Yanquiz go Home.

Today's Tids Issue 2,216
Opening Stuff:

Yesterday, Times Square Bomber Faisal Shahzad did exactly what most intelligent observers said would happen if the misguided Obama/Halder plan to bring Gitmo prisoners to NYC for trial was to occur. He used the trial for a stage. He had absolutely no remorse and enjoyed the time in the spotlight. Among other things he said; “Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun, Consider me the first droplet of blood that will follow.”

Muslims? I didn’t think we were at war with Muslims. I must have misread the newspaper.

It is not news to learn that a new AP/GfK poll says “White Working Democrats” flock to Republican party. Hard working Dems have always migrated towards the Republicans when their own party rears its Liberal head. These people, in the main, believe strongly in a conservative work effort. In fact, the movement of working Democrats to the GOP side is one reason why Ronald Reagan did so well. They were the Reagan Republicans.

I know most of you don’t read the daily novel installments – Through the Same Eyes. But, if you do, you can tell by today that it is just about over, and I’ll be looking for a new topic. If you have any suggestions, I’m always all ears. The next couple of installments will be the wrapping up loose ends Epilogue. In case you are interested, the finished novel will contain about 82,000 words, 429,000 characters, 1,100 paragraphs and 5,700 lines! Talk about arthritic fingers!

The Question:
Today in 1927 marked the arrival of the first talking mmovie. What was it? Who was the well known singer star? Name five big hit songs of the star.

Back to More Stuff:
You probably have heard of the fiery Anne Hutchinson, one of the founders of Rhode Island and certainly one of the framers of beliefs that served as the basis for much of the 1st Amendment and separation of church and state. She was put on trial for...well…being too smart…for a woman! She had many supporters including the wealthiest man in the Colonies at the time, William Coddington. She could have gotten off with a warning or at least a quick dunking in the town square. But, her innate desire to speak the truth kept on getting in deeper with her accusers. So, in the end she was convicted and received the ultimate punishment of the times. They took away her guns! Think about that for a minute.

The only acknowledged Socialist Senator, Bernie Saunders of Vermont, used his time on CBS Sunday morning to rail against the rich with true Bolshevik revolution rhetoric. Forgetting that without the trust fund babies and the super rich NYC refugees, VT could easily be the poorest state in the union. It’s is just a fact.

So, did you hear about the blond who had the longest password in computer history –MickyMousePlutoHughyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento? Yup, she said it needed eight characters and one capital.

Unemployment in RI remains among the highest in the nation because the extended unemployment benefits are among the highest in the nation. And definitely higher than hourly wages for many jobs that are open and available. Good economies don’t have safety nets that turn into vocations.

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 96 Continues. –I continued to hold Kent tightly in my arms amidst a growing chaos around me. I heard people running, shouting for help. I heard them calling police and ambulances. I heard bells as elevators came and went. But I just leaned down to place my ear next to Kent’s heart. To hear the final beats of his life.
I felt his hand move up to my back. It reminded me of all of the caresses. “I’m still here, “I heard him whisper. And I smiled and raised my head to see that wonderful warm grin of his that I could always see while others didn’t.
“I’ll drink a diet coke to that,“ I smiled back. I felt him scrunch his had into my back. He made me feel safe as he lay dying.
I heard him cough a couple of times. Then his chest started heaving violently, as if he were trying to find enough air to spend a few more minutes with me. And then it ended. I could no longer feel the beat of his body. I heard nothing in the background. I was over taken with deathly stillness.
I held him tightly and rocked gently.
I heard foot steps come near me and my lover. I raised my head to see a concerned Henry standing just in front of a dazed appearing Paul.
“Kent died.”
I lowered my head and caressed my memories.

I think one of the signature issues on ballots November 2 will be an RI referendum that would ask voters to drop the word Plantation form the official state name. Of course some believe that this word which at the time simply meant “big chunk of land” has too many slavery connotations. I think it would be far worse to dismiss the history of the state just to appease the guilt complex of several misguided white people. Maybe we should also ad the word “Gay” to the referendum with the hopes that it might return to its old meaning of Happy!

A guy named Mujibar was trying to get a job in India. As part of his interview he was asked to use the words “Yellow, Pink and Green” in a sentence. No problem he answered: “The telephone goes green, green. And, I pink it up and say, “Yellow, this is Mujibar”. He was made supervisor at the call center. You probably have spoken to him.

I have to say, that once past language misunderstandings, I find the tech help from India enthusiastic and useful.

The Answer:
The movie was the Jazz Singer starring Al Jolson. His other famous songs were My Mammy, Swanee, California Here I Come, April Showers and Toot, Toot tootsie. He knew how to liven hearts, and stimulate tear ducts.

The End:
There is no truth to the rumor that activists are trying to add an amendment to the Providence Plantations name change vote that would ban Al Jolson for singing in Black face.

And…voters know what?

Today's Tids Issue 2,215)
Opening Stuff:

As the voting season heats up, I’m reminded of a John Wayne quote: “Life is tough. It is especially tough when you’re stupid.”

Let’s have a big hand for the valiant comeback try by the Americans in the Ryder Cup. And polite applause for the gutsy work of Graham McDowell who was admittedly nervous beyond comprehension.

While searching for the meaning of life, I came across an equally perplexing conundrum. What would happen if Pat Sajek’s final spin landed on “bankrupt”?

If you have been reading the Tids for a while you probably have noticed that litterers are among the lowest form of human being in my mind. Irresponsible, uncaring, uncivilized are adjectives that quickly come to mind. So, how surprised was I to learn that litterers held their own convention in Washington DC this past weekend. Now I don’t like to draw any conclusions, but the rally of unions and just about every liberal organization in Washington at the behest of the always angry and often illogical CNN commentator Ed Schultz left an awful lot of crap behind in the Nations mall! And this was a crowd that came to support the current travesty in Washington, appeared to be less than a quarter of the recent Tea Party “Restoring America” event – when a huge group came, listened, went home…and left no trash…at all. (See reports of amazed journalists who searched high and low for just one piece of paper.) Do we really want a country run by litterers?

The Question:
Q1; There was a lot of press yesterday and this morning about the new Supreme Court and it’s three women. But another milestone occurred with the opening of the session. What was it? Q2: Name the five most eligible females according to a CBS 60Mins/Vanity fair Poll.

Back to More Stuff:
Did you see where two of the top ten pop music songs are by the Cast of Glee?

Those who were patient were rewarded. Rubicon is coming together, and cool and lethargic appearing Will Travers is in deep, deep danger, and still doesn’t know who all of his enemies are. Only two more episodes left and I’m hooked.

And I have to say that “The Event” has a unique ability to suck you in too. Even when key pasts of the plot are way out there and apparently not part of our world.

How come at the end of commercials for medicines that treat all sorts of female annoyances, the woman in the message always winds up with a new hair-do? Powerful medicine indeed!

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 96 continues. –I pressed my body, my being, against his back. I felt his moistness, his warm seeping blood oozing through my blouse; on my chest. His life draining out upon me. I held him tightly as his weight started pulling me down. I strained to maintain comfort for him. I lowered my self to one knee still holding him hard and near.
“Call somebody…9111…I shouted!” but every body I now saw gaping were just too stunned. Paralyzed. “Wake up!” I shouted again. “This man needs help”. My lovely Kent is dying. Help me I said to myself.
He turned towards me. His eyes caressed my heart. My eyes started to drain. My chest heave. I lowered my mouth to his lips. And kissed him ever so tenderly, so gently. Drawing out all of the good I have known in him. Filling my body with a love I could never deny. That I know now will never leave.
He moved his head aside so his lips were at my ear.
“My beautiful Sarah/Maggie.” He whispered ardently, not as a man dying but as a man who has loved his love of me. “This is as it should be. I asked for more than you could give…”
“No, No Kent, you didn’t. I looked for every moment with you.” I whispered back. Almost violently. Don’t you understand? Don’t you understand? I thought. If he was to die, I wanted him have all of my love in his heart.
“I would never want to take you away from your family. That’s how much I loved you.” I could say nothing through the increasing beat of my sobs. “That I die, means you will always have my love as part of your life. You taught me how to have emotional meaning in my life that was always too pragmatic. Too logical. I have never had so much life in my being than I have had during these few months. And I am so content at this moment because you live. And, because all of my love that is in you will never falter after I’m gone. You will keep me alive as you love others.”
He started breathing rapidly.

Rahm Emanuel is behaving a lot like an Illegal Alien. He running for Mayor of Chicago Illegally, in that he has not satisfied residency requirement clearly defined in Chicago law. But like the border crossers, he is assuming the same “not for me” attitude as our southern border criminals. That legal exception that some say laws aren’t meant for the downtrodden. Wait a minute Emanuel isn’t downtrodden (He made $16.2 Million in his 2 year post Clinton banking stint.). I guess it’s the legal loophole that says, “not for the downtrodden and the privileged”.

I love the title of political satirist PJ O’Rourke’s new book: “Don’t Vote. It Just Encourages the Bastards.”

And whatever happened to PJ anyhow.

Let’s see…Paris Hilton (who should be sitting I jail like many would be without her financial resources) is about to start her new reality TV show. And this morning we hear that the lowly Eliot Spitzer is getting his own new TV show. This will certainly raise the intellectual standard for voters. Break the Law. Get famous. Make money. Nobody cares.

At the current rate, I expect that pretty soon there will be more physical therapists per person than Lawyers.

I see where bedbugs are starting to invade government offices in Washington. Maybe all of the workers there will quit.

How ironic is it that Public Employees Union superior health care packages will keep them living longer to collect superior pensions fund payments.

