Today's Tids Issue 3,492
Opening Stuff:
One
of the problems with getting older is that you don’t
believe in politicians either. I used to like believing in the country’s
leaders.
I
believe in people, especially the way people worked
together to create and sustain the Wounded Warrior program. We see men and
woman in commercials struggling to overcome the unimaginable and it breaks your
heart. We see families unite behind their fallen soldier – father, mother, son,
daughter -- and your heart fills with love. But we may only be seeing the
success, not all of the blank stares; little of the incredible pain, the total despair.
But we know it’s there and we hail all of the people brought together by
organizations like Wounded Warrior to ease the suffering and offer hope for
those thrusst into the battle to preserve freedom for all. I believe in
Americans
And
God said to Moses, “Come forth”; but he came in 3rd

It
looks like we could be seeing great Christmas Cookouts this
suddenly fair season, with everything roasting on an open fire. Get out the reindeer
antler toss game.
The
Question:
Minimal population growth has RI on the brink of
losing one Congressman (Which is good, considering that “One” could be
Ciciline!) 7 States only have one congress person. Who are they? Bonus: Name the five most significant

A
lot of financial experts say we’ve been fighting
a recession for quite a while. The good news is that nobody has succumbed to
the temptations to say we are in it. The power of positive thinking works well
in the financial world.
On
the Wrong Track, Department:
The IRS has always intimidated US citizens. But,
now under the agenda of the current Admin they seem to be more proactive. For
instance, it was just announced that the IRS will take away Citizens passports
who are behind in their taxes. But, The Admin is fighting like hell not to have
passports of suspected terrorists revoked. It is just another little event in this
government that makes you believe that Obama doesn’t see m to think as highly
of US citizens as he does of people from other countries.
Since
today is the day before the day before The day,
I think I’ll get NFL picking done now. Last week a couple aggressive choices brought
me back to 12-4 for a YTD of 145-82 (64%). This will be a tough week because it
is hard to tell who is playing for what and which team will show up. Christmas
Eve should have been a midnight mass game between the Saints and Cardinals, but
alas it is SD at Oakland. SD looked good last week, but I’m a believer in the Raiders.
There’s a huge game Saturday between the Eagles and Skins. The Iggles are at home,
but I kinda like the Skins. Houston should beat Tenn and KC wll take down a Cleveland
team that never quits. Indy will stay alive beating Miami in a close one. The
nobody cares game of the week will see Detroit beat the Niners. Two flagging
teams are Buffalo and Dallas. I’ll go Bills. TB has surprised and disappointed.
The Bears have done that too. TB at home. Carolina will sharpen up for the
playoffs and beat Atlanta for 15-0. Pitt should shoot down the Ravens. Jax-NO
is a toss-up and a real tough pick I take the Saints. Gulp. I think St. Louis
will give the Seahawks a fight, but Seattle will win. Another really important battle
involves GB fighting to stay #1 in division against Arizona fighting for a bye.
Ariz. In the NYG-Vikes game, Minn has to win to stay with GB. Giants has to win
to stay relevant. Minn at home. Yikes, another heart stopper has Cinn at
Denver. Denver is my choice in this 2nd String QB matchup. And then there
is the Jets New England. The Jets are almost there and are playing well. The Pats
are beat up. They hate each other. NE has something to prove and they will.
A
reader suggests that US customs takes all refugee
Syrian men between the ages of 20 and 30 and send them to Paris Island. There
they would be well trained and would then eventually be sent back to Syria to
fight ISIS. That seems to solve myriad problems – hwere to put refugees and
boots on the ground.
News
is news, crises are crises…until journalists get tired of
it.
There
are reports from the Caribbean that hundreds of
small boats under sail, motor and oar power full of US senior citizens have
been sighted heading towards Central American countries. The theory among
analysts is that they will sneak back into America as illegals to enjoy better
benefits than they get now.
Community
Organizers Like Radical Groups, Department:
Apparently the US Admin has officially condemned a
new United Kingdom report approved by David Cameron that described the Muslim
Brotherhood as “anti-democratic, openly supportive of terrorism, dedicated to
establishing an Islamic government and opposed to the rule of law, individual
liberty and equality.” The report 18 months in the making was slammed by the “O:
Admin as flying in the face of the Brotherhood’s history as a ‘non-violent
group.” Huh! How come the Admin didn’t support their duly elected president of Egypt?
Cameron says the UK will refuse issuing visas to members of the brotherhood.

Answer:
The seven single congressman states are Alaska,
Montana, North and South Dakota, Vermont, Delaware and Wyoming. Bonus: The big chains for convenience and
casual dining are Panera, McDonalds, Darden, Chipotle, Jack-in-the-Box (Which
Owns Chipotle rival Ordona), Yum and Starbucks.
A little Christmas
cheer:
