It’s the truth, it’s actual, everything is satisfactual…

Today's Tids Issue 3,871
For sad Hearts:

Bluebirds! That poetic, magical, puffy, red breasted, vivid blue backed bird on my shoulder, in my songs. That bluebird which always seems to represent pure happiness. What does it sing this morning when the black heart of an extremist unleashes a murderous bomb in the midst of a crowd still humming their favorite tunes from just minutes earlier? Not just any ordinary crowd, but a crowd made up mainly of children from six to twenty. Youth lost, for what reason? There is no reason. The bluebirds sing a sad song this morning. Bluebirds aren’t supposed to sing sad songs. I guess we are all learning about change. God bless them all, each and every one; may blue birds carry them home.

I know a woman who has had to hang a “No Vacancy” sign on her Bluebird Birdhouse. The beautiful bluebirds are back, and clamoring to get in. That had inspired to learn and write about Bluebirds this morning, I thought it would be a nice way to cut through the verbal venom of the times. How ironic. I decided to research what happened to the Eastern Bluebirds that used to brighten the hillsides and valleys up hare many decades ago. I found that indeed they had ben diminishing dramatically for quite a while now. But, they are coming back strong, according to the Audubon society. So, do you know why they are repopulating in the Northeast? The experts say it’s because good people along the bluebird flyways are putting up Bluebird houses. So, when you are startled to see the beautiful creature along your way, stop a minute and thank someone who is helping out.

The new Trump budget is based on employing classic toothpaste back into the tube strategy. It is probably entirely correct realistically, but impossible to work politically.

Nobody ever could take down James Bond, no matter how precarious the entanglement. But, sadly, the glibbest of them all, Roger Moore, died tis mooning. 007’s number is up.

The Question:
Name Ten Birds you would enjoy having in your garden.

There are plenty of temptations on this earth, but one you should never ever succumb to is opening an intriguing looking email which in your heart you know is potentially destructive to your computer.

There were some very entertaining performances last night on the final sing-off for The Voice. Jesse Larson was outstanding for me, as he just ignites the crowd. Young Aliyah is very good and was particularly entertaining for me with Dancin’ in the Streets (Or maybe it was just the tune I liked). But it really boils down to Lauren and Chris, the “Singer” and the “Entertainer”, not that the entertainer can’t sing! As one expert said it, “Lauren reminded us – as if we’d forget – what a world class voice she has. Not just a pitch perfect performance but one that revealed what a promising song writer she is.” But then, Chris is no slouch, “Nobody in the contest this season,” says the same expert, “puts on a show that can touch what Chris does.  – He’s not only the most kickass of singers, he moves like he was born on the stage”. So, there you have the two, one of which will win it all. Also, Lauren had the #1 ITunes seller last night, her own original song. She also had #2, #12 and #18 – 4 in the top twenty. Chris Blue had #3, #9 and #20. Rounding out the Top Ten ITune charts, we had Jesse at #5 and Aliyah at #7. This is really a battle between Blue and Duski. Blue brings down the house, but Duski fills the heart. I see Duski winning in a close one.

If Duski wins, it will be a great day for Nashville. The NHL Nashville Predators made it to the Stanly Cup Finals last night…the first time in the team’s history!

BTW, did Alicia go mad, and sing a little off key in her duet with Chris. It was very weird.

This is the time of year when Asparagus starts to get too thick.

It is also D day for Dancin’. Last night belonged to Rashad Jennings the football player. He got two perfect scores, while Normani Kordei and David Ross each got one, Ross’s being his first of the season. Kordei sparkled and Ross thrilled, but I’m thinking hat Jennings will get the golden dancin’-feet-ball.

I’m liking Nicky Haley as UN Rep a lot.

David Stockman says we should put all welfare back into the states. The states have to balance their budget by constitutional edict. That would tend to weed out what’s really necessary. The welfare industry doesn’t like the idea of budget limitations.

In Iran the powerful Republican guard still seems to retain its power even as the voters re-elected their incumbent moderate over a hardliner. It will be interesting to see what happens next in the diplomatic world where Europe seems inclined to play softball with Rouhani and the US/Israel/Shiite combo wants to play hardball with the Sunni hardliners. Both strategies are correct at some level. In a statement yesterday, Rouhani admits that finding an avenue of agreement with the US and allies will be tricky, but should be pursued by iran. This is a key area upon which we should keep a steady eye.

Does turkey bacon come from poultry bellies?

Judging by the change at Ford, the industry, which for about century transformed and drove the wealth of America, is no longer about building a better car, but becoming something they are not today, tomorrow.

In case you haven’t noticed, the innate construction quality of automobiles has become pretty much equal regardless of price. It is no longer about skilled crafts person. The machines do it all, now to tighter and tighter tolerances.

All you have to know about the changing demographics of America is right there on your snack aisle grocery shelf. Tostidos have assumed the #1 spot pushing down potato chips to #2, and way down, good ole’ Cheetos. This is not a pretty picture.

Did you see where HS senior pictures are now becoming very elaborate, and probably very expensive, too. Does that mean that soon a bill will be introduced in congress mandating free taxpayer pics for all of less wealthy students in schools? Not in a Trump budget.

The Answer:
Bluebirds not only add great color to a garden, but are terrific at ridding your garden of Grasshoppers and other gnawing pests. The other great birds for garden pest control are cute chickadees (Destroy nests all winter long) and nighthawks. The others are Nuthatches, Phoebes, Native Sparrows, Swallows, Vireos (Love caterpillars – a problem here now), delightfully colorful, rockin’ Woodpeckers and Wrens. Actually, if you want to really rid yourself of mosquitoes, build a Purple Martin house complex.

Tis indeed a terrible, sad, unreconcilable pity,
What happened to innocents in Manchester city.
Why don’t all humans have hearts full of pure love,
Why can’t everybody live to the message from above.