The Answer:
Q1: I thought it quite interesting that the supreme Court of a country founded by Protestants and ushered through its formative moments by Protestants was now comprised of 6 Catholics and 3 Jews. And no Protestants at all. And just think, as little as 50 years ago, many thought the JFK could never be elected. Do you think this is reflective of the decline of the famed “Protestant Work Ethic” in America? Q2: New SC Justice Elena Kagan (4%) is sixth on the most eligible women list. The list is topped by Jennifer Anniston (29%) and is followed by Haile Berry (21%), Elin Nordegrin (15%) Betty White (11%) and Lady Gaga (5%). Gentlemen…Start your engines.

The End:
How many times have I heard some one say that the future of American is dimmed because the majority of voters don’t know what they are voting for? That something that makes infinite sense doesn’t count because to many people won’t take the time or make the effort to understand what is really happening. “Just gimme what I want and leave me alone and I’ll be happily sitting around waiting for your next promise”.

The New England Patriots looked very exciting last n ight.

The Veggie Gravy Train.

Today's Tids Issue 2,214
Opening Stuff:

If the video hits YouTube, there’s a good chance I’ll be kicked off of the Michelle Obama Healthy Eating Lecture Circuit. Friday I was seen eating potato chips smothered in rich, creamy pork gravy!** O...M...G!

In case you missed it, the “Brainiest” cities (Those with the greatest % of college degrees) are DC, San Fran, San Jose, Tie Boston and Raleigh, Austin, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle and NYC. The city with the lowest percentage of degrees is Riverside Cal followed by Las Vegas, Memphis, Tampa, San Antonio, Louisville, New Orleans, Detroit, Orlando and Cleveland. Hmmm. Washington DC is the brainiest? I’ll take Cleveland any day.

I don’t think my mind is up to the daily task of managing a lot of “apps”.

Back t More Stuff:
I see where Bin Laden’s latest series of messages is a change from his usual rants against the US. Instead he is trying to broaden the appeal of al-Qaida by targeting groups he apparently thinks are likely to be moved by his message. One of the first groups in his list is Global Warmers. I wonder what Al Gore thinks about this.

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 96 continues. All I could see was the opening at the end of the gun barrel, and it kept looming larger…and blacker. And I could see clearly it was aimed directly between my two eyes. I now heard Symington’s rants only as noise in the background of scene that may be my last. Fear blocked out my ability to hear distinctive words. I didn’t think any part of my body was moving. My eyes were transfixed, yet I sensed a blur to my right.
If as under a magnifying glass, I could see almost too clearly his finger squeezing the trigger. Unemotionally, sentencing me to death. Taking the time to enjoy my last seconds. Then every thing speeded up. A black shadow emerged from my right just as I heard an explosion from the mouth of my executioner. I instinctively tried to move my body to my left, while awaiting the impact of the bullet into my skull, and then deeply into my brain as my world would fade to black.
But, it wasn’t pain I felt or black I saw. It was a scream, an awful scream that I heard. And then the noise of bodies crashing into the door. I saw Kent’s back as his body engulfed Symington’s. I rose slowly and started to run towards that back which I could now see was a mass of blood.
“Kent!”. I saw Symington’s eyes peering over Kent’s shoulder. Now, trying to kill me with hate. Kent’s arms were wrapped viselike around Symington’s, pinning his gun holding hand to his side. Symington was desperately trying to rid himself of Kent’s lifesaving grasp. He was trying to raise his hand with the gun. I had to get to Kent. Right now, I only wanted to get to Kent. I was moving forward quickly now. I lunged
Another shot rang out. I saw the head of Symington reel backwards. Looking down towards the sound of the gunshot I saw Dan lying on his side with a gun in his hand. His eyes wide, yet a small smile creeping across a pained face.
I heard Symington’s gun hit the floor just before I saw Symington’s body fall to the ground. Kent’s body was starting to fall, just as I reached his back. I wrapped my arms around him.

I think this whole obesity thing is a scam. Especially when you consider that the government probably wrote the definition of what’s obese.

I was reading yet another in a long line of tedious political cartoons depicting Sarah Palin as the dumbest single person on the planet. Which just proves once again that intelligencia are so wrapped up in their own smugness that they miss the world around them. Maybe Palin isn’t going to write a Pulitzer Prize play or discover a cure for cancer. But she responds to the needs of people. She gets it and explains it. Hey… all you have to do is look at which city is at the top of the Brainiest list, to know that degrees don’t translate into common sense…or good decision making. .

The only people with advanced degrees who, in my simple mind, count are doctors. The rest of them just avoided working a little longer. I never evaluate a anyone by the number of letters after their name or lack there of. But, simply by what they say, how they think and what they do.

I don’t work very hard. I don’t exercise in a programmed manner. Yet, I feel tired more than ever. But then I realize I spend much too much time these days being nice in groups of people a barely know. I think friendliness is wearing me out. I’m going to become a grouch.

I’m wondering if this current rash of Vampire movies and our increasingly bloodsucking Government is just a coincidence.

