mojo and the Commanders are going to be without QB Jayden Daniels. I go KC. The NE Pats are playing really well. The Brown's Myles Garret will harass Drake Maye but I think The Pats have found something special Go Pats.
Newtons second law of Politics: An object stays atrest and an object in motion continues in motion in the same direction and at the same speed unless acted upon by the external force of midterm elections
I’ve talked about the apparent sudden rise in Helicopter crashes. And sadly, it happened again yesterday as four members of a young family - Mother Father and two children – plus three others died. I hope somebody is watching. And acting.
Everybody sems to enjoy the powerful and moving fourth movement of Saint Sans “Organ” Symphony, and I do too. But there is something special about drifting into reveries while listening to the second movement,
The CEO of Microsoft just had his salary bumped up to $94 Million because his AI strategy is paying off. It's nice to know that a guy who runs one of the largest businesses on the planet is making more than an NBA Player.
The Celtics opened last night to a one-point loss. Sounds close, but I saw a team that needs a lot more to get anywhere.
A letter signed by Prince Harry, several global dignitaries and many of the leading scientists involved in the Development of AI, caution us about the protentional threat of runaway applications of the technology. The problem is though that AI may be able to run amok all by itself.
The homeowner costs may be accelerating due to the corporization of many small trade's groups like people who clean out gutters clean houses and for handy men in general. Everything can be tied together through an app these days. Sounds cool but may be more expensive.
The Answer:
Number one is Gala followed by Red Delicious, Fuji, Grannie Smith and Honeycrisp. But many would argue for Golden Delicious, McIntosh Red, Pink Lady, Braeburn, Empire, Cortland or Rome. But when I lived amidst apple orchards, the McCoun was rated best by kids who knew.
Ah the apple, family fun and romance, and a little patriotism too:
