“The Big East” is a fine basketball conference with one problem Nationally --- they eat their own... which is not necessarily good for national ratings. In the last two days Seton Hall and Providence took down National ranked 5 and 6 UConn and Marquette.
A reader reminded me yesterday after I wrote about the advantages of having unplowed roads for kid fun on snowy days in my youth – we would stand on a corner and when a car took off from a stop sign, we'd hang on the bumper for a sleigh ride on our feet. Today they don’t plow the roads, but then, there aren’t any bumpers either.!!
TidsPickin’ has not been easy. Ok, I was not bright pickin’ the Pats last week. But the Eagles and Cowboys also lost, and the Panthers won. Actually, I picked the Bills over Dallas but mentioning the Dallas loss made for a good excuse. In fact, I’m with Buffalo all the way now. So, we were 9-7 bringing us to a scary just above 60% 135/223. I’ll get to the rest of the sched tomorrow morning but tonight is Thursday and Prime is choking again with another so-so attraction – Rams-Saint. I'm not saying the game isn’t important because both need wins for sure. I believe the Rams are playing better but New Orleans has been tougher when necessary. But the Rams are coming together and Krupp is looking again like Krupp. I’ll go Rams in a close one.
It maybe a good time to become a hermit. It's not just the invasion of privacy from drones, smart phone apps, ordering online or even your China* manufactured Tesla sending ack data on driving and travel habits. No, now there is available online a board array of cameras for sale hidden in everyday items like alarm clocks, fire detectors, closet hooks and more. So there's another reason to go through your day with a smile on your face. You never know when you'll be in somebody else's living room.

I have an odd but very stable breakfast menu routine. And I am running out of key items. I 'm not in panicsville yet but I feel tension creeping in.

There's a theory out there that says if your children have fewer toys they will have more inventive playtimes, and in the long haul, just more plain ole’ fun. I can see that. Some of the best things I ever had cost a quarter.
There is pride of ownership and sense of accomplishment in a toy or game kids invent themselves. I've seen it in their faces.
Now that I look back on the reality of the past several years I see Kamala and Joe not as ideologues, but as just two people who knew how to write a good resume to get a decent job with a good pension.

I don’t know much about acting, but if Bradley Cooper doesn’t win one for Maestro, something is wrong somewhere. The other leaders right now are Paul Giamatti for Holdovers, Cillian Murphy fir Oppenheimer and Jeffery Wright for American Fiction.
I would love to see “24” come back to TV. But I'm afraid they would muck it up with social/cultural back stories. Instead of just entertaining our adventurous senses with gripping drama where often the hero loses.

Number one is Decorating the Tree. Next is baking cookies, followed by writing a letter to SC. The rest are: Going out for a drive to find sparkling lights, build a Ginger Bread house, Sing Christmas Carols, Exchange Gifts, wear an ugly sweater, Watch Christmas movies and Spend time with people you live. I would add hanging the stockings by the chimney with care; Telling your kids and grandkids tales of how Santa gets there.
