Eyes sparkling by a glowing fire:
God wrote a special book
All about the special look
We see in loving eyes.
When warm feelings thrive
When Christmas bells ring
And grand choruses sing
And most all people living
Think more about giving
As they say at the North Pole, I only have ice for you!
How much stuff are we paying for now that we really don’t need. Engineers come up with all these amazing things for cars and homes and all things about living. And we call it all smart. Yet smart is not often as useful as simple and practical. It’s like the person who goes to college and gets multiple degrees and is really smart versus the person who is street smart and gets things done. They’ve loaded my computer and auto dashboard with more stuff that I would never need... just because it exists. I don’t need smart electric razors or fingernail clippers or tracking devices, so I know where I’ve been. I'll just take simple over smart any old day.
A couple of political headlines deserve mention today. And they are somewhat related. An analysis of the 2022 vote shows that Repubs really flocked to the polls. But they didn’t always vote for Repubs. And yesterday Kyrstin Sinema changed her affiliation from Dem to Independent. I think people are tired of being identified by political manipulators who want everybody crammed into little boxes. But most human beings are just becoming tired of others telling them who they are
The Question:
What great event occurred today in 1965?

When it comes time to die, don’t cry for a little more time to relive your life. Live it now.
What! Did Baker Mayfield just pull off a Tom Brady last night? Like the Bucs on Monday, the Rams Looked hapless and were down the by the exact same 16-3 score with less than five minutes left when Mayfield like Brady engineered a two-touchdown comeback with the final score coming with just seconds left... like the Bucs before. Eerie. Mayfield had only joined the Rams the day before!! Carolina and Cleveland fans are probably wondering where this iteration of a Mayfield came from. It was outer worldly to watch.
Around now, everything looks in peppermint condition.
If America gets a chance to know John Sununu of New Hampshire, he could rise to the top of their favored for President 1024. I’d vote for him. He has a great sense of humor and strong, thoughtful opinions. Each year after he balances his state budget, he sends it to congressional leadership with a note, “You can do it too”.
If Manchin goes Indy, it would be 49-49 and two indies against Kamala.
If people didn’t build houses on coasts, there would be no pics for the media during storms.
Entertainment people seem to think that starting off a TV Program, Movie or Play promotion with the words, “Critics agree.’’ somehow fetches droves of eager fans. From experience, when critics agree, it is usually unwatchable. Now when “People agree' there is hope.
This is that time of year, this magical season of happiness, when it's always good to use the elf-checkout lane.
The Answer:
December 9, 1965 was the day that “A Charie Brown Christmas” first appeared on TV. Is there anything better than that!!
Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
