Today's Tids: Issue 5,414
Walls:
In this brave new world we see looming yon, reading between the lines will become our most significant attribute, and grasping emotions our survival.
Hey, you have to start the Tids somewhere.
If you have a little time, you can eat some pretty great meals for very little money. The trick is preparing them yourself.
The original reason people began to shake hands was to show each other they weren't armed. Maybe we should get back to kinder customs.
Today while shaking hands with a stranger, you could quickly learn that the other hand is carrying a machete!
The Question:
What were the best movies of the1980’s?

There are some good singers on The Voice this year. And I like this rapper Chance, one of the new coaches. And that happy Irish kid. It will be just about a week or so until the Tids Entertainment Editors start filling your days with music reports and predictions. How great is that!
Not again! Two adults and one child in Gastonia NC were playing basketball. The ball rolled into a neighbor's yard; he came out and opened fire.
I know people keeping on saying nay, but these electronic killing games just have to lower the respect people have for people's lives. It appears that killing people of all ages is nowhere as a crime against humanity as is preserving some alleged entitlement.
I just wrote a book on reverse psychology – don’t buy it!
On similar subject, authorities in a local town were warning people to stay away from a local beach because coyotes were seen roaming there. The authorities said they were going to get rid of the coyotes ot protect the children. Guess what -- Children don’t count, at least to groups of animal lovers who came out to protest the removal of the coyote from their habitat. But now here is the rest of the Tidlet: After these coyotes on the beach became a hot new tourist attraction, it turned out that they were just big black dogs wandering. The owner, a former resident there, moved up state and left his dogs.
Has our society always been so callous and weird, or is digital communications just capable of passing along more odd happenings.
I dressed my dog up as a cat for Halloween. Now he won’t come when I call him.
RUD, Département:
RUD stands for Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly! Say what? To real people it means something exploded. This morning the big Space X rocket lifted off the pad and then after a few minutes exploded. It was called a RUD experience. Yikes! Whatever happened to plain speak. Immediately following, the Space X crack public relations department issued a news release saying the launch was very successful as they got the big rocket off the pad. They must write releases for presidential candidates too.
If you want to get married to a winsome lass who catches your eye in Athens Greece, toss her an apple. If she catches it, it means she accepts your proposal Does that mean that Greek female athletes always get married earlier.
The Answer:
I’ll give you a couple of lists. Rolling Stone says the top 10 are Do the Right Thing, Videodrome, The Raging Bull, Blue Velvet, Ran, Shoah, Blade Runner, Stranger than Paradise, The Thin Blue Line and Raiders of the Lost Ark. A site called “Timeout” Lists them as Blue Velvet, Bladerunner, E.T., The Shining, Ghostbusters, Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Raging Bull, Do the Right Thing and #10, The Empire Strikes Back. A third list from Rotten Tomatoes has it Back to the Future, E.T., Ghostbusters, The Empire Strikes Back, Sixteen Candles, The Shining, Raging Bull, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Do the Right Thing and #10, The Princess Bride. So, there you have it. On RT list, one of my favorite funny films, “Airplane” was #17.
Believe it or not, I actually have some days where I do something. This has been one of those weeks. The Tids should get back to moderately early tomorrow.
