Whatever is in the eyes of the beholder.

Today's Tids  Issue 3,660
For Differences:

I remember reading once about a developer who wanted to build a 30 story building on a bucolic hillside neath an iconic mountain ridge outside of Hartford Ct. Of course, local residents were outraged declaring the marring of natural beauty. But the developer smirked saying that beauty was in the eyes of the beholder.  The same goes for fitness for a job. It depends what you are looking for. Obama is looking for progressive, overwhelming big government and out of control spending, incentivized by a deepening of the divide between opposing factions in the country (Or creating a divide where there is none). Trump, while loony and careless, says he wants to get rid of the Obama/Hill energy draining factions and big government suffocation. Fitness is in the eyes of the beholder.

Time after time I have found after visiting various restaurants that high prices do not ensure the best food. High prices are usually for ambience, reputation and chef’s, none of which really matters to me.

I’m now hearing the drops of a consistent rain upon my roof. It is like a symphony for a parched earth. A soft breeze flowing gently through the windows freshens the air. If a good summer rain is what they mean by high humidity, I’m all for it.

The Question:

With the Olympics in full force, restaurants should be serving the taste of Brazil. What are some essential Brazilian foods?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Open Higher; S&P, Dow Hold In Positive Territory; Consumer Debt Rising

--New Photos Show China Building Jet Fighter Hangars On South Sea Manufactured Islands.

--Clinton Aides Emails Show Relationship Between Sate Department And Clinton Foundation; Executed Iranian Mentioned In Clinton Emails.

With the interest rates so low, it should take lot more than the usual outside disturbances to cause a meltdown in the stock market.

Heritage is an essential element of who we are.

Ceding the White House to Hillary Clinton is insane.

A news store headline: “Dan Rather rips Trump in epic rant.” Like That’s surprising. Dan Rather disliking Trump is a reason to vote for him.

To break up this political stuff, I was trying to think of a good chemistry joke for you, but I didn’t think I would get a reaction.

I’m thinking of burying all of the 3,660 Tids to date in a time council. I’m wondering if found some day by ISIS marauders whether they’d destroy it or sell it on the black market. “Hey buddy, want Tids?”

Political exaggeration Department:

Local Pols are touting the fact that GE is locating its Digital operations in Providence, RI. The fact is that the company is creating a GE Digital operation here that will in a few years employ up to 100 people. The GE Digital operation is headquartered in Cal and employs 30,000!  I don’t see this tail wagging that dog.

Eating a clock is time consuming.

Hillary is considered “Fit” to be president by her supporters because of her experience, which is really the kind of experience on the international scene the no nation can afford.

Every morning I wake up with nothing to do, and spend the rest of the day doing it.

I call a restaurant elite when I find that it serves mashed potatoes and gravy.

The Answer:

--Barbecued Meat doused in course salt then grilled is essential. Popular in addition to beef are sausages, cheese on a stick (queijo coalho) and chicken hearts on the same grill. –Moqueta, a fish stew in a clay pot includes Seafood stewed in diced tomatoes, onions and coriander. –Cachaca is a fierce liquor from fermented sugar cane juice. –Brigadeiros are chocolate truffles made by simmering condensed milk with cacao powder, then whisking in butter. –Pao de Qeijo is an enticing cheese bread that is crispy outside with a chewy inside. –Acaraje is a high calorie snack treat - deep fried crushed black eyed peas patty with palm oil and pureed onions and stuffed with dried shrimp and a puree of prawns, bread and cashew nuts known as vatapa. Quindum is a custard like treat made eggs, sugar and coconut. –Feijoada is a hearty stew of black beans, sausages and cuts of pork. I didn’t see a mention of gravy.

One of the great things about writing foreign words is that it becomes harder to pick on me for spelling errors.

See you tomorrow. And remember that religious vultures prey for their food.
