Popcorn Night?

Today's Tids Issue 4,744

TV Date:

I think there is a TV program on tonight that should get a little viewership. It should be about a battle of selfless words, considered plans for the future of a country between to gentleman vying to become the so-called leader if the Free world. This is a momentous event, something special which leaders of all countries will be looking at closely. But will it just be another schoolyard brawl filled with exaggerations, hyperbole and yes senseless nastiness. Some say Trump will misuse his current strategy pointing out how Joe Biden’s mind might be losing it, But all the Prez is doing which with that is lowering expectations for Joe, and if Joe just looks reasonably neutral to people than he is the outright winner. It appears that Joe will hammer away at DT’s taxes and his choice for SC who will be characterized as a killer of healthcare in the middle of a pandemic. This could be like a TV program never ever before seen in history. Will it be SNL, or worthy of the President of the USA.

Now that I got that off my mind, lets talk about something nice.  Like a bowl of gummy rice, doused with a lemon chicken flavored sauce. Its easy to satisfy my dietary tastes, but harder and harder to convince me of the quality of those who would lead.

One of the Tids great readers who I haven’t heard from in a while, a truly terrific man, wrote yesterday to suggest that American sprinter Wilma Rudolph should have been among the top ten best spots woman yesterday. Wilma, after all wore a brace in child hood and was told that she would never walk. And, she became a world record-holder Olympic Champion. Wilma just went out and did it, and you can imagine the tears and the pain it took to get there.

Those sudden wildfires in Sanoma/Napa were horrifying, I can’t imagine the fear in the hearts of people who one minute were comfortable in their homes, and in the next minute were running for their lives.

The Question:

Name the Top Ten All-Time Music Albums.

Headlines:

--Falling GDP Estimates Could Irk Wall Street Today: Stocks Drifting.

--Presidential Debate Tonight.

--Corona Virus Passes 1,000,000 Deaths Worldwide.

--Pelosi And Dems Unveil New $2.2 Trillion Stimulus Package; Pelosi And Mnuchin Remain In Contact, But Progress Is Minimal.

--Ferocious Glass Fire Has Consumed More Than 36,000 Acres.

The truth of politics is that neither side is going to let the other have Stimulus package victory 5 weeks before an election.

How people try to fool us, Department:

Consumers are lured to pay extra for eggs with the Designation, “No Hormones.” Don’t shell out an extra penny to this product from Henny. By law, “All chickens that produce eggs are barred from being given hormones.” All eggs for consumption are egg-actly the same!

Speaking of Henny, the original Henny Youngman’s

tells us, “When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.” “I got all the money I’ll ever need, if I die before four o’clock”. “Every time I ask what time it is, I get a different answer>”

A lot of national auto repair chains have facilities that look sharp organized and clean. But it is often the shop that looks disorganized and dirty where all the good mechanics land. Afterall, it is only about mechanics.

“An organization created out of fear, must create fear to survive.” Bill Hicks.

Nobody in 2015 got the answer to this following question right: “Where do you think oyu will be in five years?”

“Aging gracefully is a nice way of saying you are slowly looking worse.”

News events lose their luster fast these days. All weekend it ACB, and more ACB, but so far this week it has been something entirely different.

Times change, Department:

We just got a fax. At work. We didn’t know we had fax machine. The entire department just stared at it. I poked it with a stick.

You know, asking questions like this and seeing the answers, lead me to believe I lead a pretty sheltered life. What happened to Bing Crosby?

Typically, Trump supporters will think DT trounced Joe and Dems and a lot of the media will rejoice feeling that Joe was outstanding. But which one will appeal to the all-important fence sitters? That is always the question.

“A wiseman once said…nothing, he only listened.”
