Contrarianism is good for the soul.

Today's Tids Issue 3,132
Opening Stuff:

Excuse me for not going along with the crowds. They’re just getting way too big.

It seems like a quiet do-nothing day unless you are in Iraq, or Israel or Syria or the trenches in Wall Street and global stock markets. Or fighting for strength in a hospital or helping a needy person in the inescapable prison of life. Or dodging bullets on a city street. Remember the years gone by when the entire world was in your own back yard.

Doncha just love seeing the IRS squirm?

Hey! -- It's seven come eleven day. Visit your local betting parlor.

The Question:
Ok, it’s time to predict: What well known brands might disappear by the end of 2015?

I think the oceans are rising because all of the cars at the shore are pushing down the continent.
Ah, give me a Winter’s beach,
Where peace and serenity are within reach,
It’s only me and Icy seas
Upon vacant sands, with a cooling breeze.

I read where millions of veterans want to know why the President has been so mum on a situation where in Afghanistan during the past 27 months 1,000 service men have been killed (More than the combined totals of the previous five years), many of them murdered, “Inside jobs by those who are hired to be a ‘force for good’ in Afghanistan”. But, that’s the way of this man in the White House, isn’t it – When the going gets tough he goes to a fundraiser.

Do you get the sense that the furor to increase the minimum wage is essentially to make illegal immigrants happy when they break laws to sneak in and take jobs. Maybe they’ll all move to Washington state. This entire illegal immigrant thing perplexes my understanding of right and wrong.

I just looked out my window and saw two guys with beards praying and bowing to the east. Should I be worried?

If you like Classical music, Newport RI is the place to be for the next 2 1/2 weeks as the greatest musicians from around the world will be roving through gilded mansions playing and singing. The featured composer of  this year’s 46th Newport Music Festival is Richard Strauss, who in my mind is one of the most creative, refreshing of them all. And the good news is that these tourists who come to be mesmerized don’t roam the streets showing their tattoos.

The Ukraine separatists are learning real fast that with a friend like Putin, who needs enemies. Has the Tzar left these guys to hang out to dry, dangling in the wind, or what!

Personally, I believe Political Correctness has done more to hurt the heart of our free society than the drug culture.

Kids and toddlers in Guatemala, Costa Rico, and Nicaragua didn’t just wake up one morning and say, “Hey lets walk 500 miles to the US border.”

Reading Between the Lines Movie reviews:
--I saw the previous “Apes” movie and liked it a lot. So I’m pre-disposed to go down and see this next seguel of the last prequel. The plot of Dawn of the Apes is pretty simple and predictable, but the movie will hold your interest and is pretty exciting as humans awaken to the threat of the Apes and begin to understand their dominating characteristics, intelligence…and resolve.
--I believe that Begin Again is one of those nice little movies that will have you smiling as you walk out of the theater. Starring Kira Knightly Adam Lavine, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld and James Corden, it is a look into the world of music entertainment and musicians trying find the magic. It’s about loves and losses and the glories and dangers of success. It’s about losing love and finding love, and being discovered. With probably a tear or two along the way.

The Answer:
Two retailers Lululemon (Gap is assaulting their markets) and Aeropostale (Lower cost competition for teens from H&M). In the broadband Biz Time-Warner will be sold to Comcast and Direct TV to AT&T. In the ever tender Internet market the bigs are getting bigger and more diverse and once hot companies like Zynga (No new products since Farmville) Shutterfly are near death. The venerable Russell Stover is dropping fast and will sell out to one of the giants. Hillshire Foods will be folded into probably Tyson after an expensive battle with Pilgrim Foods. Also on the list for a second year is research in Motion, though now under the name of Blackberry Ltd. Last Year Prediction Review: Nook and Leap from Last year’s “24/7 Wall Street” ten-to-go list are gone and it still has til December 31 to see the fate of Martha Stewart Living, Road & Track Magazine, Mitsubishi and Volvo cars, Living Social, WNBA and Olympus cameras.

It appears that the Mexican Drug Cartels are behind the overwhelming depositing of children on our borders. It appears the drug business Human Trafficking Divisions getting from $3-6 Thousand per child. If you use an average of $4500, the total is $234 million! Nice sideline business. I wonder if the DNC gets a cut for helping to squash US troop presence at the border.

It looks like another beautiful summer weekend for you all. It seems like more and more communities are plannning all kinds of events for weekend diversions. So look around.

Have a great two days – E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!
