Today's Tids Issue 5,326
And, a good weekend to all:
Well... they’ve done it to us again! Flavored Candy Canes. I mean flavors that could cause gag reflexes for the unexpecting. Shitake Mushroom, Bacon, Pickle, G Ketchup and Clam.
But Christmas has always been minty and that was always fine, a special December treat. And really most important, based on a wonderful tradition of love and unselfish giving. And a singular birth of millenniums ago. Do we have to improve on that too?
So, I'm not adding flavors, or updated music or flashing stage lights and flares and smoke to my Christmas message of each year. The one I just think tells it all. You know, when Linus speaks:
"Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about,"
said Linus. [Linus walks to center stage.]
"Lights, please."
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding
in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
good will toward men.
[Linus picks up his blanket and shuffles off-stage.]
There is no Tids question today, because Linus gave us the answer.
Have a wonderful Christmas, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
