Today's Tids Issue 3,045
Opening Stuff:
One thing uniquely
pleasant about life, / You can find ways to overcome strife. / Like when days
get dull, a grinding chore, / A sliver of sunshine beams through the door. / Skies
are never as gray as they appear / If you hold all the sun you’ve seen, near
and dear.
How can they miss a
jet liner, when they can follow me going into a store to buy a package of
Cheetos.
A lot of people for
Lent are giving up FaceBook and other Internet addictions. So the Question

The Question:

NBC’s new TV show “Believe”
could make it. Frankly I liked it. It had a little tension, realism when needed
and a totally pleasant little girl played wonderfully by Johnny Sequoia as the
star. It subtly moved you, even amidst constant secret Government threats.
Actually, I‘ve read it and seen it all before in Stephen King’s “Firestarter”. I
don’t normally like cute little tykes in shows, but this little girl makes it
work beautifully.
One of three funniest
lines to come out during this Ukraine crisis is from a young Kiev activist
who in response to a reporters question about Yanukovich’s lavish spending on a
house: “Yes, and bad taste too”. Well, maybe it was funnier if you saw it live.
All Ukrainians
seem to want is a peaceful, thriving nation that looks like USA 1950.
Something must be happening
around the world, but when events like the missing plane or Ukraine hits, reports
on all other significant events are undernourished. And when the Prez and Veep
take a vacation, news pretty much stops flowing. Which might just prove how
much of what we read as news is in reality planned distribution, created news
by publicists.
Sbarro is going out
of buiusness. I always toght they made better than average Pizza. Actually
a couple of the chain pizza places were pretty good, until they started over
competing with gimmicks. Little Caesars pizza was always bad. And, on trip
recently I was forced to order a Papa John’s Pizza and it was dreadful.
Ironically, one the first pizza places I ever went to was named Papa Johns, but
that’s when the idea of pizza was uniquely new to America, and the pizza really
was made by “Papa”.
Here’s a couple of
small local stories that have me scratching my head: --A body of man found
on Scarborough Beach yesterday has been identified. The cause of death was
determined to be from a gunshot wound to the head. It went on to say, “There
were no indications of foul play.” –A 63
year old man was killed while riding a
bike on the busy Greenwich avenue at 10:28 at night. Bike riders seem to think that
drivers have nothing better to do than look out for them.
I wonder what it
has to be in Rhode Island to be considered foul play?
The Answer:
Number One is not “Uno”, but Pizza Hut. Domino’s is number 2
with Papa John’s and Little Caesers following at 3 and 4. 5 is California Pizza
Kitchen followed by Papa Murphy’s, CiCi’s, Chuck E; Cheese, Round Table and at
number 10, but not for long, Sbarro. The next six are Godfathers, Hungry
Howies, Peter Piper, Jets, Uno Chicago Grill and Bertucci (One of my favorites).

Gotta run. I don’t
see any sun, so I’ll just press the on switch in my heart.
