Averting disconcerting.

Today's Tids Issue 5,933

Phew:

So, it’s Friday. Is that why Fish n Chips have become a week ending staple in local restaurants?

So basically, the economic news sucks. And to a lot of people, it isnt a surprise.

Ok, Musk is assured One Trillion Dollars in ten years if all goes well with Tesla. What does one individual need a trillion dollars for ohanther than to get the number one spot on the wealth screcard. Lets say just he takes $200 million. He could buy 5 $20M house and two $100K cars everyother year for each home and had be out about $125 M. Throw in $10 M worth of yachts and toys and he’d still have around $65M. That should be plenty. If he took out 4% of that total each year that would give him $2.6M annually for groceries, restaurantsyard upkeep, streaming tv fees and new slipcovers . Of course that $65 M invested concervatively could grow by a modest 4-5% each jear, assurning retention of principle. So he is set. And that leaves him with $999,800,000,000 to good for the world. I guess Im too pedestrian to understand.

When you think about it, a grilled cheese sandwich is basically a pizza with butter instead of red sauce.

The Question:

There's a nice little Jesuit college nthe Cleveland area called John Carroll. Itis named after the first Catholic Archbishop in the USA who was a driving force behnd the formation of the American Catholic Church... and he founded a university. Whatwas it?

My mother was surprised when I told her I was born again. She said she didn’t feel a thing.

Being a driver is one of the great responsibilties of modern day life. Every other driver wants to feel confident that every other driver knows what they are doing,

The Saturday college football lineup is not very attractive this weekend. The only one that remotely stirs my imagination is Navy against Notre Dame. I'll be rooting for the Navy which has looked like a giant... so far.

In RI, three more cars plowed into houses and a businesse. It just continues to happen on a regular basis, And I am bewildered. I mean houses and businesses are hard to miss, and they certainly don’t leap into roads. I don't like being accusatory, but before the Smart phone a digital auto screens it was a rare oddity. I mean it certainly couldn't be alcohol or pot.

You know being a conservative doesn’t mean you have to be slightly crazy and irrational. For most conservatives it is just a matter of standards, values, responsibility and and common sense.

Trump just pardoned another fraudster, Glenn Casada, former Tennessee House Speaker. Fraud is an insidious disease that undermines the integrityy if a society. And fraudsters have ruined many an innocent, trusting person along the way.

I've in the past said that a kid who in panic commits murder during a robbery may be less of a menace to society than a person in power who belies trust.

I usually break around now and go see if I can guess prices of the jackpots on the Price is RIght, But, I just missed it.

My bathroom is painted white and sometimes when I look into the mirror to brush my hair, I can’t find the top of my head.

The Answer:

The great John Carroll founded Georgetown University in 1789.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