Speaking of rashes, so far George Bush has not been blamed for the FDR era syphilis testing on Guatemalan women.

If “permanent” means eternal or everlasting or forever…how do beauty parlors stay in business?

Obama continually tries to create hostility between the masses and the super rich, yet the masses continue to bow down at the altar of dimwitted super rich reality stars like Paris Hilton. Yes, she is back again for another reality show, this time about her life and the Hiltons.

Did you know that the word “Copper” comes from the Roman Cuprum which means…”Metal from Cyprus” – the place where it was first discovered. Kind of a let down, huh? Like learning the actual words beneath the magnificent music of operas.

Quiz Answer: 6 of the 12 are from Mighty University of Connecticut: Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Tina Charles, Asjha Jones, Maya Moore and the amazing Diana Taurasi. The others are Jayne Appel- Stanford, Tamika Catchings – Tenn, Candice Dupree – Temple, Sylvia Fowles – Lousianna State, Angel McCoughtry – Louisville and the marvelous guard…Lindsay Whalen form Minnesota.

**Here's an easy recipe for perfect pork gravy every time. In a bit of butter, sear boneless pork chops in a large skillet until noce and brown on both sides. Scrape up all of the brown stuff in the bottom, thrwo in a small handful of chopped sweet unions and a tinge of chopped garlic. And a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup. Simmer covered for a.bout 45 mins or unitl meat is nice and tender. You'll cry when the last drop of gravy is gone. Actually, broccoli goes very well with it. (I have written this recipe from a remote computer which is untraceable.)

October stands for great people.

Today's Tids Issue 2,213
Opening Stuff:

I‘m a Fall guy. Hey!...That doesn’t sound right. But even though I said it at the beginning of last month I’m saying it again today…October is the best month of the year. It’s a month where trees age beautifully and people age gracefully. It’s a month that begins with pigskins flying and pumpkins smiling. It’s a month when I can start unpacking my plaid flannel shirts and fleece. It is a perfect month.

Though not heavily publicized, my sources are telling me that Michelle’s vegetable garden is actually an out and out ruse. While she plants radishes and broccoli in the morning, her secret service detail enters at tonight to plant, yes you heard it hear first…Money Trees. It is a major component in 0-Man’s new debt reduction plan to be unveiled a week before election. Here is a secret recording of parts of his speech rehearsal: “If I promise a free TV for somebody, and a person comes up to me and says, ‘Mr. Obama I need a free TV’, I then I holler up to Michelle and say ‘Honey go out pick $2000 off the TV Tree’.” He goes on to say, “We have car trees, health care for relatives living in Mexico trees and raises for Public employee union member trees.” And he finishes, “Congress just keeps on giving us mounds of fertilizer. If you can smell my drift.”

The Question:

Credit where Credit is due Department.*
I have to say honestly that Obama has made a lasting contribution by teaching Americans that listening to campaign promises is a bad idea. *Or, is that debt where debt is due department?

The tragic suicide of the Rutgers student after having his private relationship exposed around the world on YouTube is just the latest example of the irresponsibility of people and the dangers of an unfettered Internet. And it won’t belong before the internet lovers will be crying about Government intervention. We have too many laws because too many people don’t understand the connection between freedom and responsibility. And it is very sad that a young, apparently talented man had to lose his life to dramatize human frailty.

One of the best phrases I have heard defining media’s contribution to a major divide in American culture is “Closed Loop Feedback media”. Media has become so divided that people only listen to or read media that supports their ideas and then writes to tell them how smart they are. And then the cycle continues.

Did you see where George Soros (In yesterday’s NYT’s) is withholding funding of Democrat candidates. Two years ago he contributed about $20,000,000. Instead, though, he will be feeding dedicated liberal organizations who will lash out against the American people with logic defying rhetoric.

There is no truth to the rumor that surfers are going to sue the national weather service for mental cruelty. But then, there is little that makes me happier than watching a surfer zoom almost out of control into a quiet shoreline neighborhood, hop out of his car with unbridled enthusiasm and then see his manic hopes fade as meekly as the calm seas before him or her.

Through the Same eyes: Chapter 96 continues. –A gun shot broke the tension. Kent dropped behind the partician and started looking around. Everybody else froze. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Dan the trooper rise from his seat near the elevator. His hand went to his holster. He was looking around, trying to determine the origin of the shot. He moved towards our offices. Then I saw Jack’s head flop to the side and then the other. His body started to crumple like a balloon slowly losing air. As he fell the deranged eyes of Symington emerged, scanning over the room. They were on fire. He shoved Jack Wiley who fell to the floor with a thud. He stepped across Jacks body now oozing blood across his $100,000 carpeting. Symington’s hand came out of his pocket, and I noticed a bullet hole in that Brooks Brothers suit that always seemed an appendage of his body. His hand now brought a gun into sight.
His eyes bored into mine. “Maggie the Magnificent”, he shouted sarcastically. And then laughed. A threatening humorless laugh. “You f---ing (Family column) Bitch.” He must have heard Dan running up behind him. He moved quickly to the side, firing another shot that hit Dan in the shoulder. Dan spun down violently to the side; dropping the gun..
He turned back to me. “Oh how I hated the way you belittled my and others in meetings. Who did you think you were?” He started breathing in and out heavily. His face reddened. I said nothing. I saw Kent inching up. Izzy had thrown herself back into her chair, and had a white knuckle grasp of the delicate Chippendale arms.
Symington took a step forward. “And then when I finally had something going, you had to start snooping around.
He raised the gun six more inches.

