High and Dry.

Today's Tid's Issue 5,940

Panic:

It's a wintry day and even Calloway Super Soft Golf balls are like rocks. So, obviously winter is upon us. A bobcat, coyotes and of course thr rabbits, waddling turkeys, squirrels and woodchucks are out back monitoring food potential for the long days ahead. And the rabbits look most nervous. Maybe it's time to stop walking tje wooded trails. They say these animals are afraid of humans unless they are rabid. For a guy who has never one the lottery I’m sure to meet the teh animal that's rabid. Does the Tids have any direction yet?

The Cheetos aficionados across the country are om high alert writing to give em a heads up on Cheetos and other snacks that will never seem the same. They will be colorless losing taht orange yummy sensation. Pepse says not to worry because the taste is still there. Taht ls what Cole said when they bombed with “New Cole”! Thanks RFK Jr. No more orange fingers. Yikes.

Mikaela Schiffein just keeps on breaking records. She dominated the recent World Cup ski event, recording her 102nd victory of her truly amazing career. Now there’s an American who is making s look great again to the rest of the world.

I changed a lightbulb this morning. That went well.

A local columnist was writing about the extraordinary high cost of everything to do with the Soccer World Cup due aroung here next summer. He ended with a phrase that encapsulates a lot. America, home of the brave  and the land of the fleeced.”

Whoever put the "S" in fastfood is marketing genius.

The Question:

What percentage of Colonists remained loyal to the British Crown, Tories/Loyalists. after the Revolutionary war started?

The Headlines:

--Markets Frittering in Positive Territory Early Awaiting NVidia Earnings and Delayed September Jobs Report; Markets Dive Deeply at Closing as Waiting for NVidia rattle nerves; Bitcoin Tumbles Again Bewildering Investors. Berkshire Hathaway Takes $5 Billion Stake in Alphaet (Google0.

--Trump Reverses Opinion on Epstein Now Saying Repubs  Should Vote to Release Files.

--AP Top Five NCAA College Football remains Similar Minus Alabama Dropping to 10. The top none are Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

--PBS Release of Ken Burns New Big Documentary on Revolutionary War Tells Admin, “We are still Here”.

--Now trump Calling for Firing of Late Night Comedian Seth Meyers.

Treasury Secretary Bessant says that Trump needs approval from Congress before he can send citizens $2K. Yeah, now he seeks the approval of congress because he needs a fall guy to blame for not sending out check. And maybe his lawyers are telling him the SC is likeky to say tariffs are out because you went around congress.

How many octogenarians does it take to scree=w in a lightbulb? ..... .... ... I forgot.

Did you ever wonder what happened to Christo. You remember the artist who raised gobs of money to drape natrural beauty in polypropylene fabrics. He and wife Jeanne Claude had a long list of of projects for the future, but it is apparent they were denied by authorities. In searching for the reason behind his art ideas I came across a fact that his father owned a large fabric factory. He was probably told, Chris if you want to make it big in the fabric biz you have to find a way to make a profit from the remnants. A Bulgarian, He died in NY in2020.

In writing about Mikaela above i was thinking I would have loved being a skier of that super class. Unfortunately, I was well beyond the age of fearlessness when I began skiing. Which I did a bit into my mid-eighties. Yeah, I used to absorb beatings and bumps in my many past activities but now I have to guard against paper cuts when opening a box of tissues.

The last thing America needs is government agencies firing broadcast entertainers. Period.

A tree house is the biggest insult to a tree. "Here, I killed your friend. Hold him."

The Answer:

It is estimated by historians that about 20% of the 2,000,000 colonists remained loyal to the British Crown. At the end of the war many fled to Canada, Nova Scotia in particular. It was very uncomfortable for those who remained often attacked verbally and physically. But many over time found a way to reintegrate into the new American society.

See you tomorrow.
