Thou shalt not.

Today's Tids Issue 5,413

Ok, I'll take seven:

You know, state and local governments around the country, and the Fed themselves, seem to be going around parents to determine what should be what cannot be taught in schools. I think it would be good for the country if they taught the 10 Commandments. And if separation of Church and State gets in the way, just teach the final seven. The country needs a good dose of learning basic rules of civilized society, and human interaction and trust.

Remember the old expression about computer output: “Garbage in, Garbage out”. Think about poor AI. The experts tell me that AI needs loads and loads of quality data to fully operate up to its potential. I’m quite worried about the data it’s been seeing lately, the senseless murders, the inability of factions to understand each other in even the slightest possible way. Think about the available data will infect that innocent hunk of wires and chips

What is faster Hot or cold? Hot, because you can catch a cold. Sometimes you have to go mindless or you get lost in irrelevant anxiety.

The Question:

What were the ten top songs for 1984.

The Headlines:

--Earning Concerns Push Markets Down in Late Moring; Come off Lows at Closing; Netflix Disappoints; Tesla Missing by a Micron After Closing; IBM to Report After Closing.

--Two Teens Arrested for “Sweet Sixteen “Party Massacre; 17 Year Olds to be Tried as Adults.

--McCarthy Releases Pan to raise Debt Ceiling and Cut Spending.

--Pentagon Leak Case; Judge Postpones Teixeira Detention Hearing; Moves to Give Defense Lawyers more Time.

--SC Extends Pause on Limiting Pill Ban.

--Disney Cost Cutting will begin with ESPN Layoffs

The Republicans will kill each other. And then Joe B will finally announce for another term. Chris Christie just called Gov DeSantis a communist. Don Trump tossed his support to Disney. And those are just the first shots across the bow. Do you think maybe that Trump and allies are worried about DeSantis. By the way, in new polls Trump popularity is already down 16% from his Indictment bump. And DeSantis is up.

The senseless killings are wearing me down.

Amidst urban strife.

Exploding in a quiet country town

Evil doesn’t have boundaries anymore

I'm sitting here silently,

Staring vaguely at my floor,

Wondering

What will it take, God dammit,

For People to understand.

What has changed?

What can we explore?

Why are we going backwards?

Where has our childhood gone?

There is nothing I like better than running errands to a bunch of shops with local ownership. You always find a clerk or owner who is friendly, humorous and helpful like a good neighbor normally is. Give me a good ma and pa any day.

Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun.

Talk about change. I just read where the Fetterman victory over Oz was due almost entirely to the imagination of a recent Lehigh University Social Media Journalism/Politics Major who manipulated Tik Tok to its fullest to take town Oz.

Whether we like it or not, that is where it's at.

We see billboards and bumper stickers, but social media gets into people’s minds.

It appears that the moves from the northeast to pro-business states is much more than a pop culture fad. It is real and growing. The only companies left up here will be those that like scenery.

Undercutting trust in police is about as dumb and idea as any society can make.

Change is inevitable – except from a vending machine.

The Answer:

Billboard has “When Doves Cry” by Prince as #1 that year. Next is Tian Turner’s What's Love Gotto do with It, followed by “Say, Say. Say”, Footloose, Against all Odds, Jump, Hello, Owner of a lonely Heart, Ghostbusters and Karma ChameleonI don’t think I was into music in 1984. Or maybe that's what George Orwell was concerned about, uninspiring music clouding people's minds.

This song has nothing to do with 1984. I just like it and felt like playing it.
