Today's Tids Issue 3,264
Opening Stuff:
What would be
courageous and ground breaking would be cartoons that celebrated religion.
Any angry, insecure person can be negative and insulting.
Ok, ok, I’ve
rambled enough. Time to make the picks for Sunday. First, how about the four
great QB’s -- Tom Brady who just keeps on setting new playoff all time records,
and is now a man inspired. I think talent wise, Aaron Rogers is the best today.
But, Andrew Luck will certainly be one of the best tomorrow., perhaps dueling
Russ Wilson, who I believe, is much better than people generally give him
credit for. Seattle is one tough team and seems to be reaching their peak.
Green Bay has a great quarterback who will t=do everything possible on one leg
to win. But, Seattle is just playing too well right now, and their ferocious
“D” will keep Aaron hopping. The Indianapolis Colts have won 100% of rematches
where they lost the first. Yikes! The Pats aren’t sensational but, they are
very resourceful, and I think just may be smart enough to get to the SuperBowl.
So, I’m going Seahawks and Patriots.
I think the Swiss
should be sending St. Bernard dogs with brandy kegs to wall street. It’s
the least they can do.
The big uproar with
the Oscar nominations is the “lack of diversity – all white actors and no
women as directors. Aren’t achievements supposed to be based on achieving and
not arbitrary quotas? Maybe the Academy
has finally figured it out. Maybe this
is the beginning of the end of our Trophies for all society. Reward excellence
and not attendance.
Gold is rising,
which should make you feel uncomfortable about your stock holdings.
The Question:
I mentioned the four great Quarterbacks who will be playing
on Sunday. Who do you think are the other six who would round out the top ten
in the NFL. Bonus: One of the Top
QB’s is Tom Brady who’s income pales next to his model wife’s $40 Million/year.
Name the top ten models. I have never
understood where the money comes from to pay such enormous sums to people for
being thin.

BIll Belichick
doesn’t work well in the USofA culture because he’s one of those people who
just gets things done without talking about it.
The next big trend in
golf will be Arccos or something like it. With the Arccos system, the
golfer attaches a sensor to the end of each club and then syncs it with a smart
phone. With it, the golfer can map out his shots, get club selections and hopefully
find errant shots. It’s really quite fascinating. It’ll be great and only add about
a half hour to a round of golf. I’ll get one in about ten years when learn how
to swing a club a little better.
It only took about 2
months for somebody to notice that the rug
in the office of the Sherriff of Pinellas County Florida read, “In Dog
We Trust”. NBC did it, but it was just a few people.
A major objective of
Executive management is to find ways to operate more efficiently when less
money is available. But the inept White House
only understands retribution against those trying continue effectiveness
with less money. When creative thinking is called for, the WH flounders.
Surreptitious Government
Department:
A fully legal Wisconsin gun dealer, Hawkins Guns, found
suddenly and without warning that their Credit Union had closed their bank
accounts. They were told that US Justice Department had put them on a “High
Risk” list of companies which are not allowed access to banking. It was learned
that they were victims of a USA action called Operation Choke Point. Eric Holders’
department arbitrarily included legal
gun dealers on a no banking list that was initially established for law
flaunters like Escort Services, Ponzi Schemes, Sellers of TV cable descramblers
and thirty other so-called nefarious industries. The Government agencies aiming
to end the businesses they don’t like include Elizabeth Warren’s baby – The DOJ
Consumer Protection Branch. Feeling good about your government?
Speaking of losers,
how about the anarchists who blocked the major artey into Boston yesterday!
Nuts. In the name of wakening complacent
whites to the programmed assault by police on blacks. Of course their basic
premise is entirely wrong as there is no programmed assault by police agencies
against blacks. All they did was alienate people against their so-called cause
and deter ambulances, people going to Dana Farber for Chemo treatments and
average people who actually haveto work for living. Which, might not be a bad
Idea for these scofflaws and fools.
Reading Between the
Lines Movie Reviews:
--Michael Mann has made some pretty exciting movies over the
years, and he goes modern with this new thriller about the Cyber world,
Blackhat. It’s urgent and tense, one of those new detective films where the hunted
is zeros and ones. It’s actually a pretty scary film at a new level. It’s like
a ghost story where the ghosts are real. I’d go. It focuses on a potential cyber
attack on a Nuke Plant.
--I have to say that although some sophomoric critics thing Wedding
Ringer has some value, the trailers totally turn me off. Looks real stupid to
me. It’s about a guy who rents himself
out as a best man with some typical wedding shenanigans. Count me out.
--Paddington Bear is adorable and the kids will like it.
The Answer:

order are #10 Ben Roethlisberger,
Phillip Rivers, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Tony Romo, Andrew Luck, Drew
Brees, Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Hey, wait a minute! – no Russ
Wilson. He’s still in my top 5. BTW, the all time top ten includes Brady and Manning.
The rest are John Elway, Sammy Baugh, Otto Graham, Johnny Unitas, Roger
Staubach (My personal favorite), Brett Favre, Steve Young, Bart Starr and Joe
Montana. Bonus: the top Ten models by
dollars earned are Natalia Vodianova ($4M), Hilary Rhoda ($5M), Alessandra