The price of lobster is becoming very affordable around here. Approaching junk food staus. ASnd I love junk food.

How come the peace loving liberal elite hate everybody who aren’t them. The Minute Men group is coming to RI to support the passage of an Arizona type illegal immigration law. One “Friends” something-or-other organization has already come out urging the denial of the MM’s right to free speech. And of course calling them – what else – racist!

Then there is the trumpeting of that word racist as the cause of the anger against the “Slave” LeBron James. Talk about losing credibility. Talk about a term loosing its meaning.

Reading between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--I’m giving The Social Network, the movie that forced the “unlikable” FaceBook Billionaire Mark Zuckerman to give Newark NJ schools $100 Mil, an A+. This thing moves along, from a dorm room at Harvard to the top of the Cyber System. It is full of conniving, back stabbing, double crosses and giant egos. It even has some sympathetic characters to balance the out the antics of the Billionaire you will love to hate.
--Let Me In is more than just another in a tedious list of Vampire movies. It is a well done recreation of a very good Swedish film. A 12 yo boy befriends a new neighborhood girl who is not exactly what she appears to be. The boy, tormented by school kids, spends most of his life planning revenge and spying on pope in his apartment house. His young eerie neighbor becomes his only friend. He opens up to her, and soon there after a series of grisly murders grips the town. The girls father mysteriously disappears and the boy tries to befriend her. She resists and the boy imagines the unthinkable about his strange friend.
--In case 39, social worker Emily Jenkins tries to rescue a 10 year old girl from abusive parents, but begins to think that maybe this little girl is so innocent. It is gripping.

The news about McDonalds considering dropping their Health Insurance for 30,000 employees sounds like the first salvo fired across the broad deck of USS Health Care. Let’s hope that the election makes HC a sinking ship.

The Answer:
The number one film to date is Iron Man. Then we have Toy Story 3, HP and the deathly Hallows, Twilight: Eclipse, Knight and day (Surprise to me), Little Fockers, Salt, Inception, Narnia and The “A” Team! The A team?

The End:
Monday is going to be a very exciting day for Through the Same Eyes! I can hardly wait to see what happens next.

Hope you all have a great weekend. It’s going to be beautifully cool around here. I’ll probably spend it worrying about how many times I will look up during a golf shot Monday morning. Anybody have a Tums? Golf is fun…golf is fun…golf is fun…

If, as it appears and as it has been discussed by cultural observers, we are producing future generations who don’t know how to use a can opener or a washing machine, rake a leaf or shovel a snowflake, press a button to start their day and download everything they need without moving…will they be eager to accept socialism because it appears easier? Be willing to forego personal freedom because it carries with it responsibility?

I never liked that layer of skin on pudding.

Of all the Government liars and cheats who were exposed as the country collapsed around us, I thought that deer in the headlights, sweat on the brow Henry Paulson was the sleaziest. He knew exactly what his pals were doing to us.

And, Bernanke was just inept, as was often reported often in pre-collapse Tids.

When the US auto companies were being eaten alive by the upstart Japanese car companies it was widely agreed in manufacturing circles that Detroit’s products were being designed by accountants. I think today all products are being designed by Lawyers.

One of my favorite times of the week is “Pick-um” morning. There are days when it appears I have my finger up nose, but last week at 11-5 wasn’t too bad bringing our Y-to-D to 33-15 (68.75%). The tougher match-ups tis week is led off by Pittsburgh/Baltimore with Miami/Pats and Chi/Giants close behind. Jax/ Indy and Philly/Wash could be tough too. Here goes nothing: Pitt, Pats, Chi, Indy and Philly for the feature games and for the rest – Tenn, GB, Jets, St. Louis, Atlanta, NO, Cinn, Houston and San Diego. Every expert’s pre-season darling, The Niners, could go to 0-4 along with disappointments Carolina and Buffalo. The Giants could be 1-3 as the sieve like Offensive Line is arrested for manslaughter for abetting relentless attacks on wide–eyed Eli.

You have to believe after watching 0-Man step up his recent church going effort that Bible waving Clinton is his new political advisor!

Have you heard of “Cash for Keys”? This is another government boondoggle that has our taxpayer funded government paying renters $3000 to get out within 30 days so a house can be foreclosed ($2000 for 60 days). By law, foreclosures can’t take place with renters living there and paying rent on time. Even though the home owner hasn’t paid in months. Think of the possibilities for fraud here. And you can be sure that many have already! What a country.

