Vera Lynn died last night at the age of 103. Hers was the voice of hope for millions of WWII Brits hovering neath the constant barrage from hi the evil Hitler’s V2 rockets. Hers was the thrilling voice that awoke the courage in men’s and women’s souls, that they would never give in; that they would rise to come out and fight back, and fight and fight and fight again until the monster was driven into black bunkers to die. Hers was a voice that was as comforting as the bombs were loud.
Younger people seem to be thinking, I don’t need a mask because I am healthy. But it is exactly the opposite. Too many in the youthful sector of the country congregate without wearing masks in close groups thus becoming more suspectable to be a Virus carryer. They of all people should be masked to help stop the spreading to other who even they deem more at risk. I don’t think some people get it. So, what’s new.
I saw a black pastor named James David Manning saying that until blacks stop blaming whites and slavery for all of their problems, and start looking within, there will never be real growth for their communities. And the division will never heal. And also, he said, until whites stop enabling that status out of fear and assumed guilt, the black community will continue to struggle.
See, the real dilemma for Repubs and conservatives is -- how do you stop our country from being run by Joe Biden and an all Dem Congress and still retain your dignity?

Can you ever bring that happy play back to Broadway in these times? There just has to be something socially wrong with it. Right? Or at least somebody, somewhere is looking to find something wrong with it. Or maybe it just isn’t chic to do something that is just simply happy. Maybe the new normal is red faced people not listening. Temples pulsing with rage. Not finding little thing in life to love. To feel calm.
The stock markets is nearing pre-Covid levels. But the economy is far from it. Now, that is perplexing. But, what isn’t these days.
