Now it’s real.

Today;s Tids Issue 5,932

Just for a moment:

Well, the polls have spoken. News programs like Fox said the Dem sweep was no big deal and the news rooms like MSNBC said he earth just fell off its axis. There was an inkling of the future in these elections. Aside from the Socialist, who is getting all the news now, it appears to me that the Dems moved their party towards the middle. Nowadays people are liking the middle. BTW< Trump said that the reason the Dems won was because his name wasn’t on the ballot. Just in case you are interested.

It is fun to watch,

Politician depression;

Do elections botched’

Reduce their aggression.

I just can't believe that the Mamdani aura won't fade rapidly. What society has ever survived on government give-aways.

*C, E-flat, and G walk into a bar. The bartender shows them the door and says, “Sorry, we don’t serve minors.”

The Question:

What was the first engineering school in America?

The Headlines:

--New Jobs Report Shows Growth and Stocks react Positively; Private Sector Jobs increased by 42K in October; AMD Earnings Beat but Underwhelm.

--Dem Socialist Winns NYC Mayor Job; Dems win NJ and Virginia Govs by Double Digits; Cal Prop 50 Passes by 63.8%-36.2% (As of 7:58 this morning)

--World Watching US Supreme Court as Tariff’s Case Hits Docket.

--Death total in Frey Louisville UPS plane Crash up to Nine; Toll Could Rise as 16 Families say Loved Ones are Unaccounted For.

--Shut Down Becomes Longest in History.

--Jimmy Kimmel Launches “Big Beautiful Food Bank” to Help SNAP Recipients.

Today Judges Gorsuch, Roberts and Barrett joined left leaning Judges in their skepticisms over tariffs; Their concern echoed by Gorsuch seemed to be, “If the Court sided with the Trump team what would keep Congress from abdicating all responsibility to regulate foreign commerce.” He added he was struggling to to find a reason to believe US Solicitor General John Sauer’s arguments for the Administration. Right now it appears that Kavanaugh, Alito and Thomas are the only secure votes for the administration.

I don't know why, but A Star is Born with Cooper and Gaga was one of the saddest movies Id ever seen. Even more than Bambi. Actually, when I think about it, I don't know much about Bambi, I just remember people telling me I should feel sad, But Cooper losing got to me.

Remember good old ice cream headaches? Now I get the

same thing when my Metamucil is too cold.

America likes gamble more these days and one sure bet following yesterday's election is that the Cal approval of Prop 50 which could enable 5 more Dem seats will have a lot of states redistricting to give the dominant state party more seats. Political actions always beget retaliatory political actions.

The Only way Rhode Island could redistrict is to annex a third of Texas. And it would be all Dem in no time. RI unios will not be bullied... Or is that steered away from the Donkey.

Occasionally I’m depressed.

But if you know my style

You may have guessed.

I'd go out for a while

And watch a zinnia smile.

And feel I’m blessed.

Have you ever noticed that Schumans Piano concerto is somewhat similar to Grieg's. Maybe they were drinking buddies.

* By themselves, the musical notes C, E-flat, and G are simply tones, neither major nor minor. But when played all at once, they form a C-minor chord. It's a great joke if you want to get the orchestra pit laughing.

Actually, I'm a little depressed because teh Celtics seem a long, long way from being a contender. Maybe they have a secret plan. They were the NBA Champs celebrating in a Duck Boat parade just over 16 months ago, and now they have to dump the salaries of players who got them there. Free agency has been tough on fans. At least thats the way I look at it.

And now as college basketball starts coaches around the country are making lists of emerging potential stars a on small college teams so they can snag them next spring.

A Pun, a play on words and a limerick walk into a bar. No joke.

Maybe if the SC comes down hard on tariffs, Wall Street can get back to thinking smart. And, I can start affording coffee again.

The Answer:

In 1824 Steven Van Rensselaer was authorized to open an engineering school in Troy NY, which obviously became RPI  Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I applied to that still highly ranked College in my HS senior year... What could I have possibly been thinking. Engineering. Me.

I like duets, because normally there is a small connection you can see between singers. Even with Sonny and Cher singing I love you Babe. But here’s one I have to play every once in a while. Sorry to duplicate myself.
