For Adjustments:
Expectations
are a funny thing.
Folks look for days much warmer
Just because we’re back in Spring.
But ask any New England farmer;
He’ll tell you what we all should know:
Don’t plant your seeds till late in May
Cause the days still are cold as snow,
And shivering plants prefer the delay!
“Free”
has no value, so all of the politicians who continue
to buy votes with give-away programs are essentially building a nation with no
incentive to improve.
Expectations
II:
Don’t plant your hopes in politician’s fertilizer, Because what they say and what
they do -- will always surprise-ya!
The
IRS has formulized their new independent tax collecting agency scheme. Today’s announcement
news release carries a warning. “Beware of Scam agencies which may pretend to
be the IRS designated agencies.” Are they nuts! The new system of four national
collection agencies has just legitimized all those phony, annoying and
potentially dangerous calls. Can you say stormtroopers?
Trump
could be the first president in my memory to leave
the office without greying hair. If you get my drift.
The
Question:
One day you are happily typing along, and the next
minute everything disappears. You have been vanquished by a virus or malware from
who knows where. But, that’s why anti virus/malware companies are looking for
better ways to minimize the efforts of happy inhumane hackers. And why the ratings
for te se companies change every year.. Name 2017’s top five Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware
companies.

All
of the major TV outlets and Newspapers ran with headlines bellowing
former Assistant AG Yates testimony – which we all essentially knew a couple of
months ago. Or maybe I dreamt that I knew it. I’m dreaming about Sally Yates?
Beware
of headlines forecasting market pull-backs based on one
person’s opinion. But, be sure to check it out. It could be true or worse a self-fulfilling
prophecy. Are we near that time when a pullback, a serious inhale of new refreshing
air is necessary to a cleanse an old overdone market? How the hell would I
know. I’m just a Tidster. But, I’m paying attention. Check out July17.
Two
have to go, and tonight on The Voice it will be somebody
great. First, the ITunes rankings for last night’s efforts: Only tow made the
top ten Hunter Plake and Lauren Duski at 9 and 10. I personally believe that
Hunter may be the best talent of them all, but he also may be over the heads of
the average voter. Lauren was outstanding last night, as was Chris Blue, Jesse Larson,
Brennley Brown an TSoul. Vanessa was also better than average. Aliyah Moulden
is very good, and should safe, but did the tears scare away voters or bring
them on. Many voice experts think Lillie has great “Chops” as they say. But
even oldsters who loved “Unforgettable” for slow dancing in the fifties thought
it was a little too slow for today’s audiences, including themselves. Mark Isaiah
was better but I think it was because the song was lstenbale. He did a decent amateur
night in the lounge job. But he as a constituency, which might save him again.
Two have to go, and I’m betting on Mark and Lillie and perhaps Vanessa or even
Jesse. As I said somebody has to go and it could be somebody really good. The
rest of the ITunes winners after Plake, Duski were Brennley Brown (15), Jesse
Larson(18), Aliyah Moulden (20), Chris Blue (21), T-Soul (27), Lilli Passero
(67), Vanessa Furguson (90) and Mark Isaiah (97). Note: Duski and Plake show up
again in the mid-150 range with older “TV” songs.
And
now there will be two. The original is coming back, as ABC announced
the return of American idol. Stay tuned.
Coach
bought Kate Spade, as you probably know, and the reason was
so Coach could get younger. That should be the objective of all companies now
in this fast moving, a surprise a minute culture and economy. Like throughout
history, many companies may be entirely contented, wallowing happily in their historic
accomplishments, some amidst all of the old people dollars. But, they like many
of the past will find themselves in deep despair if they don’t alter their views
towards youthful pleas. I think we are seeing it in restaurants as menus change
to meet the demands of cultural movements, and back ground music and rooms get
louder to provide the superficial buzz of having fun. So if you have a
successful old brand that seems immune to generational change, it isn’t. What did
they tell me when I was a young business pup -- innovate or die? Except for one
thing, even after investing millions in research, the management often didn’t act
upon what was becoming clear to everybody, including hopefully themselves. Their
15th largest company in the world is now in fragments and pretty
much dead. Companies have to get outside of themselves. Maybe the old Coach
will listen to Kate. Consumers and customers often don’t like it, but
shareholders and investors do.
In
case you missed it, Buffet, Gates and Munger like Trump’s
efforts with China and want him to continue pursuing that potentially strong, reasonable
mutually satisfying relationship. Gates, during a talk session between the
three multi billionaires, also urged heavy efforts against weapons of mass
destruction, investment in technology and knowledge for the future and up
grading efforts in the fight against pandemics. Makes sense even to this non-genius.
Until
the White House stops whining, and the Democrats in congress
grow out of adolescence, they country will have trouble moving into the future we
all should have.
Google
and Facbook are advertising companies, pure and simple,
just like Life and Look in the 50’s. Somebody will find a better way, just like
when TV came along.
The
