Decompressing.

Today's Tids Issue 6,182

Noise is temporary:

Well, what t do you know. Blue wave? Red wave? What really counts is that because of fair and conclusive elections our great flag may always proudly wave, \\

Just in case you are interested, this year's record early voting appears to have changing demographic comprised of a younger, more diverse and politically independent group. So, ask your kids who will win.

I struggle with Roman numerals until I get to 159, then it just CLIX.

The Question:

There have been some iconic TV political analysts and commentators Who are considered the most popular.

The Headlines:

--Markets Mixed As Polls Open in Critical Mid Term Election; Apple Earnings Beat is Solid; WS Worried about China Phome Sales Miss.

--Michigan Still Key State Despite Dem'sSupport of GOP Rogers,

--US SC Rejects Trump Bid to Set Aside Cal Voters.

--US Strikes Iranian Island.

--Disney Planning Thousands of More layoffs.

--NY Has Forst Child Measles Death in 30 Years.

Netanyahu is playng the "Arabs Stole the Vote", the old deligitimize the election game. Israel authorities quickly rejected his ploy. Neither major candidate Netanyahu (53 votes) nor Eisenkot (48Votes) have enough to form a majority. Two Arab blocs have another 19 votes and would join Eisekot against Netanyahu for a total of 67 and majority. That could be messy and there is a good chance ruling authorities in Isreal would not let it happened. It is a puzzlement.

Reasonable c government structures could work ok if you just didn't have the people running them.

If McDonalds had called their McRibs, McScraps featuring pork they'd be ok. Micky's place is very good at molding meat from less succulent places in animals and apparently that's how they mad eth ribs with not a hint of rib meat in them.

I’m skeptical of anyone who tells me they do yoga every day. That’s a bit of a stretch.

Let hear it for the WNBA Champs, the Golden State Valkyrie's. While Gabby Williams scored 28 points in the second half, this was a true, gritty team effort. They played big time "D" and worked together on offense. They felt the pride of knowing they were a bunch of other team rejects, learning that as a cohesive unit playing together, they could beat a team of indvidual stars.

Suddenly, the USA feels like it is in a vacuum.

AI Tycoon Sam Altman begrudges regular people using RAM in their laptops, phone, Thermostats et al which could be used better by the AI industry. Maybe his thoughts about protecting humanity aren't so sincere after all. His quote: "Having the world's limited supply of RAM sitting in personal computers is terrible" So we are Chopped liver, after all.

Where did the IT guy go? He probably ransomeware.

Have you been reading about the a hack jobs in Europe where they go in and turn grocery store freezers to defrost ruining millions in food. That's a probelm with smart appliances, Hackers can get into your house and mess with you.

Caleb Williams and Josh Allen seem to throw similar style passes.

One person's bagel is not another person's begel.

Maybe Altman's AI agents have taken over his mind and sent him on a mission to commandeere more Ram. Me hungry.

My favorite part of a marathon is watching the reaction of runners who grab my plastic cup of vodka.

The Answer:

6 who standout are Chet Huntly, R David Brinkley, Peter Jennings, Tim Russert, and for satire, William F Buckley and, yes, Jon Stewart. There was the McLaughlin Group. Crossfire was big, first with with Pat Buchanon against Tom Braden replaced by Robert Novak vs Michael Kinsley.  Buckley also battled Gore Vidal on "Best of Enemies. How about Edward R, Murrow and Eric Severeird. There was "Point Counterpoint with Kirkpatrick and Alexander. The opinions of many of these older combatants were distinctly opposite, but there was a respect for each other.

I thought I'd end today with an old song called "When Day is Done" sung by Bing Crsoby because when at the end of today the nuttiness ends we realize life is still all about the important human things. "When day is done, I think of all the joys we knew."
