Today's Tids Issue 5,913
People agree:
It’s a beautiful day to me
For on it many years ago.
My daughter’s eyes
I first did see.
Now I’m an awful dad,
Saying, “many years”,
Is very, very bad.
What 's really bad is the way political strategists have redefined all Repubs as conservative and Democrats as Liberal for the purposes of getting votes. How division instead of uniting is the way to get a majority. Yet, we all know that that there are conservative, moderate and liberal Democrats just as there are similar breakdowns among Repubs. That leanings can change by issue. That humans have minds of their own until they are elected. And that division is the worst thing for a country whose first name is United. That's what really irks me today.
Looks like we are in for a good ole’ batten down the hatches Nor’easter this weekend. I love a good Nor’easter as long as nobody gets hurt. I love the wind and the driving rain. And the feeling of calm when the earth slows down again.
The Question:
Beyond the powerhouse college football programs there are a lot smaller programs which are playing very good football. Typically, the difference between smaller college programs and the bigs isn’t necessarily skill sets but size and speed. Name the TOP Ten FCS football teams (The Big Conferences are in FSB)... and go out and watch a game.
The Headlines:

Let's hope tis weekend we can properly celebrate the achievements of the courageous explorer Christopher Columbus without the usual insanity of Columbus haters.
There is little more unnecessary for movies than explosions or car chase scenes. Or even romantic sprees upon delicious scenery as lush music plays. Just give me a plot I don’t understand until the end. The Writers are the key, but alas, we live in a world of special effects and stunts.
My Montauk Daisies looked quite perky this morning after last night’s near freeze. That;s good.
I generally wear khaki pants or jeans because they go with any other colors.
Did you ever notice that colors don’t clash in nature.
I really worry about what kind of the shape these hostages will be in after two years. How many will be dead. But I expect that all those waiting will only see through their hearts. Will only feel the love that never left.
This seems to be one of those downer Wall Street weeks where surges by darlings like NVidia makes the numbers look better than they are.
Health care became so expensive because there were so many money pols that companies and institutions in the industry could dip into. If we stayed with free trade marketing prices would tend to stabilize in favor of consumers, that is, if consumers were smart consumers.
I don't worry about a lot, but I do worry about space junk falling from the sky. It seems crowded up there.
I don’t see much on the NCAA football sched for this weekend that interests me. There will be fever pitch excitement among the big college fans colleges fans like Georgia-Auburn or Ohio State- Illinois, Bama-Missouri and even Pitt-Florida State. If Wisconsin was any good, the Miss-Wis intersectional game could be important. Around here we have Clemson coming to Boston to play BC. BC is way down this year, and Clemson is finding something lately. Me, I'm interested in Lehigh-Columbia. LU is now Top Ten in FCS rankings.
The Answer:
Number One is North Dakota State followed by South Dakota State. Then we have Tarlton State, Montana, Montana State, UC Davis, Tennessee Tech, Lehigh, Southern Illinois and Illinois State. Interesting that Harvard playing dominant football in the Ivy league just moved into the Top 25. Remember when the Ivys produced Heisman Winners?
I love these crystalline skies.
So bright, so clear.
You can see smiles
In seagull’s eyes.
You can feel their freedom,
As they soar on high;
As they hover on breezes,
Winds that drive the mist
Washing over my face.
In my calming, seagull place.
Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
