Agonizing:

 

So, today the big one is in DC and it has to do better than the lackluster event in Alaska last Friday. Trump actually looked quite meek up there at the highly anticipated press conference that was a dud. Today Zelensky will be in the Oval Office but this time not bare and naked as before but with leaders of France, UK, Germany, Italy, Finland, NATO and the EU. The reporting focus will be  commentary on the decision power in that room. But the most anxious are the real people of Ukraine who are sitting there hoping that the war will end and that they won't be divided up by world leaders. It’s the people of Ukraine who are important, certainly not the Prestige of Putin. 

 

Lately I’ve been praying for a rainy day, so I won't feel so h guilty doing nothing. 

 

Despite the continuing world harangue, you realize things are not so bad when driving through a small off the track town yesteday you see folks of all ages etc gathered t behind a small white wooden colonial church for a Sunday afternoon community lunch get-together.

It’s a cool Fall like day here today, Maybe Climate Change is a shifting of seasons, and we'll eventually get our winters back in September.

I made myself listen to Shostakovich yesterday and it wasn’t too bad. 

 

There used to be more radio and TV sports talk shoes that were thoughtful, calm and intelligent. Now it's mainly complainers, screamers and fire starters. 

 

 

The conscensus seems to agree that European countries are against any land deal in a Ukraine settlement. They see it as a dangerous precedent for their continent that abuts Russia.  

 

Today will be a news reporter feast. There will be many opinions based on nothing, and maybe some results along the way.

Scottie Scheffler just keeps on coming. When a leader looks over his shoulder, he will see Scottie there not making mistake, hitting gems just when needed. In case you missed Scottie yesterday, he is the latest of a handful of golfers to match Tiger by become a oterh player to have won at least five tournaments at least two years in a row. Tiger won at least six tournaments each year from 1999 to 2007! Jack Nicklaus, Anika Sorensstam and Walter Hagan were multiple winners in multiple consecutive seasons. Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan won at least five tournaments but in separate seasons. 

 

You have to wonder it the White House sh  Chefs will have Touches of French, Italian and German food at lunch today. Would be a nice array of taste treats. They’ll probably have Tacos.  

 

Maybe they’ll have Dover Sole for Starmer. Dover Sole is about as good as it gets for fish lovers.  

 

Netflix says its new series Hunting Wives is doing very well. Netflix a has always done will with movies featuring gregarious woman talking a lot while solving crimes in their towns. Hunting Wives is not for me.   

 

Speaking of popular movies, Helen Mirren says it would be just plain wrong to have a female James Bond. But you know Hollywood... they can mess up a good thing.  

 

What bothered me most during that forty minute buildup to the press conference that went nowhere was that I never heard an astute commentator say, this is all about Ukrainians sitting on the edge of their chairs wondering what Putin and Trump will do to them.  

 

The Answer: 

Of course it is Pakistan. Yes, Pakistan was once part of India which as you know was for manu years a key British Colony.
