For Unity:
Happy
America!, e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y. This is that great holiday
that celebrates all of the people of the US of A -- People of all opinions and
all actions and all contributions; every single one. Ideology often confuses the-truth,
but the essence of the American revolution remains steady through the rhetoric.
Some say the USA has lost its edge. Hey, there is tons of stuff going on that I
really don’t like, But every time I open my eyes, I see great people everywhere…an
I mean everywhere. The focus is on going the wrong way, but we still have moms baking
apple pies and hard working people making great products in factories. For
every one rude, irresponsible millennial, there are a million contributing new
ideas for a contemporary society. For every lowlife greedy business person,
there are a million taking risks to maintain a strong growing economy. For every
misguided liberal espousing misrepresented facts, there are a million working
with the least advantaged fellow Americans in difficult places. Americans have
feelings and ideas that don’t always mesh, are sometimes 180 degrees apart, but
the vast majority are in their own way emulating the courage of the men and
women who rose up against foreign tyranny and traditional oppressive sovereignty
to forge the greatest country in the world, maybe in the history of the world. Proud
to be an American is the only ideology that counts. Today is about us, we the people.
Pat yourself on the back.
The
Question:
Name the last ten states admitted to the Union. Bonus: What two US Presidents died on July
4 exactly 50 years after the Declaration of Independence.

Democrats
are having second thoughts about their demands to ban gun
sales to people on No Fly Lists. The sense is that no fly lists are racial profiling
since such a great proportion of the names are Muslim.
Some
schools say grades are going up.
They gloat, “things could not be fina”.
I hate to be the one who must interrupt,
But, most of their Kids come from China.
Americans
will have to adapt to change, because the global
economy, like it or not, is forcing it. The USA does not now own, Budweiser,
Titleist, GE Appliances, Sheraton Hotels, good ole’ Smithfield hams, and sidekick
French’s Mustard, and yes kids, The Good Humor! We may not look like we
anymore, but we are still we inside, aren’t we? Things will change but let’s
hope the Government isn’t bought by one of the many socialist countries.
One
of those NYC elite kindergarten schools, The Bank Street School,
is teaching the young kids with minds of mush to be ashamed of being white.
Talk about racial profiling.
Trump
should drop the Indian heritage attacks against Warren.
He sounds stupid on this worn out, overdone topic, and just feeds the counter
attacks from the Hillary reservation.
Despite
her staged hemming and hawing, Hillary has been running
for the Presidency since the day she lost to Obama. You have to know that it
clouded her judgment as SoS. So, I would say that any of these rushes to
judgment about Hillary finagling for her political and financial advancement
are probably true.
The
Parking Lot: Chapter 66.
About 7
miles away, as the crow flies from Nancy’s lake island, was the center of
Bristol RI where the crowds were gathering. After all, it was July 4th,
and this was Bristol, home of the oldest parade in America.
The hordes
were huge, and Nancy and Jared expected to be among the throng until the minor
emergency arose. Rows of people 8 deep along a 2 and a half mile stretch of red,
white and blue decorated small town roads awaited the gigantic parade with bands
galore and all kinds of civic and people organizations; the waving and laughing
between marchers and neighbors along the way. Among the most hearty smilers and
wavers of course were all of the State’s politicians, including Nancy’s new
ally Attorney General Gerry McGuire.
McGuire
was talking with the Governor and local US congressman, when he heard the
police car siren and beating drums of the band that would lead the way. The
parade was about to begin and even these politicians felt the fervor of the big
day. Gerry had only walked the route once before, but, he expected to be down this
way many more times in the next month, if what Nancy told him was true. AG’s
always used words like “if” even though he now believed Nancy totally. He knew
he was right when Margaret had agreed, saying she didn’t seem so bad.
His body
started to adapt to the mood and rhythm of the music, and his hand waved to
crowds who today were adoring, even politicians. His eyes began scanning the
crowd for a glimpse of Nancy. She was quite the woman he now was thinking since
their meeting, and maybe one of the most powerful people, in the state right
now. And, nobody knew her.
The
enthusiasm of the crowd was now at full speed as the marchers toed the red, white
and blue center line of Hope Street. The morning sun was glistening off the
harbor that had been the birth place of many a classic sailing vessel. No one,
though, saw the glint of the sun on the barrel of the rifle held in steady
hands atop the newly renovated small hotel about half way down the street.
AG
McGuire was thinking about next year, as he experienced the rush of USA
patriotism. As he thought of Nancy and the contributions her old family had
made to the area, is head turned towards another sound.
The crack
of the rifle sounded like any other firework of the day. The crowds didn’t
notice anything unusual at all until somebody screamed and all eyes looked at
the red blotch growing on Gerry McGuire’s white shirt, just before he collapsed
upon the patriotic center line.
The
parade went black for Gerry McGuire. The cell phone in his breast pocket vibrated
over an unfeeling heart.
The
Answer:
Obviously, most of the ten came from out west. Hawaii
is the newest preceded by Alaska and then Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah,
Wyoming, Idaho, Washington and Montana. The last Eastern state admitted was
West Virginia #35. Surprisingly East Coast States Maine and Florida were only 27
and 23. Bonus: John Adams and Thomas
Jefferson both died on the fiftieth anniversary of the Declaration.
This
is one of those 4th of July years when celebrations
would seem more honest and American if we didn’t hear from any of our Prudential
candidates. Just let the flags wave and bands play. Yup. That’s good for me.
It
seems to me that the uniters we used to have for
the people’s good, have morphed into dividers for political ambition.
America…the
Beautiful,
In the mountains, plains, valleys.
Oceans, rivers and deep blue skies.
But mostly I feel it in my heart
When I look into, an American’s eyes.
