Tim Tebow?

Today's Tids Issue 2,855
Opening Stuff:

Personally, I think the publicity deck has been stacked against accused murderer Zimmerman, so I'm rooting for him. The amazing President Obama jumped to emotional conclusions over that arrogant Harvard professor creep, and he did it again with Trevon Martin. The prosecutor is going to turn this into a racism case and there will be plenty of court house protestors to pile on. This is no way to get a fair trial.

I think Belichick took Tim Tebow to give local sports talk shows something to argue about...considering that he himself never says anything. It's the least he could do. I like Tebow. He is a tough player who can make things happen. Who knows, he might become another Mike Vrabel or a reliable play-maker like Troy Brown. Talented, big, strong guys with great hearts are keepers.

In case you are keeping score, Voyager I just moved 11 Billion miles away from Earth. You'd have to think that it wouldn't be long til they entered the atmosphere of an inhabitable planet. Hey, maybe that's where Hillary is hiding, first emissary in space!

A local columnist wonders if an identity thief who takes on one laden with debt is responsible for paying back the money.

The Question:
Which Charities have the worst percentages of cash collected versus cash directed for specified aid versus cash spent on soliciting donations. Bonus: The NHL Playoffs start tomorrow. What do you think the total number of points scored will be? Give me your predictions for a 4, 5, 6, and 7 game series...and I'll give you mine.

The Headlines:
--Global Market Manipulations Has WS Concerned; Stocks Open Sharply Down.
--Blast In Kabul Kills 14 In Afghan Supreme Court.
--Russia Considering Offering Asylum To Snwden; France, Iceland Also Warming To US Leaker..
--Rioting In Istanbul Grows In Ugliness.

My emotions for Snowden are mixed. Of course he's a a traitor by definition -- and leaders like Boehner and Diane Feinstien guickly and unequivocally denounced him as that. Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg called the revelation by Snowden the "Most significant" discludere in American history. Elsburg showed how the US Government systematically fooled the folks about the VN war. Many at that time felt the strategy of waging war should not be a public thing. In the Snowden's case, Americans are aghast at the  thought of the Government having so much access into their privacy. so they are walking the ethical tightrope decidung for or against a man who broke serious rules or who gave them insight into the possibility of runaway Big Brother snooping.

There are about 320 Million people in the US, and if 10% of them have maudlin stories to tell for money, that's about 32 Mil. That means that multiple morning and afternoon TV talk shows can survive for several thousand millennium. Shoot me. Bring back the soap opeara.

Social Security is the bases for the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the US public. Citizens and their employers paid into it and the Government, plain and simple, robbed it. Now becasue the thieves have to fund it to save it, they are calling it an entitlement. In cases of sole proprietors and other one person defined businesses they provided the employee and employer money. These people would have well over a million now if they had let it grow untouched in a secured fund.

The same columnist as above wonders why eyeglasses cost more than IPhones.

RI keeps on producing great young kids who unfortunately will probably be moving on to other states with good jobs after college. The latest is and won the championship races i n The national

What do you get when you open a jar of organic pickles? A: Healthy mold in minutes! Yum. Bring back preservatives.

As people follow Pelosi's advice and read ObamaCare, It is becoming clear that the boondoggle is fraught with problems. One of the main concerns seems to be cost. It now appears that that paying the penalty for not signing up will be cheaper than signing up and paying premiums. This means that we can expect the younger, healthier amongst will pass up joining OC, thus leaving the insured masses as an older and more sickly bloc. This means costs will go up more rapidly than actuarial tables  may have orginally indicated and higher premiums will necessarily follow. Can we go back to being the United States of America...now?

Why protestors do stupid Things, Department:
CBS News teased the next story with the headline, "Protestor with a Flair runs on French Open Court". No wonder idiots continue to to do stupid things, they are treated as pleasant, humorius interrutions by the Media. They should have teased, "Another A-Hole interrupts great Tennis with super athletes; Police bash Intruder and lock him up."

EV meets WIFI, Department:
Charging stations for electrical cars are, and will be at a faster rate, popping up all over the place. In fact, the current 50,000 in the world is expected to grow to 10 Million by 2020. Looks like the next big opportunity for Starbucks or Dunkin' or Micky D -- charging stations with coffee and lots of wifi. The fastest charges take about 30 mins (Note: A simple plug-in at home tales about 6-8 hours). So there will be plenty of time in the future for communal lounging during journeys. "Sorry I'm late dear, I had to plug in!" Wham!

Dunkin' and Micky will have to feature veggie donuts and meatless burgers to make the plugging-in experience truly green and organic.

The Answer:

The "Kids Wish Network" accumulated $127 Mil at a cost of $109 Mil. The other charities with the highest solicitation costs are Cancer Fund of Amer, Childrens Wish Foundation, American Breast cancer Foundation, Firefighters Charitable F, Breast Cancer relief F, Intl, Union Of Police Associations, National veterans Service F, Amer Asso, Dtate Troopers and #10 Children's cancer fund of Amer. Interestingly, on the total list of 50, most of the funds with the highest costs were for children, cancer and Fire and Police. Bonus: Here's my predictions for total points scored in the Stanley cup layoffs: 4 game Boston Sweep - 19; 5 - 24; 6 - 30; 7 - 34.

It seems to me that one of the problems with investing in stocks going forward is that after the run-up from profound defeat, most stocks are now at fair value.
