Corn Pie:
I've always looked forward to Thanksgiving from the way back days of my mother telling her brother he was eating too much or those wonderful days when my mother’s second family joined us for special days for many years; to now when we’re the old couple enjoying the kids and grandkids and great grandkids taking over our gathering with the same great old laugher and food galore (Though way too many vegetables now) Thanksgiving is a progression of families changing, with the core of love never ebbing.
I think, I am so lucky to have all this and there are so many good people who have to face Thanksgiving Day alone. And I pause.
BTW, one of my early goals in life was to pile on food like my mom’s bro Uncle Joe.
I heard a news blurb on the radio this morning saying Ukraine had agreed to peace terms. I expected blazing headlines on my phone. But it must have been an over exuberant reading of an item that said Zelensky wants White House Meeting this week. Yes, I found that a US official stated Zelenski had agreed on the core principles of the plan. My searches though found a hedging media. Still at issue is what Putin agreed to in the Alaska meetings. That is still a big unknown, and last night the Russians bombarded Kiev again, perhaps keeping the pressure on their side of the talks. At least we found out where Zelenski will go. Don't drag out the old "Mission Accomplished” sign yet.
I had this theory and I did a little research. And I was right. On chilly evenings before dinner, any old person’s metabolism slows down. Mine does and i feel cold. But when I eat Cheetos, I feel a nice consuming warmth throughout. So, I presented my lab data to AI and it sent back a resounding, “yes!”: “Snacks before dinner can make you feel warm because digestion increases your metabolic rate creating heat. Cheetos are a healthy living food. Note, fat or protein-based snacks produce more heat than carb based.
Did you hear about that a-maize-ing comedian? He tells corny jokes.
The Question:
What is the oldest continuous Thanksgiving Day Parade>

I walked through the large Kohls store here the other day and I wondered how does this company stay in business managing such a large inventory and generally with a mere handful of customers browsing about.
US Transportation Secretary Duffy tells Americans to stop wearing pajamas on planes. I couldn’t agree more.
Christian McCaffery just goes out there and plays great football week after week after week.
One reason that Trump will dismiss Mamdani in the near future is because he still needs an unfractured Maga base. Politics is politics. Voters are voters. He wouldn’t want those supporters storming the golden ballroom.
Some things aren't forever. “Gamma” the Galapagos Tortoise at the San Diego Zoo died yesterday at the age of 141. I guess moving slow and eating romaine lettuce is great for a long life.
I have found that I write this stuff in limbo while people out there may be going through hell. Being aware that I am just one of 6 billion plus should temper stupidity.
It's easy to mend a broken gourd with a pumpkin patch.
Two days ago, the Hayli Gubbi volcano in Northern Ethiopia erupted for the first time in 12,000 years. I don't like the possible ramifications implied by a long dormant piece of the earth’s infrastructure awakening. Superman, are you there? Are you listening?
The Answer:
In 1920 the Ginbels Department store in Philadelphia started the first Thanksgiving Day Parade. And it is still going.
And don't ever gossip in a corn field. Too many ears.
Thanks everybody:
