The ball is in who’s court?

Today's Tids Issue 4,347
Peaceful Glades:

Looks like a good day for a nice walk in the woods.
With shoots breaking through, branches with buds.
Ground stirred by sun, filtered by leafless limbs.
Cool running streams where new polliwogs swim.
And I in my peace, calmed within, follow my whim.
To hop on small rocks across rapids; not falling in.
Feel the romance of breezes though wakening trees.
That hums the song of warmth, after winter’s freeze.

A friend of mine wonders whoever looked inside and oyster and thought it looked good enough to eat. And, you have to wonder, how he got it open in the first place.

Funny humor is always better than angry humor.

The Dems want their court back. One of the mantra of liberal Dem candidates like Harris and Booker is “Adding seats to the Supreme Court is a necessary step”. And with their hope of achieving the presidency combined with the fact that only Congress can determine the number of seats, their desire isn’t as obscure as you might think. Interestingly, though, RBG, the darling Justice of the left warns, “Court packing would cause federal courts to ‘lose a hefty share of whatever legitimacy they still retained’ in the current politicized era.” Many political observers say court packing is the unwritten litmus test for all Dem Presidential candidates. Repub Marco Rubio is proposing a constitutional amendment that sets the number of seats at nine. Forever. One more war to boggle your overloaded mind.

If you are holding a bee, what is n your eye? Beauty, everybody knows that beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder. Shoot me.

The Question:
What was the name of the anti-slavery political party founded in Wisconsin in 1854? Bonus: What are the three world cities tied for the title of “Most Expensive”?

Do you still call them brook trout if they live in streams, or cricks?

Just think if we Americans only viewed each other as neighbors, friends and coworkers, and never as members of a political party or ideology.

The Voice has become enjoyable again. There are quite a number of good singers, and a broad spectrum of genes. Adam has been very competitive. Maybe it was his Super Bowl appearance that made him seem important. Kelly Clarkson is one funny woman, and I gotta think she’d be a great friend. Blake gets all the country singers, as usual. And this year they are very good. Although, one of the best went to Kelly. John Legend has been a great addition to the program. Smart, pleasant, knows his music.  They are having fun again this year. Next week they begin the duets. I always like the duets.

My security software is telling me that some of my “Pun” sites are suspect. What’s that all about. Puns are the jokes of hacks?

Kelly Ann Conway has been a staunch defender of Trump’s policies, but her husband pummels the Prez unmercifully. Will Kelly choose love over position?

It remains to be seen if my glass coffin business takes off.

I see that a lot of young people seem to be looking at marriage as a partnership that merges two good jobs for financial security. I always thought of marriage as caring and giving, and love. I guess I’m out of touch.

Almost every time after I go through the endless menu of an automated phone system and ask finally for a human, the next message is, “This conversation maybe recorded for quality control purposes”. Quality control, my A--. It’s all about lawyers wanting evidence in the event of a squabble or suit.

Bryce Harper is going to be really, really mad tonight. Word is out that the LA Angels’ Mike Trout just agreed to a new 12-year contract extension worth $426.5 Million. That’s $100 million more than Bryce, who only wanted one thing in life – to have the highest contract ever. So now does he sulk all year because he lost his chance to obtain that goal by signing a few weeks ago for a paltry $320 Mil.

Compare those multi millions for playing baseball to what the Toronto Blue Jays just did -- ordered a general broad-based pay increase for all their minor leaguers. You know the future of teams who eternally struggle financially in nowhere’sville

I listen to some of the new politicians and wonder, did these people ever go to school?

The NE Patriots are having trouble attracting free agents. Do you think it’s because the have something against massage parlors?

There was a classic example of how the media misrepresents the news last night. CBS announced that the billionaire Bob Kraft had a deal from the Florida AG. You could hear the clicking as Twitter revolutionaries forwarded the misinformation to other haters of success, citing the CBS item as another example of the rich getting favored treatment. What CBS didn’t say was that every guy caught in that web got the same deal. And frankly it wasn’t like, great.

If you like to be atop of trends, keep your eyes peeled for “Matcha”, a green tea powder loaded with antioxidants. It is imported from China. Of course, you probably have been drinking it for years. I tend to be a lttle behind the times, at times.

The Answer:
In 1854 in Ripon Wisconsin a political party was formed to fight slavery. It was The Republican party. Bonus: Tied for top spot as most expensive cities in the world are Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong. I guess Hing Kong doesn’t buy much form Mother China.  The rest of the Top Ten list are Zurich, Geneva, Ozaka, Seoul, Copenhagen, New York and at 10, a tie between Tel Aviv and LA. San Fran is 25.

I keep getting hit by a bike all over town. It’s a vicious cycle.

Over the centuries there have always been those who would take away the foundations that made America so great. America always rose out of the dust. Better. You hear the noise, but the quiet, resolute people resist.
