Of course I’m excited; Everybody else is.

Today's Tids Issue 3,121
Opening Stuff:

Of course the big significant news yesterday was the New York Supreme Court overturning the large drink ban in NYC… as illegal. In a small way that is gigantic for all Americans. You just can’t have idealistic Pols foisting upon free thinking Americans their convoluted ideas for saving humanity. If they die, they figured out wrong. First it’s big drinks, the next thing you know it is gravy. Thank God for checks and balances.

I got a bit worried yesterday as I sat back to watch the tube. First I started to get very cold, and became seriously unnerved when realizing I could only see dead black on the screen. I blinked several times to no avail. Then I realized that I had turned on the TV with the AC remote.

Beware of the Ides of July. That’s about all I have to say about the currently confused stock markets.

It is concerning that banks in order to meet growth objectives are once again turning to the sup-prime borrower to increase credit card sales. Yikes! Isn’t that what drown the banks in 2008, borrowing by people who could not pay back? Is there enough dough left in the treasury to bail out again these irresponsible “businessmen” one more time? Yes, sub-prime loans are up 30% last month and the addition of 3.7 million new cards to suspect debtors is equal to the highest point of the financially inept 2008! But that is the problem when Wall Street determines business decisions; when the denizens of the financial capital demand more and more blood from stones. The “Big Casino” is getting out of control again.

The Question:
Screenwriter, actor, composer, director and TV producer JJ (Jeffery Jacob) Abrams is probably one of the hottest contributors to better than average TV these days. Name five of his shows. He started in film – name four movies. Weekend Bonus: What are the 5 most over-bought stocks on the S&P?

I saw a headline yesterday, “America renews its love affair with butter.” Renews? I must be Rip Van Winkle.

I guess I’m not caught up in soccer. I forgot to say “Go USA” in yesterday’s Tids. I guess that’s why they lost.

Who says you can’t have hot soup in summer, Department:
If the air conditioning gets a little too cold, here’s a couple-a-three soup recipes. 1. Butternut Squash soup. In a pot melt 3 tbs butter and add ¾ cp chopped onion, 2 lbs inch chunks peeled seeded butternut squash, one cored green apple in 1 inch chunks, ½ cup chopped toasted pecans (And brandy?) Cook and stir one min. Now add 1/3 cup OJ, .tsp ginger and tsp nutmeg. Cook for 32 mins, stir. (Note, several fires arose just after I started this soup section, and now I’m running out of time. More next week.)

The Grandson of the former wealthiest guy in the Senate, Clayborn “Grants” Pell is running for Governor here and is a classic example of what nobody in this country needs. RI is highest in unemployment and his idea is to create jobs on the backs of overburden taxpayers with infrastructure work. Now I’m for a sound infrastructure. But that’s one od f the two or there reasons I pay into the state and town coffers. So, once again A Dem totally ignores the real problem which is burdensome state regulations and high costs of doing business in the state. This is no solution, except perhaps, for a socialist.

The NLRB made 451 labor decisions during time Obama’s two illegally appointed board members were in chairs of power. You  could have a great new reality show watching Business fight the wrongs made under the watch of th e bogus NLRB members.

Knights of old bought their suits of armor at the Hard-Wear Store.

By the way one of the most festinating museums in the USA is in Worester Mass. It features 4,000 items of 11th to 13th century armor and assorted battle accoutrements. It is metal artistry at its-finest. Unfortunately the magnificent building housing the collection just closed, despite a healthy endowment and 60,000 visitors a year. The good news is that the beautiful metalware will be moving to the Worcester Museum of Art. Check it out of you find yourself on the way North through Worcester.

Soccer fans are an odd group of humans. Yesterday I saw thousands cheering madly after a tough loss. They must be of the trophies-for-all generation.

Well Tiger is back and he says he feels fantastic. He opened with a 74 placing him in 94th place, which Is not so fantastic. He’s like an enlightened soccer fan, “I’m losing but feeling really good about it.”

If I throw out into the Tids a lyrical sounding, rather innocuous phrase, a liberal might say, “That is so beautiful. I wonder what the hidden meaning may be?”. A conservative would say, “What a weirdo.”.

Actually my Google Blogspot stopped trending when I omitted extensive coverage of World Cup.

The Answer:
JJ gave me one of my favorites, Person Of Interest. He also gave us Jennifer Garner in Alias. Yikes, this manis magical. Among other TV series are Fringe, which I understood 27% of the time, Lost, Revolution, Felicity and a loser – Undercovers. He was involved with two Star Trek movies, and this St, Lawrence U grad also produced Cloverfield, Morning Glory, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. He acted In Six Degrees of Separation. Pretty clever guy. Weekend Bonus: The Overbought stocks ae Sandisk, Newfield Exploration, ConocoPhillips, NRG Energy and Marriott International.

Overheard from a rabid WX fan in sports bar: “This is great! I can hardly wait for four more years when I can watch soccer again.”

Have a great weekend…E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!
