Daydream Friday

Today's Tids Issue  5,877

Just down the street:

I will always hear the music; dance to the sound of optimism; feel the touch of pleasant memories past. The beautiful things deep within life.

I see where skinny ties are in. I guess w I won't be wearing suits until fat ties are trendy again.

BTW, I always thought people in those so-called power ties looked stiff and unapproachable.

Have we ever had an era like this with a pronouncement a minute. For the vast majority of human beings, life doesn't revolve around Pennsylvania avenue but the denizens there think it does.

The Question:

How many plays did Shakespear write about Kings?

The Headlines:

--All Markets Surge Following Powell Hint at September rate Cut; Powell says Fed will Watch Closely at Tender State of Economy after Latest Jobless Info Surprise; Says Fed Sees Evidence of Tariff Fed Inflation.

--SC Overrides Judge Blocking $783 Million in NIH Cuts for DEI Research; Chief Roberts Voted to Keep Ban on Cuts.

--Florida Judge Orders Indefinite Halt to Further Construction of Alligator Alcatraz.

The new most stressful situation in our delightful digital world is paying on a tablet that asks for a large tip while the server who did nothing but put a scone in a bag stands and stares as you manipulate the machine to give a lower custom tip. It really gets bad when they call over their co-workers to roll their eyes in unison as you turn red and start breathing rapidly. Get me outta there.

I see where Zoom’s stock popped this morning, Does that mean somebody is predicting a new wave of covid closeting.

I notice a lot of PGA players wearing Nike outfits. Some of the shorts look decent but I’m just not into wearing Nike Swooshes all over my body. Unless of course I was aid well to be a billboard.

Happy Gilmore 2 blasted through Neilson Ratings. I guess I'd better go back and watch Gilmore #1 to be relevant in society and before they bring out Gilmore 3 next year.

I like to leave a couple of car lengths between me and the driver ahead, which your basic wild-eyed swervers see as an opportunity ot paly Nascar. Screeeeeeeeech!

Our Admin just announced that State Department Agents are going to Review All 55 million-plus foreigners here on legal visas. Actually, i looks like a convenient way to probe the backgrounds of students on college campuses.  If they find any infraction at all the infractionor is out of here. But who are the people who are definitng thenfractions? Pronouncements like that don't make me feel comfortable even though not even close to that situation. Maybe we could make Snoop Dog head of our State Department Immigrants Review and infractions board

Wouldn’t be kind of cool if Tommy Fleetwood won this FedEx segment as his first ever US PGA title. He is in first place now after two rounds. He is a good guy. I hope he has a solid Visa.

The Answer:

Ok, there were 10: King John. Richard II. Henry IV (Part 1), Henry IV (Part 2), Henry V, Henry VI (1), Henry VI (2), Henry VI (3), Richard III and Henry VIII. Now you might consider Julius Caeser as kind of a king. Its nice that our founders did away with the concept of Kings.

Speaking of Kings, here's one who found himself with a little help from an English woman.