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 96 continues. –Kent stood up and came over to me. He placed his hands on my upper arms and urged me to stand. It was all so slow that in became an ethereal event. He kissed me ever so softly on the lips. And I felt that warmth I always felt when with Kent. No matter what else my mind was denying. I wanted to respond. Then He said, “I am so sorry about your awful experience. How are you?” Now I didn’t see anybody else in that room. But, a movement caught my eye. I woke from what felt like a dream. I looked at Jack and then Izzy.
I followed their eyes now focused down the hallway where a determined appearing Jeff Symington was walking quickly this way. I looked back at the twosome. They appeared panicked. Of Jeff? I thought. Kent moved away from my vision and towards the door. Jack was quick to rise and join him.
I wanted to retake charge of this group, but something I knew nothing of had taken control. Something they couldn’t control. Controllers don’t like loose ends.
“Jack, get out there and talk to him”. Jack now appearing more and more under the influence of a woman who looked more and more his master lurched forward elbowing Kent aside to one knee.
Izzy looked up at me. “All you had to do was continue advising us financially. Everybody would have been just fine with your cloying presence. Except maybe Symington who had always despised working under your enthusiastic smiling face.
Symington had stopped ten feet from the door where Jack had met him. Jack was yelling at him in whispers. I could see Symington’s chest heaving. He wasn’t listening. Jack brought his hand up to Jeff’s lapel.
Kent had raised him self up again and was moving towards the door.

Still living in caves Department:
You begin to worry about how far we’ve come from those club and animal skin days when you read about bullying kids throwing peanuts at children, fellow students, with peanut allergies.

And then there is the annual trash cleanup day made necessary by littering Cretans who think it is a good idea to deposit their used wrappers, bottles, cups and food remains on streets, lawns and parking lots. I would prefer meeting a liberal before a litterer.

Today’s stock market looks like it’s all about grasping straws.

That Boston tragedy where five people including an infant were dragged form their Mattapan house and executed is being characterized as possibly having something to do with drugs. You think? Hey, I thought the Mexican border was further away.

Note to Linsey Lohan: A wobbly drug and alcohol addicted Judy Garland was elevated to “Icon”status in her last days on stage.

The Answer:
1. I first remember Tony Curtis in The Prince who was a Thief co-starring the ultra cute (to 14 year old me) Piper Laurie. His most memorable role was in Some Like it Hot with Marilyn Monroe and jack Lemon. He also was in 115 other movies including Sweet Smell of Success, Trapeze, Six Bridges to cross, So This is Paris, The Defiant Ones, The Great Imposter, Spartacus and Operation petticoat 2. You may know Arthur Penn for his enormously successful film “Bonnie and Clyde. But he was even better know in theatrical circles for “Miracle Worker” and “Two for the Seesaw”. Other films were The Wild Bunch, Night Moves, Target, Dead of Winter, Four Friends and Little Big man. Ironically Penn’s first film The Left Handed Gun starring Paul Newman was originally intended for James Dean – an actor whose early death we are also remembering today.

The End?
Women are once again in the news as new data showing discrepancies in salaries and executive positions are on the front page. This is a war that will certainly continue. But, I think women are working at more subtle means to usurp the role of men. For instance Kenmore has a new washing machine that can talk to technicians without first calling for a husband and a screwdriver. At the first sign of trouble, the wife calls a service number and enters a code. She then places the phone on the Machine’s “Ear” and machine’s do the talking! On another front, many towns are authoring the raising of chickens in small farms on homeowner’s land…without the use of Roosters! Are men destined to become a museum curiosity?

It's a Public Relations World.

Today's Tids Issue 2,210
Opening Stuff:

You can tell the network “news” is fighting for its existence when the news has become an afterthought and book promotions, saccharine tales and slanted opinion pieces the norm.

The US is in danger of having an economy based on industries full workers doing jobs for people who could easily do the jobs themselves.

It appears to me that the TV show Glee is in danger of succumbing to it’s success by overplaying the visiting celebrities, the antics of the gym teacher, the emotional problems of the cast -- overshadowing the one thing that made it unique and actually very entertaining – the wonderful talents of the kids singing and entertaining. But then Chorus Line didn’t make it big because of the music.

Now…if 0-Man is imploring the Left Wing to wake up and get interested in the elections, it can only be because he wants to keep socialism alive.

The Question:

Name five books written about President Obama.

Back to More Stuff:

If, (As Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker proposes) the Bay State changes its tax laws to compete with its northern neighbor New Hampshire, the largest city in its southern neighbor Rhode Island will be Seekonk!!

Nearly nine months ago, the U.S. through Hillary Clinton pledged $1.15 Billion for the rebuilding of Haiti. According to officials at the State Department, UN and US Senate the reason why not a penny has been spent one week before the end of the US fiscal is because of the c omplex bureaucracy, disorganization and a general lack of urgency. These are the same people who will be running your Health care.

