Today's Tids Issue 3,258
Opening Stuff:
There’s a good chance
today that the Tids will arrive with icicles hanging off as it passes
through the frozen cyber. But don’t worry; I try to always send a lot of warmth
along with it too.
The surfers were having
a fantastic day. It was Beachy-Keen. “Beachy-keen”?
I think that
President Obama will spend the rest of his term campaigning for Emperor of
the Global Progressive Community. Of course, with the Hillary topping money he’ll
be making on the post Presidency circuit, he may find Capitalism.
Driving bumper to
bumper at 50-60 mph in a snow storm is further proof that America is losing
its collective mind. Whatever happened to common sense? How much faster do you
get home being 50 inches from the car in front versus 50 yards?
The Question:
I was reminded of Robert Mitchum today. He made a ton of
good movies, many celebrating US might in WWII. Name what are considered his
ten top films. Bonus: Shirley Bassey
was the big voice in many James Bond movies. Which ones?

As hard as I look,
I find there is no “Freedom of Droning” in the first Amendment. Hobbyists and enthusiasts
are clamoring to join in the soaring, but the Gov is putting the brakes on the
excitement, not just for people with backyards, but for all commercial uses too.
The basic claim of investigators is that there has just been no, “0”, attention
paid to safety. Jeff Bezos will be waiting for a while before diaper delivery
is feasible. “5 pound bricks” falling from the sky is not good for the public.
Actually many of
the libs are capitalist wolves in sheep’s clothing. Gore’s Global warming is
all about creating new markets that provide expanded marketing opportunities
for alternative energy companies.
People of all faiths
get blasted satirically by the irreverent and unkind cultural elite all of the time.
Fortunately they turn the other cheek, but the slaps still smart.
A tip O’ the Tids Tam
to the Chorus of Westerly RI who will perform their fortieth and last “12th
Night”. It is and has been an amazing adventure
in creativity with fantastic music, full of color and magical shenanigans. I
wonder what magic they have planned for the years ahead.
Union leaders are
capitalists. They market labor unrest for profit.
The official portrait
of RI’s Outgoing governor Chafee looks like Robert Mitchum in his serial killer
role in the movie “Night of the Hunter”.
The ten states with
the highest death rates from alcohol poisoning are Alaska, New Mexico, Rhode
Island, Arizona, Wyoming, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut.
Speaking of
alcoholism, diminishing the stigma is one of the most important ingredients
to moving the afflicted to recovery.
The Answer:
Number One according to a movie fan vote, is “Night of the Hunter”
(See Governor Chafee. Next is Cape Fear, followed by Heaven Knows Mr. Allison, The
Enemy Below, Thunder Road, Out of the Past, El Dorodo, River of No Return, Ryan’s
Daughter and The Longest Day. The next five are Man With a Gun, (Another) Cape
Fear, The List of Adrian Messenger, Macao, The Hunters and The Big Sleep. Bonus: Bassey sang the themes of
Goldfinger, Diamond are Forever and Moonraker.
Shirley sings it:
Big NFL picks
tomorrow. How exciting can this Tids thing get!
