Like puffy summer clouds, Egrets stand, wading in marshy, silk black pools.

Todays Tid Issue 3.476
Opening Stuff:

Every human could be a poet if they took the time each day to stand and observe quietly, beauty that is always at their fingertips. Eyes see, ears hear, vistas and sounds that are always there but often unnoticed. The cleansing of a coastal marsh by a lazy, zig-zagging stream; A brick walkway amidst a concrete city; the innocent smile on child’s face while parents worry if they can afford food. A world that appears hateful is always alive with goodness and enriched with beauty.

Zigzagging doesn’t sound too poetic, does it?

Hey, it’s December, as if you didn’t know it by all of the Christmas music, (Ok, nowadays that means it could be August) But December is a wonderful month, icy at times, but in the end the warmest for giving hearts. Kids anxiously await the chubby guy in the red suit, while parents scurry to make everything just perfect. Mangers are being set up in church yards, and lawyers are polishing their briefs to protect them. Along the way, we remember Pearl Harbor Day and vow never to be surprised again. We celebrate birthdays of those kids who were unfortunate enough to be born next to Christmas. Fall TV shows wind down, and football teams gear up for playoffs. Yes, December is a thrilling time that ends with perfect love.

In case you missed it, Today is “Giving Tuesday”. The call is out to all to send money you may spend on extraneous gifts to charities. Organizers want a day after two buying marathons to focus on the needy, be it the poor or researchers clamoring to money to fight diseases. Just think, if everybody opened their wallets wider than ever and this day took off, we may over time be able to eliminate politicians expensive promises.

The Question:
States were graded on corruption and only three reached a grade as high as C, making them least corrupt – Alaska, Cal and Connecticut. What are the eleven worst? Bonus: In what year in the 19th century did Congress have to sort out and pick the winner among four men vying for the presidency? Who won and who were the four? Bonus 2: What was the name of the Emperor in 1941 who approved waging war against 3 countries. What were the countries?

I though last night, The Voice was much better than average as almost all rose to the challenge. Song choices were also good. To give you an example of the quality, or at least the appeal, 7 of them were in the Top Ten of ITune downloads: 2. Jordan 3. Barrett 4. Madi 5. Emily Ann 8. Jeffery 9. Shelby 10. Amy. Ok, Amy is a good singer, but I’m tired of her style. Of the 7 I thought Barrett Baber and Jeffery Austin were the best. Barrett got back to his Country roots and was excellent. Jeffery is always good and his song was beautiful. Emily and Madi started slow and awkward, but finished strong. Jordan Smith sang effortlessly but Halleluiah was just ok for me. Shelby Brown definitely broke out last night and again, she went back to the country where she is strongest. Korin Bulkowsi was excellent last night, and deserves not having to struggle in the bottom again. But she might because the worst of the night was Braden Sunshine how has an enormous “Cute Guy” vote (Lord knows why). Zach Seabaugh commands a stage and the screaming teen girls and will probably come up high. Sunshine should be dimmed and go home, but it may finally be Korin.

A man has been given approval to build in Albany NY “The Museum of Political Corruption”. Send in your nominees.

Did you read where Tim Tebow and Cranston Rhode Island’s own Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, former Nick Jonas sweetheart, split because of his virginity vows. He apparently is deeply in love, but she isn’t feeling enough vibrations. Did they ever think of getting married, or won’t his parents let him?

While New England rued the injuries to offensive stars, it was the absence of Donta Hightower that probably had most to do with Denver wining the game with long runs. Prior to Hightower’s loss, the Broncs were averaging about 2.6 yards per carry. When he left due to a knee injury, the average went up to 8.8 ypc. I know, I know, nobody outside NE cares. But sometimes the editor’s privilege preempts reader needs. Tis is another example of people only knowing what they can see, and they see best TB throwing to good pass catchers. That’s a litttle like cute guys on The Voice winning over better singers.

Did you see where “Illegal” Immigrants in Oregon are suing the State over a law that would deny them driver’s licenses. Have you put on your straight jacket yet? Hang on Sloopy!

The scary part of this illegal immigrant mess is the number of Americans who condone and excuse unlawfulness.

Did you know that there is a price list on the “Dark Web” that covers what will be paid for all types of stolen personal information – credit cards are relatively cheap, but bank login info get’s big bucks depending on size of accounts? Hang on Sloopy!

The Parking Lot: Chapter 31 continues…
Nancy pressed the stop buttn on her phone, shuddering as hs watched the curling balk smoke full of her memories, and looked over at the still floating Jared, “He’s with us.”
She smiled as he stared at her as he has since they awoke. She got up and walked to him, leaning down and kissing him hard on the lips. “That’s a wake up call! We have to get serious.” Then she held is his hand and laughed, “If I knew you were this fragile I would have resisted you a few more days.”
He put his arms around d her and hugged deeply, “I’ll be good, promise.”
She enjoyed te comfort of his warmth, “If they burned down my house, I figure it won’t be long before we see a boat prowling these waters.” She pressed ger head into his chest. “We’ll just have to snuggle in here for a while. She leaned her head back and smiled. She though she heard his heart beating a little faster. “This place kept my family safe from King Phillip, and it will do it for us.” With that she unwrapped his arms and grabbed her binoculars, turning to head up to that concealed lookout point.
It was going to be hard for Jared to become rational, but he knew he had to now. He watched her climb up the small hill and knew for sure that he had never felt anything like this, ever.

New notes from Joe Biden’s book, “Thoughts that diverted my mind while sitting in the White House: “What do butterflies feel in their stomachs when they fall in love?”

The Answer:
The Center for Public Integrity, as you may have realized, did not think much of any state, but eleven were really low. Worst is Michigan. The other ten “F’s” are Delaware, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn, South Dakota and Wyoming. Sorry RI’ers and Illini, I know you all think your state is the worst in the universe. Bonus: In 1824 John Q Adams beat out Andrew Jackson, Wm. H. Crawford and Henry Clay to become the President. Bonus 2: In 1941 Emperor Hirohito approved waging war against US, UK and Netherlands.

BTW, I have to thank everybody who sends in good stuff that I routinely steal for the morning mess, and the inspiration I get from your opinions and noodlings.