Tampa is not a Major League city.

The Food Nazis will send me directly to hell without passing “Go” for printing this bread pudding recipe made with “Donuts”. We could call it our “Blue” Plate special in honor of US Police departments. –Brush 9” pan with butter and cut 8 cake donuts into 1 ½-2” chucks and put in pan. In bowl mix 4 tbs butter, ½ cp brown sug, ¼ tsp cinnamon and 1/8 tsp nutmeg. Add 4 eggs and whisk to blend. Whisk in 2 ½ cps heavy cream, ¼ cp Jack Daniels and 1 tsp vanilla. Pour over donuts soaking all. Let stand 1 hour (Or cover and fridge over night). Bake at 350 covered (w/alum foil) for 30 mins; 15 mins uncovered. Now for the bad part – The sauce. Combine 1 ½ tbs cornstarch a 2 tbs JD whiskey. In small pan combine ¼ cp heav cream and 2 tbs gran sug. Over high heat whisk 2/3 mins til bubbles form. While whisking ad whiskey mixture and whisk til sauce is blended and thick. Pour sauce over portions and top with whipped cream or caramel sauce or van IC; or all of the above. The devil made me do it.

Anybody who tunes into the new Hawaii 5-0 for a pleasant touch of nostalgia is in for a huge disappointment. It is just another weak police drama with plastic characters. The only difference being that it takes place in the sun instead of bleak alleys near housing projects.

Why do voters disgusted with their government vote for the same old people expecting that they have the capability to change. They'd still be paid by the same special interest groups.

A writer Susan Maushart has an interesting new book that warns of a succeeding generation that literally doesn’t know how to do anything -- kids with no house hold chores, drive-through meals and outsourced basic chores like house-cleaning an lawn care. She says we have college kids who’ve never done laundry, put a stamp on an envelope or taken a bus ride alone. Kids stay in strollers til they’re five and never learn out to open a can with a can opener. And the real tragedy is a future generations of button pushers with a loss of independence and initiative.

Actually, I have to be honest. I don’t think I ever learned the correct way to tie my shoelaces.

Mastering the relatively simple art of making things out of eggs like omelets and frittatas can make you look like a pretty savvy chef.

The intelligence communities around the world are doing a helluva job.

I’m one of those people who wants Kim’s son to keep on doing the same thing because it makes the news more interesting. That is, if the news media still knows how to report it.

The Answer:

The one with all of the hype to, day is of course Obama’s Wars. But we also have the “The Manchurian President”, “The Case against Barack Obama”, “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality”, and the longest title ever written -- “Fleeced: How Barack Obama, Media Mockery of Terrorists Threats, Liberals who want to Kill Talk radio, The Do-Noting Congress, Companies that Help Iran, and Washington Lobbyists for Foreign Interests are Scamming Us.” (Short and Pithy – I fell asleep reading the title). And this doesn’t include all of the books written about himself by himself.

The End:

Now that all of a sudden, almost out of nowhere the Prez is emphasizing his love for Christianity, it is a sure sign that he doesn’t think things are going well in the elections.

When the Prez says as he did yesterday to his liberal base, “Change is hard, ‘real’ change takes time”, he is saying that just because most Americans think socialism is dumb idea, and I need you more than ever.

Through the Same Eyes will return tomorrow.

BudaBudaBudaBudaBuda…

Today's Tids Issue 2,209
Opening Stuff:

I believe the key in evaluating the next round of corporate reporting is revenue performance. Profits looked pretty hale so far this year. A rather fast return to profits is generally the first thing you see at the beginning of a recovery. Corporations can easily (Well maybe not easily) accomplish rosy profit pictures through general tightening, reduction in employment, heavy discounting or cost cutting. It’s an old story. But now the test. Are people buying again? Are companies getting good prices? Or, are sales continuing to be sustained through heavy discounting? Let’s check out some top lines on the third quarter reports. This is the test.

Pleasant moments with the second movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto Number 2 is like looking deeply into a lover’s eyes.

Countries around the world are starting to wake up to the fact that they are still giving China $2.5 Billion in foreign aid. And wondering why the 2nd largest economy in the world needs it. But, that’s like any other government program. Once instituted, it is almost impossible to get rid of it even in the face of overwhelming conclusive evidence against it.

Doncha kinda get the feeling that the NEA is sponsoring NBC’s week long focus on education?

The Question:
Yesterday we did Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice. So today, let’s try Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Learner (In honor of NBC’s Ed Week!). What was this song writing duo’s first hit and biggest hit. Name five shows.

Back to More Stuff:
While strictly against any leniency or compassion for illegal aliens, I have always felt that a work visa plan could work. There is an apparent need for lower cost labor in many industries. And I guess, it is work that is beneath many who are doing just fine on welfare or unemployment checks. Of course there would have to be a lot of restrictions governing such a plan. For example, there would be no government support beyond issuance of the Visa…or the deportation of criminals. The employer would pay for all basic benefits. If the worker was hospitalized and the employer had failed to provide HC, the employer would be billed for all medical services. Unions would not be allowed to organize of the legal temp workers. There would be no Gov benefits for family members. And any worker caught doing anything illegal would be immediately deported.

I don’t look good in form fitting clothing.

I think we are into a long period of a “Hand-to-Mouth” economy. Like now, when summer bursts of employment are winding down and we enter a lull before Christmas/Halloween rehiring. Loyalty on both sides of the employment spectrum has been waning for a couple of decades now. Many of the new middle class jobs require less critical skills, so that the layoff/rehire seesaw has less effect on operations.

The wealthy will slow down domestic investment because over time they can’t see the middleclass as sustaining as high a level of purchases as they have in the past. While the statistics show that the wealthy pay an overabundance of the total tax bill, they also show that the economy we have enjoyed for so many years is because of the unrelenting purchasing power of a consistently strong middle class. A middle class where the future for consistently high earning power is cloudy at best.

Frankly, doncha kinda get the feeling that the current Admin is being run by the NEA?

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 96 continues. –I quickly averted Kent’s piercing eyes. I needed to control my soul myself now. The fear of an hour ago had strangely morphed into resolve. I waved away Dan, and walked into the den. I heard no growls, but I felt aggression.
“Sorry I’m late,” I looked at them with the confidence of someone totally in charge, “But, thanks for waiting for me.” I saw Jack’s face relax ever so slightly. I was assuming that my favorite lackey Jeff was in charge of hiding the greasy one. I walked to the wall and pulled a chair to the center of the room. “I’m glad you thought of an extra chair or two Jack.” He rose, and started towards me, hand out. Ready to shake my hand and pull me in for a fatherly hug. Which he did. Izzy alone, sat like on an island, trying to plot out her next series of moves. Kent sat calmly unaffected by my little drama. But I felt his soft glance. I can feel the presence of this man who knows me so intimately.
“A funny thing happened on the way to this forum.” I said it matter of factly, informatively, but I knew they knew. “Yeah, I was chased by a couple of goons. And when they couldn’t find me, they beat the crap out of my friend Billy.” I stared at the blank expressions of the Izzy/Jack duo. God what psychopaths. I thought Jack felt for me. Like a daughter he never had. “What do you all think happened?”
Nobody spoke, which is not surprising. Finallly, I heard Kent.
“I am happy you weren’t hurt. His voice was soft, almost like he was contradicting some inner emotion.

Something strange happened Saturday night on the East Side of Providence RI. The stadium for the Brown/Harvard night game was packed to the rafters! With frenetically cheering people and…students. The last time Brown U probably saw a full house with enthusiastic students was in the sixties before campus radicalization., When the big game became mass protesting as opposed to “Root, root, root for the home team”. When a foot ball game became too clichéd, too establishment for the anointed elite. Before the late sixties, Ivy League powers like Yale and Princeton had SRO 70-80,000 packed houses…almost every Saturday afternoon. These were events! Could it be that good old fashioned, heart on the sleeve enthusiasm has a chance to be once again in vogue?

There’s a couple of good neighboring states races that I believe are terrific indicators for the depth of the mood of cirizens everywhere.. Charlie Baker, a Republican in Massachusetts, is running against a well known Obama pal, Deval Patrick. Baker is a business man in the mold of Scott Brown. He seems to know how to make things work. And why businesses are finding it harder to stay in Mass. On the other side of the “Hinge” state is Connecticut where the states AG Blumenthal is running against wrestling biz owner McMahon’s wife. She is for real. Knows the issues and has the money to get out the message. Blumenthal is exactly the kind of person we are trying to rid ourselves of; Big government give-away artist. If Blumenthal, and others like him get in, then you will know that all of the anger has accomplished nothing.

Our first lady has been extolling the virtues of the way early Native Americans (Indians) planted corn. Excuse me, but I think we have come a long way in 390 years.

The Answer:
I don’t think many would argue about picking “My Fair Lady” as the duo’s biggest hit. Since it is also perhaps one of the all time Broadway favorites. Brigadoon was their first substantial hit. Camelot soared off of the success of “Lady”. Other big hits for the duo were Paint Your Wagon and the wonderful Gigi (Movie only.)

The End is Near:
So what’s this BudaBudaBudaBuda…thing all about? It’s about me turning into a mindless blatherer. And it’s the fault of all politicians good and bad. The airwaves are fraught with conflict. Overpromises. It is becoming as hard to watch programming featuring people I support as it is watching those I think are complete fools. I think it is an incumbent conspiracy. Throw as many issues at the people as you can and confuse them to the point where there only means to continuing sanity is to vote for the person they know…the dreaded incumbent. My mind is exploding. I’m turning off the TV. Changing the radio’s dial. BudaBudaBudaBudaBuda.
