Today's Tids Issue 4,838
Love, not revenge:
Do you get the feeling some days that Americans are being herded? I do.
I actually make up words quite often, because sometimes you can just do a better job of describing a situation using something other than what’s legitimately available.
Knock, knock.
“Who’s there?”
“Olive.”
“Olive who?”
“Olive you!”
Beware of Lotharios baring corny Valentine jokes.
Bitcoin uses more electricity annually than the country of Argentina.
From what I’ve been reading, it appears that restaurants during Valentine’s day are trying to make up for a year of slow business in cost of one meal.
The Question:
What are the best movies about forbidden love?
The Headlines:

Freedom of the Press has been justifiably sacred, but it seems to me that the all-important Freedom of Americans is what is most jeopardy. And the press isn’t helping?
I’m thinking that the next big target for the Dems in power will be going after the Conservative Radio talk show hosts. They will start poisoning their image. I can see it happening already.
But, why be bitter when love is in the air around now more than any other time. Except for those who are always in love.
Here are some new fast-food options that are coming your way. The Tids has always fought for unhealthy eater’s happiness. Popeye’s is coming out with a fried fish sandwich with a little Cajun seasoning. Burger King will have a new super bacon breakfast sandwich. In test now, but said to feature 6 slices of bacon, sausage patty and eggs and cheese ply us Zesty sauce. Feb 24 is the day for Mac to intro 3 fried chicken sandwiches, trying to catch up to Popeye’s. Chipotle will be pushing Cauliflower rice. No thanks, here. Note: Chipotle is also in the process of rolling out Brisket. Dunkin has teamed up with Kellogg’s Morning Star Farms to intro a “Veggie Power Breakfast” staring a Southwest flavored black Bean patty, spinach-bell pepper-infused egg-white cheese omelet (Get me outta there.). Mac is going in with Beyond Meat to launch McPlant! I can hardly wait. Carl Jr. is going “fiery” launching a series of items based on using “Habanero Ranch Sauce. I’m in for Popeye’s Fish Sandwich.
Pope Francis the other day referred to Copernicus to illustrate massive change. You know Cappy – he was the one who said that the sun, not the earth, was the center of the solar system. You can imagine the contortions of the all-powerful when Cappy changed the basic concept of the universe. Boo. Hiss. Sacrilegious. Atheist. And everything else. But I don’t like the idea of The Pope’s “Copernican Revolution”. Now I understand what he is saying but I’m not so sure it is the best course for a society. His revolution sounds more like AOC and Bernie Sanders. So I commend the Pope for being clever, but not his post Covid economy. He suggests, no urges countries to adopt a paradigm shift policy: “There is need for a kind of new Copernican revolution that can put the economy at the service of men and women, not vice versa,” He imagines a global economy that stops “exploiting the poor” in a world that is more economically and environmentally just – with basic healthcare guaranteed for all.” (I guess Trump will never become Pope, but he may run for it. Make the Vatican great again)). It sounds like he is coaling on America’s left, a left that has a problem with Freedom of Religion. So Copernican is nicely descriptive. but hie idea, is not going to bring America to Springsteen Middle.
Restaurants are struggling to stay alive, but “take out” has been one area where they have generated revenue. But now somehow have put themselves at the mercy of these pop-up delivery opportunists – DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grub Hub, who get 15% of the bill to deliver. Say what? Great idea for B-School business model, but not so hot for the people creating the revenue opportunity. Something is not computing in this mind. I have always done pick-up, and now I will do it more-so just to help these restaurants save a few dollars.
Remember when autos companies used to worry about Steel shortages? Now, it’s chip shortages. One thing you don’t want is a bad chip considering how computers are controlling so much in a car. That is nearly Copernican.
All of these electricity consuming mega tech campiness, despite her proclamations to the environmental gods, are to going to put up with budget breaking high energy costs associated with alternative energy..
I threw a ball for my dog… It’s a bit extravagant I know, but it was his birthday and he looks great in a dinner jacket.
That would be funny if it wasn’t so true about what dog owners do for their pets now-adays. I used open the door for my dog and say I’ll se you when you get back. Actually, I used to do that with my kids too.
The Answer:
The number1 forbidden love story movie is Titanic. Next is The Notebook followed by Romeo & Juliette, Beauty and the Beast, Edward Scissor Hands, Moulin Rouge!, West Side Story, Suite Francais, Brokeback Mountain, The Duchess, Anna Karenina, Twilight, Bridges of Madison County, The Exception, Tristan & Isolde, The Thorn Birds, Underworld, The English Patient, The Piano, First Knight, The Graduate, Romeo Must Die, Underworld Evolution, Never Let me Go and at #25, Closer.
I could write a year’s worth of Tids based on the hypocrisy of politicians.
I’m off politics and the great divide for the rest of the week. I’m now all about L-o-v-e!
