Today's Tids Issue 4.541
One Star:
I have nothing
exceptional to say this morning. I wracked my brain for something unique and
inspirational. To find some words that might be a perfect elixir for a dissociated
world. You know, a phrase that might become indelible. Maybe it’s best though that
we all just relax a bit, simplify, turn off the irrelevant noise. Focus our
eyes upward, looking towards that star, that bright beacon traveling, soon to
illuminate that simple manger in a small stable. Where the light will be shown into
the heavens. And the music of love will burst into our hearts. It’s never too early
to think about goodness. Maybe that’s the word.
The only real news that could
come out of the now ending hearings is if the Dems failed to vote impeachment.
This had been a forgone conclusion since January 2017. A three-year impeachment
discussion looking for anything that resembled a misdemeanor or high crime.
Don’t you find
it hard to watch political bickering just when the Christmas season is beginning.
This just in.
Identified Flying Object spotted going towards the North Poll. It was confirmed
to be a U-F- HO, HO, HO, HO!
The Question:
Two actors, Tom Hanks and Eddie Murphy, nominated
for a 2020 Golden Award share a unique common association. What it is it?

Email habits that annoy people:
All Cap Subject Lines -- All caps is like yelling, and nobody likes being
yelled at. Unclear Subject Lines – Why am I even considering being interested
in opening hits. Be relevant. Not Using Cc or Bcc – Helps readers know where they
stand in the conversation, but lets them know they are in the loop. Writing Too
Much Or Too Little – Don’t be glib about a serious subject; And don’t write a
novel to ask a person if they want pizza. Signoff with Gratitude – Like Thanks.
Remember Thank You. Avoid Sending Emails On Monday – You never now how someone’s
weekend went, or how busy they maybe. Negative Subject Lines, least likely to
get Read – especially on Mondays. And Remember that people have other things to
do than answer your email promptly. Texting works better where immediate replies
are necessary. And for me. Minimize “Reply to All”.
Basically,
the left wants to impeach Trump because he appoints conservative Justices. Pure
and simple.
Santa has been
recording your posts all year long. Most of you are getting dictionaries.
The Voice
had its Final Eight singing singles and duets and it was generally one of the more
entertaining episodes. I thought the best performances were Happy Sunday, Rose
Short and Jake Hoot, with perhaps a nod to Marybeth Byrd. I liked the duet
between Byrd and Hoot. Ricky Duran was also very good and I enjoy his guitar playing.
Katie Kadan was big and bold as usual, but I thought she missed it last night.
Cute little Kat just can’t stand up to the belters. Sweet and nice but not memorable.
Wills Breman was off key and overdone. But
his duo with Duran was good fun. I see tonight’s results show leaving us with
Katie, Jake, Rose and Ricky with a possibility of an upset by Happy Sunday. Would like them in the finals for amusing entertainment.
The voters who put their money where their ballot was went for Jake Hoot who was
number one on iTunes, Apple Music streaming sales last night. Right behind at #2
was Ricky Duran. Rose Short hit #8 and Katie dropped a bit to #13. The others
from last night in the top 100 sales rankings were Marybeth Byrd at 37 and Happy
Sunday at 46. The only others who scored in the top 100 were repeats for Byrd
(63) and Hoot (95). Katie has been my pick to win it all for a while now, But,
now I’m thinking that Ricky and Hoot and even Rose have bigger fan bases. I think
it could all come down to Katie’s song choice next Monday.
Did you ever wonder why
Batman does his crime fighting at night? Maybe its because if he did it during the
day he’d get funny tan lines in his face.
Originally,
the US Federal Government was to receive all of its income from the states
which alone possessed the power to tax. In the six months preceding the Federal
Convention of 1787 the Government received $663.00. No wonder that in that convention
the founders gave sweeping powers (In what was to become the Constitution) to
levy and collect all matters of taxes. Just think, if the states had ponied up originally
when they had the chance, they would still be in charge the way they should be.
From a reader:
“America does not need to see the tax return of a billionaire who became a
public servant. It does need to see the tax returns of public servants who
become millionaires while being a public servant.”
The Trump admin thinks it is tough
when it goes into North Korea or Iran to negotiate, but it doesn’t compare to walking
into a room of Lincoln Center Honors recipients. There is no fiercer foe than a
Hollywood crowd gathering to pat each other on the back. Remember the Lincoln Center
annual awards, which use to be a nice non-partisan event. You know, a recognition
award for a lifetime of excellence from the United States of America, not just
from the USA minus “deplorables”. Could it be that the elite have become the
most prejudiced group in the Country?
Did you see where so-called
acting genius Emma Thompson said “That climate change will force people to eat
their pets” Gadzooks, how nutty are these glittering gabbers. Well, it’s better
I guess than eating your neighbors. If comes down to eating your pets though, I’m
moving next to a family that owns a cattle ranch or chicken coop.
All of these streaming TV offerings basically
are a means for producers, writers and directors to get around TV morality and community
decency standards.
The Golden Globes sometimes offer
a hint at where the Oscars might go. That is, if you care. I pretty much avoid
these glitterati shows any more. But it is the duty of any full-bodied reporter
to give you his all. The best drama pics are The Two Popes, 1917, The Irishman,
The Joker and Marriage Story. Best Comedy Music Pics: Dolemite is My Name, Jojo
Rabbit, Knives Out, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and Rocketman. I vote for
Eddie Murphy, a guy who always made me laugh.
Many say that
the highly touted Netflix pic, The Irishman, is too long. But here’s what I don’t
understand. Why are all the main characters Italian – Pacino, de Niro and Pesci?
The Answer:
Well, we know Hanks is up or an acting award for Mr.
Rogers. And you probably remember that among Eddie’s earliest claims to fame was
his parody of the sweaterman in Mr. Robinson on SNL.
Well, the Impeachment
thing is over. The Dems are out there tis morning, grouped together photographs,
with somber faces declaring themselves heroes for America by bringing down the
dastardly President. So now the question is, how far will the Senate take it.
Will they just vote to censure him and ask him to behave better, or will they have
full trial with all the bells and whistles, and then acquit him. Unless something new comes up.
Look up
and find a star, You’ll be happier.
