For Minimizing:
A
barber who is aware of every hair on your head and treats
each one with respect, will probably never make as much money as the barber
with the electric shears who races around your head robotically. The first is
an eloquent sculptor, and thoroughly enjoys their job. The other is wondering when
the day will end.
A
guy asked me the other day how I come up with all of this
stuff every day for the Tids. It’s actually therapy. If I kept all this minutia in my head, they’d be putting me on a strait jacket.
Secretary
of State Tillerson certainly looks and sounds like a President.
I
have always thought that it is pretty reasonable
to believe that there are planets in this gigantic never ending universe that
are good for life, just like our Earth. What would be really thought provoking
is if we found that both populations all had the same basic DNA pattern.
The
Question:
Who do you think are the Ten Companies with the best
401K plans?

If
you can’t find a protest, we’ll find one for you. And there
is definitely something for everybody. Among the latest are people protesting
Peter Pan costumes; protesting forced marriages by sending pink frilly underwear
to religious moralists; protesting US Weather balloon above Canadian Bordet by
hundreds of Canadians simultaneously mooning the USA; protesting Potholes by posing
old not so attractive men in the nude. Of course, there is Peta with all of
their anything goes protesting like when they took on Obama for swatting fly on
TV. Want something to do this weekend? Make a sign and walk down the street, Somebody
will surely join you and before you know it, you’ll have a crowd.
One
of the big news stories around here of exactly zero interest
to me is the missing Tom Brady Super Bowl Jersey.
Yields
on bonds are dropping indicting that growth may be slower
than Stock markets believe. Factor in Yellen’s inevitable eagle eye upon exploding
inflation and we could be entering a market environment as unpredictable as the
new admin.
My
hunch is that Trump economic policies will be designed to produce
inflation which is one way of achieving an appearance of increased growth
rates.
If
you want to see apples and oranges at work, check out the
discussions about refugees and illegal immigrants. Refugees are people in deep need
while illegal aliens are basically law breakers. There is no this or that.
Refugees are allowed in freely to the limits established by federal immigration
guidelines. Illegals sneak in and disappear until they learn how to apply for
benefits. We might get somewhere on this emotional issue if the two sides would
sit down and listen.
How
come most of the protestors at Town Hall meetings denouncing
their congress people over the contrived potential loss ACA, look like they are
all eligible for Medicare, which has nothing to do with Obamacare.
From
what I see so far. The Cabinet Secretaries look pretty
good overall. It’s now matter of who listens to whom.
The
Answer:
This is kind of interesting: #1 is Delta Airlines
followed by The NFL, Saudi Aramco, Southwest Airlines, Conoco Phillips. Amgen,
Bayer, Chevron, Takeda Pharm and UPS. Now this may be indicative of well
managed companies with great stocks or companies with too much money tied up in
pension promises.
Full
bodied Tids tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. The
Management.
