Today's Tids Issue 3,256
Opening Stuff:
I stand upon the docks so cold, where
breezes blow - icy, bold. The waters darkened to an ominous glow, Then silently
comes the gentle snow. I stand amidst a calming peace, Happy I’m wearing extra
fleece.
Are athletics
overwhelming sensibility on college campuses?
Seriously, does
the USA really need any new laws, regulations, authorities, baby sitters? Basically
all the country needs is batter oversight to assure that he laws we have had forever
are being utilized to their fullest. And, maybe several large tablespoons of
morality and ethics thrown into the mix.
Mayor Bill di Blasio,
Progressive, NYC, wants to command respect from the Police force. Except, he
thinks commanding respect is ordering it through his lieutenants. As opposed to
working in behalf of the officers to gain it. I would turn my back on such a
hypocrite even though the NY Times would condemn me…which I would wear as a
badge of honor.
Go,
Gina, Go. The new Governor standing in front of the great white stet
house as snow whirled around her head reminded me a little of JFK on his
innaugeural day as he urged Uthe US to make sacrificies to get better.
Good start, but, it what happens enx tis what is important.
The Question:
The first Wheel of Fortune Show debuted 40 years ago today.

wedding anniversary George and Martha. You were a nice couple.
The newspaper headline
reads, “Obama climate efforts threatened by GOP.” An honest headline would
be, “GOP to add sensibility to Obama Climate Admin regulations and executive orders.”
Allie Sherman,
former NY Football Giants coach, died. Actually, I didn’t like Allie Sherman. I
blame him for the fall of what were my beloved NY Giants of the1950’s, before
the ragtag nomadic Patriots started to
put it together.. He dismantled the greats, my heroes: Andy Robustelli, Sam Huff,
Frank Gifford and the Roosevelts – Brown and Grier; YA Tittle and Kyle Rote; The
the D-Backs like Emlin Tunnel And Tom Landry and Dick Nolan. Sherman lived on those
players he inherited for a year or two, and then methodically axed them getting
little in return. The Giants weren’t a factor for the next 30 years. “Good-Bye
Allie”.
Well, one thing
for sure that seems to be occurring in the wake of anti-Police protests, crime
is starting to pay. Hog tied police are becoming wary of doing their jobs to
the fullest extent as they are callously falsely accused by the unknowledgeable,
agendized opposition.
The big controversy
of the moment in the NFL is the strange call of an interference penalty in
the Dallas-Detroit game. Frankly, I have been enjoying the non-calls I have
been seeing in the play-offs. Let em’ play, I say. The game never should be
about trying to draw penalties. It’s about great players battling each other,
making outstanding catches or magnificent break-ups. It will be good for Brandon
Browner.
The new treasurer
of RI, Seth Magaziner (His dad Ira was Hillary’s “Gruber” on nationalized
health care) has just named as his Communications Director a woman whose father
is a big player in the RI AFL/CIO. One of the biggest problems facing the state
and the man in charge of Budgets is public employee pension escalation. Go
figure.
The oil dip is
rapidly redistributing wealth.
The Answer:
The first co-Hosts of the show that has been enjoyed by
generations together were Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford, a beauty queen
winner and model, was married to ABC Sports guru Dick Ebersol briefly, and then became involved with game show originator Dan
Enright, working as a VP Barry/Enright Communications. She went on to get a PHD
degree in Clinical Psychology and aired a program on Christian TV. Her last TV
gig was modeling prizes on Hollywood Squares in 2003. Woolery, who was replaced
by Sajak in 1981, started as a singer on the program “Your Hit Parade. After
Wheel he went on to star as host in several game shows. He is a conservative libertarian
and big republican supporter. He had children by each of four wives, one of
whom was the daughter of David Nelson.
I feel like I’m under
a snowdrift this morning, and it is nice and quiet.
