Pumpkins and spice and heads full of lice.

 Today's Tids Issue 5,879

Gathering Moss:

Kids in four towns around here start school this week. Moms will be sipping seasonal coffee as they feel a little ache in their hearts watching them go, and a little sense of freedom too. And here am I thinking native corn season a has just begun. Yeah, I know.

Trump keeps on sending issues to the Supreme Court which he can see as precedent setting to his benefit. That's what a  lot of it is all about. His firing of the Fed governor will get him there. And he certainly will be before the judges if he goes forward with demanding the FCC pull the license of NBC and APC because 96.5 % of what they report is against him You can’t make this stuff up. Oh, right, he does.

“43.7 % of statustics are made up on the spot.” --Stephen Wright.

The Question:

Stephen Wright from the beginning has avoided current events, big company brands and politics in his act as he likes absurdities that are timeless. He told one pollical joke. What was it.

Just in case you are interested, the Fed was set up as have All Central Banks in Democratic, capitalist countries as independent from the Government to guard against politicizing financial decisions that are designed to protect employment, stable pricing and properly control long and short term interest rates. It promotes the stabilty of the financial system, and safety andsoundnesss of financial institutions. And consumer protection. It fosters payment and settlement system safety. While totally independent of the Government the Fed must report to Congress once a year. Members sare appointed by the President and must be approved by the Senate. Since the inception of The Federal Reserve by an act of congress in 1913, no President has fired a Governor.

Anybody who doesn't think tariffs will affect anything, check out coffee. I just came back from the big supermarket and even the store brands were in shocksville. The premium brands were beyond comprehension. Expect to see some management shifts in the coffee business.

On the other hand, Keurig/Dr. Pepper is buying Peets Coffee for $18 Billion. Maybe they know something about coffee prices

Does he ever sleep?

The Tids Punster Laureate is having a bad golf week, He is regripping his ball retriever.

Today is cut-down day for the NFL, 90 to 53. It's got to be traumatic for these kids with aspirations. Think of the sweat and aches and pans as young players were driven by hope to make the cut. And the, “I’m Sorry kid, but I liked the way you hustled.” And te kid is thinking, maybe I should have studied in college.

It's also National Dog Day. Wag your tail and be happy.

The Answer:

"I just read a book that was very political. It’s about a theory that the end of the cold war produced global warming.” I like it.

See you tomorrow, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
