Today's Tids Issue 3,131
Opening Stuff:
This is one of those Tids
that has no apparent beginning, no reason for consuming digital space, but eventually
will gather some form of acceptability as the brain begins to ignite and
information pours in. In other word don’t expect to be grabbed with a controversial
or lyrical opener. Just put yourself
into patience mode. It will come.
The failure of stocks
to hold at 17K is one of those perceived psychological weaknesses, which
can often be highly significant in a market that’s becoming skitterish.
My dentist would
simply not stop working on my teeth. He was abscessive compulsive.
The Question:
How many cups of Nescafe do people drink every second? How
many times a day are coke products consumed?

The Ocean House, a
pure unadulterated exact replica of a late 1800’s shoreside hotel was named by Travel
and Leisure as the #1 Resort in the USA. The Watch Hill RI Hotel et.al., a few
hundred feet from Taylor Swift’s mansion, was also named #5 in the world! With
all of the glitz on this planet, it’s nice to know that sometimes beautiful
simplicity works pretty damn well.
I thought bicyclists
had to obey the same rules of the road as cars…like stop signs, red lights and
one-way streets.
A local talk show
host who was just named “Best Talk Show” by RI’ers was the subject of a
mass local boycott by a small but cherished group after he a had made some
so-called derogatory remarks about female union protestors. The point here is
that the outrage of a few reported endlessly in the media is more often than
not completely opposite to the opinions
of the majority.

It's good to teach kids basic first aid to help treat Dads who fall off ladders when Mom's away.
So a new study grasped
immediately by the NRA adherents says that there is a direct correlation
between the increase in gun carrying permits and the decline of criminal acts.
Personally it sounds like one of those nice little coincidences that happens to
coincide with increased focus on, and capability in, crime detection and prevention.
I suspect having gun on person will intimidate a would-be thief, rapist or
killer, but it is only part of the story. Maybe The “O” WH house should issue
an exec order subsidizing guns for carrying in the poorer neighborhoods of
Chicago. That would work. A nice follow-up to ObamaCare.
A watched tomato
doesn’t turn red.
I had to laugh at the
story from The Container Store company that said the company told Wall
Street that it wasn’t their fault for fading sales and profits, but that of the
consumers who weren’t buying (At their inflated prices). Say what…it isn’t their
fault that the consumers aren’t buying! I’ve been in the store – once – and I
would never have any need ot go back as the prices were way over any that I
would consider reasonable for boxes and stuff to put stuff into. But, guess
what? – Wall Street bought it. And that is one good reason why you shouldn’t take
all stock analyst reports at face value. If analysts were that smart we’d never
be surprised by massive down turns in the markets, or miss the upturns. They
are just people like you and me. They just happen to have the imprimatur of
being in the business.
Trust your
instincts.
In case you are
interested about theanalysts of the future, the kids with greatest financial
acumen come from Shanghai. A new study that would compare financial awareness
among the next generation in the global economy showed that only 9.4 b% of US
teens could n=answer the toughest questions. After shanghai we have Flemmish
community of Blegium, Estonia, Austrai=lia, New Zealand, Czecj=k republic,
Poland, Latvia, The USA, Russai and France. But, Us kids no how to get good
stuff form thehir parents.
Affordable housing
laws that mandate lower cost homes generally only benefit the contractors and
flippers.
Speaking of laws that
try to mandate behavior or safety, how about the one just signed here that
sets up Child Free Zones. Again the legislatures miss the target when the zone
they have to regulate is in the brains of the predators. “Hey mister man with the lollypop, you can’t
touch me – I’m in a Child Free Zone.” God help us.
The Answer:
Believe it or not,
4,000 cups of Nescafe are consumed every second. Think about that for a second
as you look at the plethora of precocious paper packaged brands on grocery store
shelves and in the little specialty
shops. Nescafe is just your basic, bare minimum coffee. Yikes. Coca Cola
products are consumed 1.7 million times a day! The point of this “Q” is
demographics. We sit in our own little world in our own little town, often
forgetting what is going on in the vast world around us. It indicates how, if
you create the right product, you can leverage it quickly into extraordinary mass
markets and quickly enjoy life as a billionaire. How simple is that?
Now that my golf game
is going south, I’ll have more time to conjure up a new novel concept.
Maybe that’s why my golf is beginning to suck – I’m conjuring while swinging!
For every action there’s an equal and opposite reaction.
Don’t get caught up
in complexities, often contrived or conjured, and enjoy a relaxing day.
The wise old man
was long in the truth!
